I kind of skipped over some of the dialogue I could've done with Atlas but I feel it would be best for him to kind of move things along seeing as Rio wants to get out of there as soon as possible.

Wait so are we sticking to 4 person teams with backups? Or are we gonna stretch the cannon rules a bit and make them 5 person teams?

@vietmykeWe're going to stick to four man squads. Players will rotate per round. If a player really wants to play a round they can ask Bill too let them into that round. If you guys really want to we can go into a five man thing.

Depends on if more players intend on joining. If we had like, three more players, then it'd probably be best to stick with the rotation, but considering it's a five-man band we might as well slot in the extra pilot.

@vancexentan I'm kinda split on the matter. On one hand five man teams would be a bit odd, but on the other a rotation may be kind of exclusionary. We'd probably have to have more matches than they had in the VN.

edit: Actually @Ammokkx's right. Unless we get a few more we may as well just do five.

That's too bad- especially since competition fights are some of the major plot points- the player that sits out that fight will probably end up feeling like they did nothing to help their team. Also, RPing sitting in a crowd and watching a fight is not nearly as entertaining as RPing a fight itself, IMO anyway.

Alright well if you all believe we should swap up to a five man team then that's fine with me. I haven't established the rules yet so I can work around what it is like in canon.

@vancexentan I suppose it'd be for the best. It'd simplify the planning process for fights, nobody would be left out.

- is essentially my mentality, if the team was considerably larger, we'd be able to throw in rotations, have an "A Team" and "B Team", but as it is now its essentially excluding a player for a fight.

@vancexentan sorry for all the hassle, I understand the need to stick to core materials, and rules and guidelines are a key part of keeping things organized, but (for me at least) an RP is a collaborative story writing process, and its only fun if everyone feels like they're contributing and getting something out of it. Its not like a videogame or VN where events can go by in 15 minutes and then the narrative moves on, an RP fight could take a few days, maybe a week or more, and to exclude someone from the narrative for that much time just because they didn't fit in the canon rules is a little unfair to me.

Look I just said I'm fine with making five man teams however I just view it as a rather uneven and bizarre number to have but since it's what you all want that's fine. I'd be fine with side lining Bill if he wasn't team captain he's kind of required to be in most matches.

B-But... a five-man band... I can even fill out the roles!

The leader: Bill, duh.

The Lancer: Idk, Ian or Rio

The Smart Guy: Glasses McGee

The Big Guy: Whichever one got the short end of the stick on lancer

The chick: Sara by process of elimination. Alternatively Sara is the Big Guy and Rio is the chick, but Rio doesn't exactly scream 'peace-keeping role'.

Hey that five man band doesn't have a bassist. I call bullshit.

@Ammokkx Oh, I'm probably misreading your post, but I should mention that facing CPUs is done through a simulation, our actual GEARs aren't at any risk.

I've never read the VN, so I assumed the simulations are replicas of the actual GEARs.

@Ammokkx Well they do replicate them in the simulation, but the physical machines aren't in any danger.

(Seems like I did misinterpret what you said originally given what you just said. My bad)
