“He more of a guild or he likes to protect me. I am worry of which form he will evolve into.” Jen says as she did not care which form only that Maui is happy.

Liam was working on guiding everyone to the first
Trial site.

"From what I understand, it's all about what time of day it is when it evolves." Chuck said, following her and Liam to the trial site.

Shiranui followed Liam, listening in to the information exchanged amongst the others.

“Cool, it is exciting to see any Pokémon evolve.” Jen says as she walks with her new friends.

"That it is." Chuck said, smiling.

By the time they reached the first trial site, They would come across Sashia talking to a young man with pink hair. "Really?, Kahuna Hala asked you to be the captain of Verdant cave, I remember when you and I first did the Island challenge trial. It was certainly a lot of fun" Sashia said to him which made him chuckle. Sashia then noticed her friends approaching the first trial so she waved to them.
Mike was in the pokemon centre bring all his Aloha team from the professor, with Ryu very much looking forward to reuniting with a lot of his old friends.

The Ferry pulled into the Port of Melemele Island and let out a long booming blast from its horn to announce its presence. For several seconds the large ship bobbed in the water before the ramp descended to the docks and it let its passengers enter Alola. As each passenger descended the ramp Seth stood near one of the railings and let in a long breath and smelled the salty sea air. He had never been to a place like this and the sweet salty air was completely different from the copper smell of the Battle Dome. He looked towards the Machamp standing next to him. He had rented the Pokémon to help him carry all his baggage. He lifted the one suitcase he would carry and descended the ramp to the docks where some of the natives met the passengers of the ferry. Each passenger was greeted and given a pamphlet, map, and a ring of flowers that the natives placed on each person’s head.

Seth was given one of the pamphlets, map, and he let the woman place the ring of flowers on his head before he began heading towards his cabin. Before coming on this trip he’d looked at all the places he could rent. There were the standard hotels, but Seth didn’t really want to stay in a place where everyone and their families would see what he was up to. He found a small cabin near the edge of a large forest that seemed secluded enough to where he could do his job in peace. He followed the directions and after a few minutes, he found the cabin. He let the Machamp place his things in the cabin and let the Machamp travel back to the agency. He would have simply just captured the Pokémon and sent it off to his employers, but he knew the rental agency would be waiting for the Pokémon to return so he let it go. He looked around the cabin and let out a long sigh before he began to unpack.

He found a small desk where he could place the laptop the Representative gave him. He opened it and allowed it to boot up while he grabbed the other things he was given. As he did, the laptop’s screen came to life and had a strange picture on the bootup screen. It was a red circle with glowing Amethyst symbols on the outside of the circle. Inside said circle were Amethyst lines that created the shape of a Charizard’s skull atop the Chaos Star. The image glowed for several seconds before it faded away and the home screen appeared on the laptop's screen. Seth grunted as he placed a large cylinder next to the laptop. He pressed the button on its side and the cylinder opened the reveal a large orbed crystal at the top and six cubes shape indents on the bottom. According to the man that hired him: this was a transporter to help Seth send them any Pokémon he captured and in return. They’d send more traps for him to use. He connected the transporter to the laptop and a small ding came from the laptop. Once that was done he unpacked the rest of his belongings.

After he was finished and let out another long sigh. He looked at the time and saw it was getting close to lunchtime. He figured he’d head into town to see what local restaurants this place had. He would set the traps tomorrow since there wasn’t a real time limit to his job. Any Pokémon he’d send to the organization. They’d wire his pay to his account. He could take a couple weeks on this island before traveling to the others to set his traps. He was about to head out when he saw his reflection in the mirror. He was still wearing the ring of flowers on his head. He let out a laugh and took the ring from his head and tossed it in the trash.

“If they only knew why I was here. They wouldn't welcome me with open arms,” Seth said to himself before he opened the door. Once he crossed the threshold he closed the cabin door and locked it. Before he could even turn around he heard a dog barking at him. He quickly turned around and looked down to see a small puppy happily barking at him. It stopped and sat down to stare at him. Seth looked at the puppy and took out his Pokedex. It was an original Pokedex that he was given when he first started his journey. Because of its age, it had large dings, scratches and the back had a large scar on it from when he met a very pissed off Scyther. Seth opened the device and pointed it at the puppy. Before coming to Alola Seth had updated his Pokedex so it could identify the new types of Pokémon. The familiar robotic voice came from the Pokedex as it described the puppy. Rockruff, the Puppy Pokémon. It has lived with people since times long ago. It can sense when its Trainer is in the dumps and will stick close by its Trainer’s side. Seth closed the Pokedex and looked at the Rockruff before asking, “What?” Rockruff stood back up and barked happily as its tail wagged.

Seth sighed and walked past the Pokémon. Rockruff cocked its head at Seth before it began to follow him. Seth walked down the dirt road towards the city but stopped and sighed, “Don’t think you’re getting a free meal if you follow me.” He didn’t turn to face Rockruff as he said this and simply continued walking towards the city. Rockruff didn’t make a noise as it continued to follow Seth. Oh well, guess I found the first Pokémon to send to them. Seth thought. Seth marveled at the large city of Hau'oli. He didn’t think an island region like this could house such a large city, but then his stomach rumbled and he looked around for a place to eat.

“Now where is the best place to get a meal?” Seth wondered. Rockruff simply sat down next to Seth and waited for him to decide.

(We aren't having trial Capt's. Liam was told of where these Melemele trials were because he is trusted due to his Champion status.)

The first trial site came into view. Liam told his party that according to Principal Oak, during the trial battles, you were not permitted to catch Pokémon. When Liam approached it, a giant, slender Pokémon leapt out to attack him. a few smaller Pokémon popped out with it.

"Gumshoos, the Stakeout Pokémon. Although it wasn’t originally found in Alola, this Pokémon was brought over a long time ago when there was a huge Rattata outbreak. When it finds a trace of its prey, it patiently stakes out the location...but it’s always snoozing by nightfall.

Yungoos, the Loitering Pokémon, and the preevolved form of Gumshoos. Its stomach takes up most of its long torso. It’s a big eater, so the amount Trainers have to spend on its food is no laughing matter. Although it will eat anything, it prefers fresh living things, so it marches down streets in search of prey." There was a strange aura around the Gumshoos.
"So, this must be one of those Totem Pokémon that I've heard about." Liam thought aloud.
"Alright; Robin, Jangmo-o! It's time to shine!" Liam sent his two Pokémon out and the battle began. Both charged in and tried to bite Jangmo-o. Robin made a gust of wind, pushing Yngoose away from Jangmo-o. Jangmo-o used Dragon Dance to increase his atack and speed. Both Yungoos and Totem Gumshooes tried to use Super Fang, the former on Jangmo-o and the later on Jangmo-o. Jangmo-o counterd with Dragon Tail and knocked the Totem away. Robin was hit and countered with Leafage. The Yungoos was starting to get tired, but they both used Hyper Fang, but swapped targets from last round. Robin was KO'd and Jangmo-o was hit, but survived. Upset, he used his newly learned Dragon Claw with such strength that he knocked the Totem onto the Yungoos. The attack KO'd Totem Gumshooes and the Yungooes was KO'd by the Totem falling on it. The Totem Gumshooes stood back up and looked at Liam sternly for a brief moment before conceding. A Yungoos ran up and handed a Normalium Z to the Totem to hand off to Liam. Liam thanked the two and offered them each an Orren Berry since they were about to battle again.

Shiranui approached the Totem Gumshoos and it along with a different Yungoos took their battle positions. "Ashika, Bakeru, I choose you!" He sent his Popplio and Mimikyu out and his first Island Trial was underway. Ashika started with Baby-Doll Eyes on the Yungoos and Bakeru broke out his Charm attack. Both Yungoos and Gumshoos suffered a drop in their Attack stats, the latter of which was harsh. Gumshoos gave Bakeru a Bite and that busted the Mimikyu's Disguise while Yungoos tried to use Super Fang on the same target, but Bakeru wasn't affected by it. Bakeru used Feint Attack on Gumshoos and landed a hit and in retaliation, Gumshoos took another Bite out of the Mimikyu. Yungoos used Super Fang on Ashika and that cut the Popplio's HP in half. Ashika gave both opponents a Disarming Voice and Gumshoos went down. Bakeru turned his attention to Yungoos and gave it a Feint Attack. Yungoos barely survived the hit and retaliated by giving Ashika a sharp bite with Hyper Fang. Ashika sprayed Yungoos with Water Gun and Yungoos went down.

Gumshoos got back up and acknowledged its defeat and the crystal-bearing Yungoos came up and handed Gumshoos a second Normalium Z. Gumshoos handed Shiranui the crystal and Shiranui gave Gumshoos and his Yungoos opponent a Sitrus Berry each so they'll be ready for their next battle.

Jen is a bit nervous as it is her turn for the first challenge trials. She sends out Maui the Rockruff and Kawane the Pichu. The Yungoos and Gumshoos took their potions on the battlefield. “Kawane use thunder shock and Maui use rock throw. The Yungooses bites Kawane took the hit as the Pichu shoots out a wave of electritcy to paralyzes both Yungooses. Gumshoos hits Kawane as the Pichuis KO. Jen calls Kawane back to his pokeball. Maui throws rocks at Gumshoos as it inflicts damage.

“Rock Tomb,” Jensays as Maui levtates a boulder as theGumshoos attack Maui as Maui takes damage as Maui hits the Gumshoos with the boulder knocking out the Gumshoos. Jen uses a paralyze heal to help the Yungooses and a potion to heal the Gumshoos a potion as this is not the last battle for today. A Yungoos runs off and brings back a third Normalium Z crystal and Jen puts it in her bag.

With that, Hala came up and apologized for being late. He saw that three people had just done the trial and suggested that they give the Totem a chance to rest.

Shiranui agreed with Hala's suggestion as Totem Pokémon didn't have the luxury of healing machines that the gym leaders had in other regions.

Sashia also agreed after she had seem her friend off when the Kahuna had come. "Kahuna Hala, Although I trust my friends here. Was it really right to send them to the Totom den without a guide? I remember that Captain Desmond showed me the way here and offer me some advice before I took on the totom" Sashia asked him curious as to why he had sent them on their way without a guide, she knew that two of them were champions but Aloha is still a large region.

Jen agrees to let Kahuna to rest a bit before battling anyone for now. She feels a bit guilty and leaves some more berries on the ground for them to eat later.

"So, what shall we do while we let them rest?" he asked.

"Well, Liam, Jen and I can work on acquiring some Z-Rings and Sashia can help us out on that task," answered Shiranui.

“Sounds good with me,” Jen says as she did not want to steps on anyone’s toes if Sashia as a crush on one of the guys. She wonders what been following her lately on the way here.

Liam heard some rustling in a nearby bush as a sky blue Rockruff jumped out and barked happilly. Liam sent out Robin to battle it. Rockruff tried to use Bite on Robin and hit, making him flinch. It next used Rock Throw, but missed. Robin fired off Leafage and scored a critical hit. Rockruff was weakened from the blow and missed with Rock Throw. Liam tossed a Luxury Ball and made the capture. Liam decided to nickname him Mooney.
