Taker your time. Spending a week in a hospital can really take a toll out of you. Unless, of course, you live in a stress filled environment.... in which case, it's probably the most relaxing thing you've ever known :)

Horseback riding can be very dangerous. It's still a small price to pay for the power you feel astride one. The way the horse floats between thunderous hoof beats, it's like miniature spurts of flight. It's complete total freedom. Then there's the power. They ruled land warfare for an untold number of years, even into the Napoleonic wars with the feared grenadiers! Even in World War One they were the favored means for scouting. You didn't have to worry about fuel for a horse and didn't have to stick to the roads.

I once saw a boy who didn't properly tack his horse and his saddle slipped off sideways taking him with it. The boy was lucky. Normally that results in a broken leg.

Good to see that you're doing better.

Awesome. I've never jumped, only ridden. That must feel spectacular. Mind you, I don't think I ever want to feel what one thousand pounds of horse flesh on top of me feels like... *shudders*

I really want to post right now but I have to be up in six hours. With luck I'll manage one in the morning before work.

Hey, anybody know a good fantasy term for "Shaman" that fits more into a European medieval setting? The world I'm creating involves concepts of animism, similar to Druidism and Shintoism in many respects. However I'm looking for a medieval European flavour. The closest I've been able to come up with is the Druid but they don't really have titles.

Blast it. Not enough time to properly craft a post before I have to leave! I spent too long in the shower.

Thanks for the advice. I suddenly realized what I should call my animists, and it is a two fold solution. In the south they are called Heralds, for they are those that name spirits, announcing their intent and displeasure. Kings and Dukes adopted the term out of a sense of self importance. They differ from priests in the fact that they can actually see their gods and spirits. Priests merely serve, they don't negotiate.

In the north, the Skalds serve the same function, but in addition to announcing the intent of gods they also placate their harsher gods with song and poetry instead of mere kowtowing.
