locations - Still vote forge and Darc himself is endorsing it IC. Perhaps an isolated mountain workshop/mine. That ought to give everyone the space they need once we can start tunneling projects.

monsters - I wanna run into some real ugly, horrifying eldritch abominations just to make Darc feel at home once he later becomes a twisted flesh being. It’ll also be a good sort of reminder that we aren’t the top dog yet when there’s some unfathomable horror lurking over at the lake ready to throw down when he’s done contemplating the cosmos or whatever great old ones do in their free time.

factions - don’t have many strong feels about this one, though I imagine there may be some mercenary group or adventuring guild who’ll be our usual adversary. Perhaps a frontier town that we can slowly corrupt or sabotage so we can raid and take over the place ourselves.

good-guy - also don’t have much of an opinion on this one. Send whoever you feel would suit us best. Though I think it’ll be a good time to fight celestials and angels just to build our cred, and so Darc can consume their bodies and rise to divinity that way. I’m a sucker for slaying the forces of heaven.


Okay if I'm going to be completely honest I thought we'd be working together in the beginning but after things got going we'd be trying to work against one another or was I wrong?

@Dark Cloud you guys share one dungeon. There can be IC rivalries so long as things go smoothly OOC. Overall your characters are going to want to push the goals of the Dungeon along so you can expand, get better supplies, gears and power. It's fine if characters disagree and there are power struggles - you are monsters after all - but generally speaking it's unwise to go undermine your fellow Dungeon Lords's goals.

For one the world of the Light is not friendly towards monsters.

@Dark Cloud Don’t take Darc’s pushy attitude as him working against others. He’s just the type of person who makes his thoughts pretty clear and actively goes about trying to achieve his goals. He’ll work with the other monsters, but Darc has emphasis on working. If the others aren’t doing anything than Darc will have to do stuff on his own.

He’s certainly not the type who waits and sees, to be passive and just react. Atm we’re sitting around the campfire doing nothing. So Darc is trying to figure out what exactly their game plan is, what they collectively are trying to work towards. I’m sure Zaz’ak has his own desires and plans, but unless he talks about it, Darc doesn’t know and as far as he knows Zaz’ak doesn’t have a plan.

Heroes all welcomed, mainly thieves, I like to confuse them in the maze before bashing thru brains in.

Each of you will have jurisdiction over different aspects of the dungeon. Although if someone wants to shirk their duites and bow out of running dungeon stuff that's fine too.

Presumably I’m as susceptible to physical harm as you are. Maybe once I gain more levels I can be more resistant against physical damage, but as it is we all die if enough arrows hits us or we get hit by a big enough stick.

Incorrect, only 1 spell in DnD can kill you, Cure Disease.
Maybe in 3rd.
But, 2nd edition it's Cure Disease only.
5th didn't even have slime, which amazes me unless they put an in other books.

off to bed for the night folks, but I'm going to leave you with some questions now the dungeon votes are in ;D



You can pass if you don't have any opinions and we can always adapt it as we go. But it'd be good to start thinking about how we want our dungeon to be as it's one of the cores of the roleplay.

What's the Dungeon look like from the outside?
Is it a natural cave entrance? An abandoned church? the trunk of a rotting tree? ect

Structure: What are the rules and floors made of?
Cold Stone? Mud and roots? slick back obsidian? ect

Lighting: What lights the Dungeon and how dark is it?
Torches in sconces? magma in the halls? magical illumination? flourescent mushrooms? ect

Atmospherics: What sounds and smells greet those who enter.
fetid swamp water? overwhelming incense? sulphur and brimstone? rotting flesh? ect

Hoard: What makes up the piles of treasure in your hoard?
Gold? glowing crystals? stacks of weapon and armor? piles of junk and artifacts? chests with rare metals? ect
