That's not necessarily true.

A supernova is merely an explosion of energy. There have been identified stars that went super nova and their respective solar systems are still largely intact.

You have proof that FTL is not feasible?

The FTL bit is debatable.Causing something as massive as a star to go supernova requires such vast amounts of energy that it makes me wonder how your nation hasn't created full-blown pocket universes yet.

I'll have to say honestly I do not see the link between the two. Considering stars are confirmed for real things and the possibility of their death is real. It exists, it can die, its a matter of finding a way to speed the process. Pocket universes are debatably real and have no confirmed way to reach them. So that would be creating a place which potentially doesn't exist through a gateway which, assuming pocket universes exist, potentially do not.

...can you back that up, by any chance? Because that's pretty damn unlikely. Bordering on impossible. Like to the degree that I suspect you don't know what a supernova actually does, or how big it is, or how much power is involved.

Well, I get the general opinion is 'Go fuck yourself' regarding this topic so I'm sure Asuras will take that into acount, jeeezus.

I think your view of the current attitude regarding the solar system-destroying potential of your nation is quite accurate.

Anyway, registering interest after lurking for aeons.

3 Super Nova's that can be seen with rudimentary telescopes are visible AT LEAST every hundred years.

Is this supposed to be relevant in some way?

At the point fusion can no longer be maintained, the star dies.

This process takes millions (if not billions) of years to pull off.

What's the method your nation uses to accelerate this process?

You told me it's impossible to back up the idea that solar systems with stars that have gone nova still have their systems largely in tact. I just pointed you to 3 identified Super Nova's that have transpired in the last 300 years that you could go look at their solar systems, right this second.

A supernova is mostly a release of energy and radiation -- not fire and gasoline, bruh.

It's not a Michael Bay explosion.

Nothing there mentions anything about intact planetoids surrounding those stars.

And yes, radiation. To the point that sitting at the edge of our solar system when it went nova would kill you from the neutrios. They are inconceivably powerful. Our star going nova would be brighter than a nuke exploding right next to your eyeball.

Because it's Wikipedia. You might need to do a little research if you are truly interested; I shan't hold your hand.

Took me 2 minutes.

And Ad hominem, really? Namecalling? A little elementary, maybe?

I guess it's a good way -- if you don't have anything constructive to say, just call the other person a fucking moron. Always works.

Pre-Fourth Era civilization could be described as Tier 1. Now, it must be a Tier 2 civilization, both in size and technology.

Also calm your tits everyone.

The same which is used to achieve FTL, flying car or sustainable fusion reaction?

That's the thing with science, if you can prove something is doable and this breaks the laws of physics, you have to rework on your understanding of the laws of physics. What this means is that I'm not qualified to say how to make stars blow up, I don't even know if someone on earth is. I'm saying that it might be possible in the future and even if it is not, it's just a damn roleplay, so space magic.

That's fine and all, but I'm just going to say that being an ancient race does not encompass possessing weapons that can destroy entire solar systems. If there was a logical reason behind such technology, I'd concede, but at the moment it looks like senseless wanksauce buffoonery that was engineered to act as a power creep or something.

If anything, why would a peace-loving species even have access to such destructive technology?

This is also a classic example of why ancient species seriously need to be axed from all NRPs. They ultimately turn into the author's personal way of compensating for something that they lack or whatever.

Read the history, the access to such destructive technology would kinda be why they are so peace loving: Because they fought each other to annihilation and even after, machines took up the fight and AIs battled until one remained because it had destroyed all trace of any of its enemy. I could just say that it was won through conventional means but from a narrative point of view I think it would be kind of a meh ending for this war.

See this is a constructive question/discussion starter.

In any case, it doesn't matter whether or not system-busting bombs is feasible, necessary, or what-not because no one has them anymore. Period.

Oh yes, tiny penis jokes. I woe me I admit myself vanquished to your expert deduction skills, for yes, it is because I have a tiny penis that I made this idea of a weapon and I want to force this on you like I would force my tiny penis between your ass cheeks. Not in your ass mind you, for it is so tiny and thy ass so fat I know I would never be able to do that.
