Eric looked at her. He would have blushed if he were human. However, he had gotten distracted. He was soon knocked against a nearby cave wall and fell to the ground.

Emily led the serpent to the cave. She was just in time to see what happened. She screeched.

Aela looked over to where Eric landed and struggled to get to her knees once she did, she crawled over where he fell and leaned over him shielding him from the spiders. “Eric? you okay..? Can you hear me?” Aela summoned white flames from her fingertips in hopes to heal her friend.

The serpent went into the cave hissing the spiders immediately retreated.

Eric had fallen unconscious. He was out cold. He had no idea what was going on. He was unaware of Aela trying to heal him, or of the serpent following Emily into the cave.

Emily screeched. She watched as the serpent seemed to scare off the spider. The landed near Aela and her brother. She gave a worried sounding cry and glanced back at the serpent.

Aela heard Emily's worried cry she carefully picked up Eric and moved over to the serpent carefully. "Please can you help heal him? It's...all my fault."

The serpent moved to Aela as she struggled to stand and offered support. The serpent breathed out white flames helping Aela's heal any damage to his Eric's body he might have got. Once the serpent was done, Aela gently set him next to Emily "Thanks for getting the serpent to help us. Thanks to you and the serpent I was able to heal any damage he has taken. It's up to him now, we just need to let him rest."

Emily looked at the serpent. She watched as he helped heal Eric. Something about the serpent, something in his eyes, suddenly looked familiar to her. She was not sure at first.

Eric seemed to look better after a time. However, his eyes remained closed. He wasn't too hurt anymore, but he slept. He needed rest.

Emily managed a sort of nod. Her eyes remained on the serpent.

Eric slept.

Aela slid down and leaned against the serpent's warm body. It's metal scales reflected the soft moonlight and provided light. As Aela slipped back into sleep. The serpent kept eye contact with Emily for a few moments and would only tear away to glance around for spiders. Seeing that it is clear than returning his gaze back to her.

Eric slept for some time. He needed the rest.

Emily would have sighed if she were human, when she had glanced at her brother and Aela. However, her eyes were currently on the serpent. She was confused. Why did the serpents' eyes look familiar to her? She had a feeling, now, that she had met this creature before, at least at one time. She was not sure when or why. At least, she did not seem to remember, at first, anyway.

Time would pass before she knew it. Sunrise would arrive soon enough....

Aela slept soundly until early sunrise. The serpent watched over the group and eventually relaxed, sleeping. An odd behavior for a snake who would usually be active at night.

Emily tried to rest.

Eric slept through the night.

When it was sunrise, the two of them would change back into human form. Emily would blink and look around. Eric would blinked and finally open his eyes.

Emily would find herself glancing towards the snake.
"What did its' eyes look so familiar last night?"

It took a few moments before Aela awoke as the sun began to rise. The pain she was used to feeling from mana was...quiet?! She sat up quickly and summoned a white flame it floated there, she noticed it was larger than it normally was. And the pain wasn’t as intense as it usually was. She thought for a few moments the poision was out of her system..right? She reached behind her neck and felt the wound had healed. When glancing at her hand again she saw metal flakes. The snake..? She glanced over at it as it’s calm eyes blinked.

Emily blinked. She looked at Aela. She gasped and went over to her.
"Are you alright?"
She asked with concern in her voice.

Eric groaned. He opened his eyes, slowly.
-"Wh....what happened?"
It would slowly come back to him. He gasped and sat up. He, too, looked at Aela and go over to where she was.

After a few moments, the twins would glance at the snake again. Emily took a deep breath, as did Eric.
"Thank you."
-"y....yes.....thank you."

Aela smiled and shook her head as Emily quickly approached. Aela explained that her Spider wound was healed and the poision had worn off. However, her mana that would overflow her limits was not as painful as it usually was. Aela explained that the metal flakes on her hands probably came from her sleeping next to the snake. But she was unsure as to how her wound healed so quickly and her mana was more manageable than it used to be.

Aela slightly flushed as Eric approached as she was talking and continued to speak about her stuff.

Emily nodded, looking at Aela. She was still a bit worried and concerned about her. After a moment or so, she glanced back at the snake once again. She was confused. She still could not figure out why Serpents' eyes looked so familiar to her. It was like she had met this snake before, but she did not recall ever doing so.

Eric nodded. He held Aela's hand.
-"That is odd. I truly hope that you are alright."

He cared about Aela ALOT and he did not want to think about what would happen if something happened to her.

Emily was still looking at the snake.
"Have we....met before?"
She barely spoke above a whisper and was simply thinking out loud.

Aela held Eric's hand in return the flame flickered and went out. Her palm was warm due to previously holding a flame. "I'm fine Eric, I actually need to thank you for last night. You were my hero." Aela kissed the back of his hand and smiled.

As Emily gently spoke aloud the snake turned it's head toward Emily and seemed to blink almost answering as a "yes." It retreated out of the cave and glanced around.

Eric nodded once.
-"I certainly hope so."
He took a breath. He shook his head. He spoke.

-"Um....there is no need for thanks."
Eric blinked when she kissed the back of his hand like that.
-"Um...."
He kissed the back of her own hand in turn.

Emily blinked.
"Did it....just speak?"
It was almost like she could understand him. She watched as the snake glanced around outside. She was still confused.
"....where?"
She was very very quiet when she spoke that thought out loud.

Aela listened to his responses and smiled at him being a bit shy and flushed when he gave her a kiss in return. Aela heard Emily for a moment but wasn't quite sure what she said.

The serpent turned to her "Not safe here." It's words were clear as day almost echoing in Emily's mind as it turned and waited for Aela and Eric to move out of the cave.

Aela led Eric out after gathering her stuff, "We should probably have breakfast a bit later."

Eric blinked. He followed Aela out of the cave. He nodded.
"um....alright. But....why?"

He raised an eyebrow.

Emily blinked. Her eyes went wide.
"I....I heard you. H....how?"
She was VERY confused. She was quite nervous as well.

Aela glanced past Eric into the cave. "Food might draw the spiders out. And they might come for us. That is why we should gain some distance between us and them. Unless you'd like a repeat from last night."
The serpent nodded as Aela and Eric emerged glancing back to Emily. "Take care of one another. Dark times are ahead, Emily." The serpent slithered off into the swamp looking like it was going to hunt for it's food.

Eric nodded.
"I understand."
He helped her pack everything up and such. He tried to be quick.

Emily blinked.
"....what?"
She watched as the serpent left. She was highly confused. How was the serpent able to talk to her like that? How come she could understand him? Just what was going on?!

She didn't know what to think anymore. She had no answers.

Aela appreciated Eric’s help and shouldered her pack. She held Eric’s hand as she lead him out of the cave. She wanted to talk to him tell him how she felt last night.she didn’t want to let his hand go.

Aela glanced from Emily to the Serpent. “Em? You okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost that or you’re sick.”
