Blood and Gold
Players are feudal noble rulers in Shanri, a world rebuilt over the one left twisted and broken in ancient times by the now dead sorcerer-kings. They will contend for power, wealth and land, but they will not play by the rules. Secret knowledge and artifacts left behind the sorcerer-kings are ripe for the taking, as well as their infamous puzzle houses. Good old-fashioned deception and treachery are equaly sharp blades, and also at hand.
The players are not human, either, though they are close. They are Ven. They look like us, and on the surface, at least, act like us. The thing that defines the Ven more than anything else is their tendency to take things to extremes. The existence of Blood Oaths, the ritualisation of both Romance and Revenge, the Laws that exist almost entirely to be broken. How they capitalise things just to show their importance, and ignore grammatical rules purely for effect.
To speak in less... poetic terms for a moment, Blood and Gold is roleplay that uses the roleplaying game Houses of the Blooded for the setting and tone. It will also use its rules. Wait! Don't go just yet. The reason the "tabletop" tag wasn't used is because of how similar Houses is to a non-tabletop roleplay. It has rules, but these are very loose, well-designed and generally focused on storytelling over algebra. I'll explain properly in the OOC, if we get that far.
There is much more that can be understood about Shanri, the Ven, and Blood and Gold, but that is enough for a decision to be made. If you choose to join, never forget that knives come from all directions. Your ancestors will be watching. Don't dissapoint them.
