Anyway, i never said no to npcs. A few would need to be thrown in here and there anyway, to make up for the fact that it is just the four of us in this, at least for the time being.

Were the other villagers around when the un-sacrifice happened, or was Aaranya alone at that time? I imagined the other villagers would still be there but we can discuss possibilities or put it to a vote. I'll find some way to freak out either way.

The mystery of the creature is that no one that has actually seen it has lived. I believe it's called out in VT's original post that they all huddle back into their houses with the lights out so only the candles around the fountain are lighting the town.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I honestly don't mind being corrected. ^_^

Actually, that was when the creature first showed up that they hid or fled.

they turn out the lights and leave only the candles lit during the offering part.

"When the red moon showed up in the sky, the people would stop what they were doing no matter what it was. Every light was shut off(street lamp, house lamp, candles, etc). They would gather around the young man or woman who was chosen to be offered up that year. They would place a crown of black roses upon their head and lead them to the town square. The young man or woman would, then, stand by the fountain in the town square, surrounded by lit candles, and await the arrival of the creature. A song sang by the original townspeople would be heard being sang, a story of sorts mixed with a desire and such for the creature to spare them for yet another year. "

I never said they hid in their homes during the festival/ceremony. lol

I believe so. The creature lives in the woods and comes to town once a year, thus the festival

The town was built in, and on, its' home. Thus, the town is in the middle of its' territory. And so, of course it would come into town during the festivities.

How would the world not know of what's happening here, is this town shut off from other towns....

@Kenshi Also, as with many fantasy/supernatural settings there is the Suspension of disbelief that is necessary to go with the flow of the story
