There is no real rule but most of the time I personally try to wait two post in between my last post unless it calls for sooner posts such as during conversations so no one gets too stuck

Everyone is meeting in the lounge per the captains request. Your character and the captain will at some point need to talk with the committee about the stowaway but not now. Rae just asked the crew if any of them were hungry as she is making food for their new guest.
