I'm gonna say something that will probably get me killed; I do not care for the DCAU Batman.

Batman in the first three seasons of B:TAS was wonderful, and I loved Kevin Conroy's voice then, when he made a point to have some actual inflection and make his Batman and Bruce voices different. But as soon as it came time for him to start mixing it up with the other characters, IMO the character stopped being interesting. The writers' blatant favoritism when it came to Gotham characters being treated as innately superior to the rest certainly didn't help, but I also think they leaned way too hard into his whole "cold and calculating" outer shell to the point where that's basically all he was. And while I know that from Season 4 of BTAS to the present day, the monotone deadpan version of Conroy's voice is the definitive voice for most people, I feel like it makes him the least interesting part of any scene he's in, to the point where it often feels like Mark Hamill has to pull double-duty to bring the energy to their tag team.

When MB reads what Andy has said:

Oh, and speaking of: ffffffuck the Death of Superman. In all of its iterations.

Unless you're playing by Game of Thrones rules, when you think of something as momentous as the death of a flagship character, you expect a send-off that lets you see the character at their very best one last time. Whether it's part of a larger story like Barry's death in Crisis on Infinite Earths, or a grand sweeping epic of its own like All-Star Superman (an infinitely superior death-of story in every way), you expect some sort of poignant and thematically appropriate demise.

But what does Superman get? A big dumb fist-fight with a big dumb bone-monster with a ponytail and bicycle shorts (speaking of, if Doomsday is this mindless unstoppable engine of destruction, who the hell is braiding his hair and dressing him?). And then a few months later they both get up and are perfectly fine anyway.

The only thing I'll say is that it may be a stretch for Matt to be DA right out of law school like the sheet implies. It's an elected position and there's a lot, like a lot of politics involved to get to that level in a city the size of New York. ADA would be good though. Unless he spent years as an ADA before making the leap and you planned on mentioning it in the actual posts. If that's the case then I'm good.

I’ll change it to ADA with Foggy being a friend also practicing law to make it more feasible; while this isn’t a DD origin story I’m trying to tell, it’s not one with several years on the clock either.

I would say that it's impossible to post slower than me, but then Byrd would make a snarky comment about how I constantly mention how little I do. I mean, really, I wouldn't want to talk about how my post count is less than half of the pages the IC has. Or how I usually promise to get a post up by a certain date but then don't for another week. And I definitely wouldn't want to discuss how often I call my posts shit. Yeah, Byrd would have a field day if I were to mention any of that.

They call him Byrd 'The Factual Stickler' Man for a reason!

But yeah, I agree with my Co-GM. Everything else looks good, and as soon as you've edited to reflect the change suggested, you're pretty much good to go.

Hey, you never know. Someone's Silver Sable could be someone else's Moon Knight or Iron Fist. Different strokes for different folks.

Me? I like Deadpool. I've liked him even before the movie came out and made him a hot commodity. Some find him particularly annoying and wish that he would have never existed, but I'm not one of those people.

On the other hand, fuck Hank Pym. Fuck him in his "Science first!" ass, fuck him for being a wife-beating psychopath, and fuck him for perpetuating the idea that Ant-Man is in any way more interesting than The Wasp. Outside of the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon and the MCU embittered old fart interpretation, I could literally be driven to sleep by any given scene with him in it. I am not only happy that Scott Lang is the movies' version of Ant-Man, I almost wish Pym didn't even have to be a factor, but y'know. Comic book accuracy.

There, now I'm open to attack for my selectively stupid taste in characters that favors Deadpool over one of the founding members of The Avengers.

Who else favors one character over another, more popular character or has never seen the appeal of a particular superhero?*

*Anyone who answers "Batman" is getting automatically kicked from the game, because how dare you.

Oh jeez, where do I start?

Yes, I like Batman. I do not like GodBats, and that's honestly one of the biggest reasons I adore your Batman because he's still a mentally unstable rookie instead of this master of deception and calculation. Honestly it just seems like the character is getting watered down more and more to the point where I think eventually Batman will unironically be revealed to be the second coming of Christ or some shit.

Superman's the same way. Yes, I like Superman. I do not like Superman when he's poorly written. Again, Andy's Supes is amazingly well done and I applaud him. Most writers seem to think what makes Superman interesting is throwing nigh unstoppable threats at him that he easily beats because he's fucking Superman. No. Superman's most interesting when he's human, and his villains are more interesting when they're a force he can't just beat with his powers.

Oh and also, said it before, but I'm not a huge fan of the Punisher and honestly most of what I see makes me cringe in embarrassment because most writers seem to just think he's cool because he kills people. Coming from a person who's never written Punisher before this RP, in my own humble opinion, what makes him interesting is the psychological pain that causes that violence. He's not just supposed to be some EBIC balls-to-the-walls action hero (I say despite my Frank being a balls-to-the-walls action hero), he's a damaged man thrashing out at those who've wronged both him and countless other people.

Anyway there's my two cents. And while I'm at it since you did say 'who else prefers another character over a more popular hero', I adore the Question and he's a good lad who's gone through too much shit but stayed good lad and didn't deserve to die of lung cancer I luv u Vic <3 (Renee's cool too I guess).

Yeah, a lot of Punisher stories bug me and that's the reason I'm not the biggest fan of the character. Even a lot of the ones commonly hailed as 'the best' are just about the writer trying their best to fellate Frank while he kills hordes of people.

Right? We get it, he's badass, stop cramming it down our throats how he can kill loads of people and make it look like an art form.

Garth Ennis’ Punisher MAX series is, and always will be, the quintessential Punisher for me. He handles the balance between Frank’s psyche and badassery perfectly, and it’s made very clear how far gone and damaged Frank is – and how beneath all his pain, he’s still anchored to his humanity, despite all the things he’s been through and done in the 30+ years since his family was killed. I can’t read any other iteration of the Punisher without immediately whipping out my Punisher MAX volumes to reassure myself that yeah, the real Frank still exists (besides yours, Uni, ‘cause friggin’ Chow Yun-fat).
