@MetalgearsolidWow. Metal Gear Solid. I haven't done that sort of plot-line in a long time. I once had a Gurlukovitch Soldier in just such a RPG. I was somewhat late to the party so all the cool characters had already been taken.
During the Big Shell Incident I was stationed in the submarine dock and was having a cigarette, dangling my bare feet over the water when Solid Snake sneaked in. He choked me unconscious, knocking one of my boots into the water, stole my pistol, stuffed me in a locker and moved on.
Later I was discovered by my fellow mercenaries and reassigned to guard the hostages. I messed with one of them, an aide or something, maybe named Jennifer, until my commanding officer got fed up and had me patrol the corridors instead. I padded around barefoot through the Big Shell for a while as Solid Snake had lost one of my boots. Eventually, Meryl Silverbough who was in the game, despite not being present for the Big Shell incident, was moving through the station heard me whistling and stood flush against the wall where the corridors intersected. She stepped out as I passed and snapped my neck, killing me instantly. I slumped and she dragged me off into a nearby room and stripped me bare, shoving my body into yet another locker.
After that Meryl pretended to be me, wearing my uniform and helped out Solid Snake and Raiden from behind the scenes. If I remember correctly, I think it was my lack of boots that gave away her disguise. Her boots weren't Russian.
I also vaguely remember my dead body falling out onto Raiden while he was searching the lockers for rations and other items and I also remember being discovered by a patrol who took my body past Olga who became really pissed at having lost another soldier before being put into a storage room with a dozen other dead soldiers. (Mostly NPCs, none were killed by Solid Snake though. Our Solid Snake never killed anyone.)
It was pretty decent. I think Olga, Fortune and Vamp survived but I'm not sure. It's been a while. Oh yes. Screaming Mantis died but he moved his consciousness into someone else. I wouldn't mind doing something like that again but finding that many good players would be so bloody difficult. Plus that GM was pretty damn awesome.
I haven't even played the games since Metal Gear Solid 2. They were all on Playstation and I had an Xbox.
