Mary gasped. She realized who the cat really was. She made to run off and out of the house.

The doors close on their own. "It's rude to leave in the middle of a conversation." His voice is raspy.

"You act like this town is yours! we are practically your slaves! How is that helping?! let me go!"
Mary was shouting in a panic.

He stands up, and grins. "Slaves? No no no, you're not slaves. You're still just as free as before. Just with some added protection measures, that's all. I did everything I said I would."

Mary struggled trying to open the front door.

"You call me a liar, but where is the lie?"

Mary continued to tug on the door.

"You signed the contract, just like everyone else. Not my problem you never read it." The handle burns red hot.

Mary pulled her hands away.
"I did no such thing! I had no problems of the sort until you took over!"

"Everyone else did. They signed it quite willingly." He stands, and bears his sharp teeth. "Besides, who would believe you if you said that a cat had control of the town?"

"They know you're a vampire. They know you have powers. They will believe it."
Mary started to glare.
"There are plenty of girls in this town, why me?"

"That matters little. They can't stop me." His eyes glow. "You're the only one who isn't afraid of me, and that interests me."
