She, actually! The sad thing is that, though the topic came up because of movies, my head’s been focused on books, so I was not even thinking of movies/shows. My gosh, I couldn’t choose with that included! Toothless, Mushu, Draco (from
Dragonheart), The Great Dragon from the BBC
Merlin, Falcor, Haku as you mentioned… Yeah, no. Not gonna happen. I LOVE THEM ALL!
Hey, you never know!
Some lizards have ‘dragon’ in their name, after all.
Keep telling me that, and you’re going to end up giving me a big ego. xD I’ve always felt like my characters end up being one of my weaknesses, so I’m glad you’re enjoying them, as well as the plot so far! Like I think I’ve said, if at any point in time it feels like it’s going slow or you have any concerns, ideas, or suggestions, speak up!
That’s how it goes, isn’t it? Write something when you’re half asleep, and it’s either going to be absolutely brilliant, or completely incoherent. Man, I said it last time, but poor Ghent! He has the insults coming from all sides! *Pats the character’s head.* It’s okay, Ghent. I have faith in you.
I love that our characters break a few of the gender stereotypes.
Indeed. D-:< And yep, I tried to get to sleep around five in the morning—my old usual—but that didn't happen. Then my cat woke me up just as I was falling asleep.
Alrighty. If you stumble on anything I forgot to add, let me know!
I didn’t, but it’s a great post! Made me laugh a couple times. Good emotion and actions with both of them, and you play "crazy" quite well. But maybe Drust, Miles, and Elayra are the sane ones, and Ghent’s the one who’s crazy? xD
Good question! If a Jumper was trying to find it, yeah, they’d be capable of sensing one nearby, but otherwise, they’d have to be practically on top of it to know it’s there if they weren’t actively searching for one. When the portals (and Jumpers) are at full strength, it would feel almost like a physical pull, but at the moment, the magic to the portals themselves is weak so there would be no guiding tug, only maybe a faint hunch that it must be somewhere fairly close by, and would take a lot of effort to track it down. Mix that with diluted senses from too much alcohol, and you’d have why Miles would likely need our guys to find one. Most portals were normally fixed in place, so someone experienced enough with the world in question could know where a fair amount of them were, but because they sealed themselves off, they would have switched locations as an extra protective measure when they reopened. Which means, once the magic wears thin and they close again, Earth’s will switch up a second time.
Sound good? Anything you want to tweak?
