Brandon stopped her "you tried running away?" he asked "I hope that you do choose me Elizabeth and know that i would do everything in me to protect you and not let harm come to you" he says

James nodded. His cheeks were bright red. He complied and did as instructed.

Elizabeth blinked. She frowned and nodded.
"Yes, a few times. I was always found and brought back home,."
She sighed. She blinked again.
"I thought I already choose you?"

Kali felt her restraints loosen and she turned her head and smiled "Thank you" she says to him "i will be right back she says as she walks into the bathroom and closes the door. She takes the bodice off and loosens the skirt and steps out of it. She puts on her long silk nightgown and puts a robe on overtop. She looks in the mirror and cleans off the makeup she was wearing under the mask.

Brandon looked at her "Being courted and being in a marriage are two different things. Though I hope that it goes in that direction. Me courting you is a promise im making to you that you are the only women who has my attention" he says to her. "you saw those other men downstairs, they were already trying to get your attention." he says "it will be a fight for me if it continues" he told her

james nodded. He watched her go into the bathroom. He sighed afterwards. He suddenly felt nervous for some reason.

Elizabeth blinked. She frowned.
"They are like the others, only interested in me for my money. so no, I would never give them the time of day, or night. I want someone who loves ME."
She sighed.

he brought her hands up and kissed both of them "It makes me happy to hear you say that" he says "But it doesn't mean it will stop them" he says to her.

Kali put on mascara and some lip gloss before she walked out of the bathroom. She looked at James and looked down being a bit shy. she walks over to the couch that was in her room and tucked her legs up beside her.

Elizabeth blinked and managed not to blush. However, she soon sighed and nodded.
"I suppose."

James looked at her. He walked over to the couch. He sat down next to her.

Brandon looked at her "whats wrong?" he asked her "a penny for your thoughts?" he says as he squeezed her hand lightly and began walking to the new room.

Kali smiled at him "do you like me James?" she asked him. She was shy with some things but she wasn't scared of speaking her mind.

James blinked. He turned red. He cleared his throat and bit his lip. He nodded.

"i want you to trust me enough to be open with me Elizabeth" he says "i want to know everything about you and i hope in return you want to learn about me" he says "I wont hide anything even if its bad" he told her. they got to the room. He walks in and waits for her to see what she had to think about it.

She smiled and bit her lip nervously. "thats good to know" she says to him "so...you were going to leave and not say goodbye?" she asked him. "did you cause the shaking earlier?"

She took a breath. She made eye contact.
"Do you....play any instruments?"

james sighed and nodded.
"I...didn't think, at the time, that you would want to see me."
He blinked and nodded.

He nodded "piano" he says "Violin" he told her "my father made sure i was accomplished to make me more suitable" he says "i am the oldest of the siblings and will inherit my father's land and money" he told Elizabeth. "maybe if your lucky i will play something for you" he winked "well what do you think, will it work?" he asked her wanting her opinion.

Kali looked down "I'm sorry if i made you feel that way" she says to him. "I do enjoy your company" she says to him.

Elizabeth faintly smiled.
"I always wanted to play, but my mother would not let me knew fathers' piano. I'd love to hear you play sometime."

James shook his head.
"I was angry at myself, not you."

"if you wish then it shall be" he says to her and gave her a small bow. "I can try to teach you if you really want to learn to play the piano" he told her smiling. He wanted to make her happy and make her wishes come true. "do you sing?" he asked her.

Kali looked at him then slapped his arm "well next time you better say goodbye if your leaving" she says "do you still want to go?" she asked

"That would be nice."
She shook her head no when asked about singing and she frowned.
"father never approved."

James gasped. He sighed and rubbed his arm. He shook his head.

He held her hand in his. He fought leaning in. He knew she wasn't ready for that yet.

he smiled "are you being shy again?" he asked her "your father didn't allow it but did you listen to him all the time?" he asked "besides your Father isn't here" he grinned. "if was to please your suitor would you sing? I bet you have a beautiful voice" he told her as he took her hand and twirled her in the room.

She giggled "good" she says "i dont want you to go" she told him "you act like the slap on the arm hurt" she said smiling.

Elizabeth shook her head no. she sighed when asked about her father.
"I had to be sneaky about it, and only during my brothers' lessons."
She glanced away.
"I've never sang before. I was never allowed to take lessons."

James nodded. He rolled his eyes and chuckled a bit. He gave a soft kiss to the very top of her head.

"okay" he says "then your suitor wants to hear you sing" he smiled "i will pay for lessons for you so you can practice without me around to make you nervous" he says "you get what you want without having to fear the wrath of your father" he told her.

Kali enjoyed to hear him laugh. he was even more handsome to her when he smiled and laughed, letting his guard down. "so what are you going to do now that you are staying?" she asked him. "Why did you come to the ball anyways?" she looked at him.

James shrugged at the first question. He paused at the second. He muttered 'to meet someone'.

she rolls her eyes "really?" she says "talk to me James dont mutter" she says to him as she looks at him. "be upfront about things with me please" she said and sighed.

Brandon looked at her "thought you would be more excited" he says "found a way of you getting what you want without making your parents angry" he told her.
