Lego DC Super Villains literally just came out.

Right then.

Nah, to be fair I feel like other than Lego marvel and DC really need to step up their game game.

If by step their game up, you mean produce more games then yes I agree.

But in terms of quality, the Arkham Series, Injustice, Telltale's Batman and the recent PS4 Exclusive Spider-Man have all been fairly top notch. They might have a few hiccups here and there (See Gowi's reaction to Lady Arkham in Telltale's Batman and the ending of Arkham Knight really doesn't do it for me) but overall the quality and production value has felt pretty solid to me.

Would be nice to see something that's not based on freeflow combat or beating the snot out of another character though.

Arkham Knight as a whole was just one big wet fart to end an otherwise brilliant trilogy. (I've never played Origins, so it can't speak to it.) Didn't help that it fell victim to my least favorite trope: The "I've got a big reveal and shut up you haven't figured it out yet because I'm so clever and you're gonna be so surprised and oh it's exactly what you predicted from the beginning" trope.

... I'm sure TVTropes has a more concise name for it.

EDIT: Apparently, it's what happens when you Telegraph the Trope of Canon Character All Along.

EDIT 2: Sidenote, I am now trapped on TVTropes. Send help in you don't hear from me again in the next few days.

Origins is kind of the black sheep and while I don't know many people who like it, it's actually my favourite in the series. Sure it's a portion of Arkham City reskinned but I really enjoyed the story and premise even if it did feel like abandoned DLC in some ways. Also, the multiplayer aspect was sadly underappreciated and was a lot of fun while there were people actually using the servers.

But yeah, Knight sort of fell flat on its face. The ending is what bothers me most but the gameplay is so entirely hinged on the Batmobile that it becomes cumbersome. If we ever get another game from Rocksteady (the rumors are quite persistent still), I'd like to see the Batmobile treated more like a mount is in 'Skyrim' or 'The Witcher' instead of 'here's a car that's also a tank and also can power buildings, fight badguys, move objects and drive on walls. You don't need to ever do anything in game but sit in this cockpit.'

The Batmobile missions were such ass, too. List of things you would expect to do with a Batmobile:

1. Drive.
2. Chase things.
.
.
.
99. Remain in a stationary spot and shoot at tanks.
100. Lift/move debris so Batman can traverse an area.

I'll admit, I had a lot of fun with the Riddler Races

But why on Earth were they attributed to Riddler? Gearhead would like a word.

I never even finished Knight because it ran like ass on my computer. It's not like I have a bad PC either, the game just feels terribly optimized. I definitely had more fun playing through Origins, which is criminally underrated imho.

All this complaining about games makes me glad I only play one game.

NCAA College Football '11 on PS3.

200 years into dynasty mode and time no longer has any effect on me. The immortal coaches have grown distant and cold, seeing their players as simple chattel, a disposable workforce to win football games and continue their employment. The game has stagnated and there is no longer any playcalling innovation, uniform redesigns, or rule changes. Year after year, I wonder what has become of the world of 2214 outside of the college football world and pray for a death that will never come.

...

Maybe I should try another game.

You know, Sony has gotten a lot of shit for milking the franchise cow so dry that its udders are bleeding, but -- to their very microscopic credit -- at least their Aunt May solo film rumors were only ever rumors, and not... this...

You should see if it's possible to make the games so miserable that the league just fold altogether, like the guy who ran The Death of Basketball.

Yeah I've seen that before. He also has another series, Pretty Good, that's about off-beat (usually) sports stories. Like the cocaine-snorting, Phillie-Phanatic-fighting, GM-murder-plotting, pigeon-toed MLB player.

That's a damn good one. My personal favorite is when he re-did Barry Bonds' 2004 season (the one where he scored the highest on-base percentage of all time), but without a bat.
