Mary sighed and hugged him.

"I don't want to scare you. I want you to feel safe around me." He melts into her hug. "But I can't change what I am...."

Mary nodded in understanding.

He sighs. "I used to enjoy my powers. Flying, shapeshifting, and the like......but I haven't used them in a while, because I'm afraid of scaring you."

"not everything scared me."
Mary admitted.

"What......did scare you?"

"when you did things that make me worry about you."
Mary admitted.

"Like.....when I leave to feed?"

"When you get hurt for starters."
Mary teared up.

He frowns. "I....I didn't realize it bothered you so much." He hugs her. "I'm ok dear....I'm fine." He kisses her gently.

Mary hugged him tight.

He holds her close to him, letting her know that he's not going anywhere. "I'll be here for you Mary. You'll be ok."

Mary sniffed and nodded.

He carefully studies her eyes.

Mary didn't look away. She made eye contact.

His eyes are loving, and concerned.

He sighs softly. "There are so many things in your world that hurt me. Mostly the sun...."
