"Me and Kali were talking while you were away."

james bit his lip. He sighed and nodded.

"why?" she asked him looking at him. she felt a bit hurt. she didnt want him go.

"i hope she wasnt a pest" he says "its good she is talkj g to someone outside the family" he told Elizabeth. "is there anything you would like to do. right now?" he asked.

James sighed. He looked away.
"What you said...I realized I was doing more harm than good in the end. I didn't want to do that anymore. Plus, I realized my mother was right, I wasn't ready for this kind of ball."

Elizabeth blinked. she spoke rather quickly.
"I'm fine for now."

kali watched him " oh" she frowned "what kind of ball?" she asked him. she didnt know what he was talking about.

"alright" he says to her "and what were you and my sister talking about?" he asked her.

James sighed.
"I'm sorry."

Elizabeth sighed.

She glanced up.
"And she said she was jealous of you."

she was going to say something and she stopped as what he had said sunk in "wait this is your family's party?" she said standing there shocked and shook her head.

"so you were sharing secrets with my sister but not me?" he teased her "she is jealous of me? why is that?" he asked wondering about that

"no. heck no! my mother is no relation to Eric at all."
He stepped back, blushing from embarrassment.

He looked rather sad now.

Elizabeth took a breath. She explained it to him.

"oh. the way you made it sound" she said "im sorry" she said sheepishly. "james I'm sorry if i said something to make you want to leave" she said "i didnt mean to ruin your time here" she said sadly. "please dont leave. if it make you feel better we dont have to talk or interact after tonight" he told him and she hated to say it because she did want to talk to him. she wanted to dance with him, she wanted to spend time with him.

Brandon swore under his breath "well" he said to her "i will talk to my sister about it later" he said "thank you for filling me in" he gave her a smile

Elizabeth tried to sound reassuring.
"Don't worry. I'm sure she just wants someone of her own."
She actually grabbed his hands first.

James sighed.
"It was not you. I was angry at myself. I didn't want to risk anything more."
He actually stepped closer. He reached out to hold her hand, hesitant at first but doing so anyway.

kali was confused with him "didnt want to risk what James?" she asked him as he stepped closer to her. she didnt move away from him and watched as he reached out for her hands.

Elizabeth nodded. She actually gave a faint smile. She sighed a bit but the faint smile did not fade away. A ghoul passed by and he whistled at her as he passed. Elizabeth turned very red.

Brandon turned to the source of the whistle and gave him a deadly glare. he pulled her closer to him and slid his hand over her back and landing on her waist.

she shook her head "no i remember" she said "i just dont want to be treated like a glass china doll James" she says "and you hesitating or pulling away because your afraid of me going into another panic attack isnt helping me" she says "im not use to being touched in a loving way unless it came from Brandon or even sometimes my mother" she says "i dont get long with my other siblings they are getting to be as cruel as my father" she added. ",my father has kept me locked up up my whole life. my brother brought me things from the outside world when he could. this is all new to me but i also know what role my father has instore for me" she said to him. she looked down "im having feelings that are confusing to me. i think i like you James and i dont want you to leave" she said quickly.

James blinked. He turned bright red. He didn't know what to say. He bit his lip until it bled.

she froze at first when he pulled her into a hug then she relaxed hugging him back and taking in his scent. he smelled good to her. she pulled back from the hug

James blinked. He frowned.
