Guns tend to be weaker in Nasuverse because they have less mystery compared to a trusty archer's bow and swords definitely arrows. Plus, they're seen as a defining symbol of the Modern Age
EDIT: The reason why Lancelot's bullets hurt is due to Knight of Owner
oh hey an archer who doesn't use a bow
now it's really a holy grail war
@Turboshitter Of course. To answer your questions:
1: I don't imagine a bullet being able to kill a servant even with a direct hit to something important, if not just for balancing issues alone. I imagine that a bullet would travel faster than an arrow and the reload is both hands-free and autonomous, so a standard bullet being able to kill would probably be ludicrous, even on top of the reduced range from the pre-flintlock firearm. As for mages.. well, that's maybe a bit more ambiguous? Convenience as suiting the plot, anatomy/hit locations, etc?
2: From what I understand from the wiki, the difference is that Unyielding is a reduced effect from physical and mental damage, whereas Continuation is taking something that might knock him out on grounds of being too injured to fight well, effectively giving the opponent a hella advantage, and still being up to scratch; although being a B rank, mortal would still be mortal.
3: I'm happy to drop Endurance if you'd prefer it.

Yes, but these pistols are Noble Phantasms as well, and ones of a higher rank than the ones produced by Knight of Owner, so the same lethality would in theory apply. At least that's what I assume, anyway. I could be wrong. There are a lot of other Servants with guns nowadays who don't seem nearly as lethal, so I was hoping @vFear could tell us where Gerard stands.

I was speaking more in line about Gun NPs specifically. As I said earlier, guns have less mystery. They're generally weaker because they're usually more modern. It goes to the core rule that Older = Stronger.
That being said, I'm only trying to provide further insight as to how to balance Gun NPs, and I'm not trying to insinuate that all guns should basically be Airsoft Guns compared to dudes who chuck swords.
@Turboshitter Sounds great. I've modified the character sheet to fit, namely by dropping the Endurance to B- to fit the middle ground between B and C that you've asked for.
