In the Roll: box, you type in the number of dice and the type. For example, 2d6, for two 6-sided dice. You'll pretty much always be rolling 2d6, plus modifiers, depending on the action. To add a modifier, you'd type 2d6+2, for example. If you're rolling for damage, then you'd roll a d6, d8, d10, or whatever your class gets. In Note: you just write a description of the action you're rolling for, like "Hack 'n slash against goblin 1," or something, so we know what the roll is for.
You have to roll for casting rotes, yes, but you can always cast them; you 'prepare' all of them whenever you commune with your deity. They don't count towards your spell allotment. All the regular spells must be prepared; see your Commune ability. At present level, you can prepare all your rotes, and two level-1 spells at a time.
If you want to run your desired action(s) by me here in the OOC, I can give you the proper rolls to type in the Guild's roller.
Tried to do a test roll just to get familiar with the use of it, but I don't actually see where on the dice roller page one can input a new roll
Oh, jeez. I took a look at other campaigns' dice rolls and it seems that you have to be the owner to make rolls. Sorry, I thought you all were seeing the same thing I was.
We can do this one of two ways - you each can make your own roller under "New Campaign" and link to your rolls in your posts, or we can all use the roller I set up and I'll do the rolling for everybody.
The latter would be easier from an organizational perspective, since we'd have everybody's actions and results in a central place. Of course, I also get it if folks like the feeling of rolling for themselves.
Would probably be easiest to specify what we're rolling in a hider under our post, when we feel the need to do so. That way you can impose penalties or bonuses as you see fit as the GM, and keep things organized. Plus plenty of rolls need input from the storyteller anyhow.
Yes, that's also what makes the OOC so useful! If anything needs clarifying from you or from me, we can go over it here, too. Now, let's see some posting soon!
You sing the healing songs of spring and brook. When you make camp, you and your allies heal +1d6.
Born of the Soil
You learned your magic in a place whose spirits are strong and ancient and they’ve marked you as one of their own. No matter where you go, they live within you and allow you to take their shape. Choose one of the following. It is the land to which you are attuned—when shapeshifting you may take the shape of any animal who might live in your Land.
The Frozen North: If your huddled clothing and snow-white hair isn't indication enough, your left arm is no longer flesh but one made from permafrost crystal. You maintain sentient control and flexibility over the limb despite its structure. This mark remains through your transformations.
By Nature Sustained
You don’t need to eat or drink. If a move tells you to mark off a ration just ignore it.
Spirit Tongue
The grunts, barks, chirps, and calls of the creatures of the wild are as language to you. You can understand any animal native to your land or akin to one whose essence you have studied.
Shapeshifter
When you call upon the spirits to change your shape, roll+Wis. On a 10+ hold 3. On a 7–9 hold 2. On a miss hold 1 in addition to whatever the GM says.
You may take on the physical form of any species whose essence you have studied or who lives in your land: you and your possessions meld into a perfect copy of the species’ form. You have any innate abilities and weaknesses of the form: claws, wings, gills, breathing water instead of air. You still use your normal stats but some moves may be harder to trigger—a housecat will find it hard to do battle with an ogre. The GM will also tell you one or more moves associated with your new form. Spend 1 hold to make that move. Once you’re out of hold, you return to your natural form. At any time, you may spend all your hold and revert to your natural form.
Studied Essence
When you spend time in contemplation of an animal spirit, you may add its species to those you can assume using shapeshifting.
If you couldn't tell by the CS, Linoleum is a bit... unhinged
I think when you named your character after a type of flooring and decided to carry around a gong you tipped your hand. Wish you'd filled out at least one of your bonds instead of going the gaggle of strangers route though.
Also, don't know how you got 'Northerner in Drag' out of Zogolli, as he's neither of those things.
