Biography: Ransom R. Hill, was born at Stony Brook hospital in 1984 in Southampton. When he turned 27 (2011), he learned a family secret along with the aforementioned family history. He learned he was descended from a long line of Grimms. It was nine years ago in 2011, his eyes were opened to the world of the Wesen community. He acquired weapons and ancient, dusty, moldy tomes filled with scribblings of his forebears. He knew he descended from minor English nobility, but through this enlightenment he learned he descended from minor Thüringian (German) nobility from a medieval Teutonic order and the Crusades.
His father was a Grimm as was his grandfather and so on. They each passed their family history on to the next generation. When Ransom learned of his responsibilities as a Grimm, he was both frightened and excited. He did not know what to make of it. He saw the Wesen and the reactions they displayed upon discovering who he was. Being a Grimm allowed him to see Wesen whenever they woged and he learned their weaknesses through his own research. He also acquired an increased stamina, strength, and agility which lends to his fighting styles when fored to confront Wesen who do not wish to comply with his policing duties.
Ransom grew up in Southampton. As a youth, his parents signed him up for Kung Fu and Kickboxing classes at a local dojo on St. Mary’s Road. He also enjoyed playing Rugby and football with his school mates. He follows Southampton F. C., the local team. Since he was a middie in secondary school he appreciates James Ward-Prowse and Nathan Redmond; both of whom are midfielders for The Saints. Ransom graduated from secondary school with decent grades.
