I am still here, It is just me getting focused on other projects and not knowing what to post, and there is also that this thread is seeming to die and I don't want to get any more invested if this is a dead.
I think we may need a rule that if you don't say you're swamped or that you're working on something, we can skip you if you take too long because this is getting ridiculous. If a person doesn't say something within 24 hours of a ping for if theyre going to post for sure. And we need to ask faster.
I find dialogue can slow things down and make for short posts as you wait for people to reply. I like google docs or write pads for collab scenes with dialogue.
If there is interest we can set that up. give the characters a chance to interact.
@SkullsandSlippers@Avanhelsing Tehre's a very fine balance between short things so other chars can react and long enough to give them something significant to react to beyond a single thing. It's a shortcoming of forum rps. I was going to reply today, but if people want a google docs convo I'm all in favor of this. I just can't access it from work unless I have a computer, not jsut my kindle. But I do most of my writing in the evenings anyhow, when I am not doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like I was for the past week (long story). Anyhow, I set up a doc, so feel free to jump in. ^.^
Got things started, please go ahead and add to it.
@SkullsandSlippers I just pester people OOC a lot of the time, and then either make things short or add in tiny bits I know about from asking. ^.^;; Tehre's really no good solution for multiple people unless one person does most of the editing. <3
I have always had good luck with shared write pads in one form or another. People reply and then one person can copy/paste to the forum. Helps with flow of interaction in my experience.
One long term game I am still in is only three people and everything is done in google so we can react as needed without a weird break of flow for dialogue or short posts.
Also it helps if you have a group who demands 300+ words and can't because you are mid conversation with another character.
@SkullsandSlippers Oh definitely, in terms of writing. In terms of sounding like a polished piece of writing...not so much. AND YES DEAR GODS YOUR POINT ABOUT WORDCOUNT MINIMUMS AND CONVERSATIONS THIS ALL OVER. <3
