Alex shook his head. "Nothing, man. I'm paying!" he said, relaying the group's order to the cashier. He also handed over a few bills, taking the change. "C'mon, let's go sit down."
Fae came over to the table solo. "Alex is waiting for our sandwiches." she announced. "Aimee, can I... talk to, like, in private?" she asked, nodding to Jay.
Fae tugged on Aimee's arm, bringing to an empty corner away from the table. "So tell me..." she said, clearing her throat and grinning, "What's up with you and Jay?"
Fae's tail swished happily. "Aha! I knew you guys were closer than it looked! Alex owes me a dollar." She paused, then continued. "If you want... I can find out for you!"
Aimee smiled. "No thanks. It's something that has to come naturally. If we don't find it out for ourselves, we'll never learn how to learn about each other."
"If you want, sure!" Aimee replied. "As I said earlier, Jay and I are going to my place after school. You and Alex are welcome. My mother will probably be out until late tonight."
