[OOC] A Game of Cat and Mouse [emmyanne & Red]

You would not believe the day I just had... wow. My school is like a million years old (or at least 50), so today I was in the middle of a math lesson when the power just went out. It is a beautiful spring day, mind you, so this was really weird. We did my entire math class in the dark before finally the power came back on and everything was normal. Then, during my last block, the fire alarm went off so we had to do a fire drill. A bunch of fire trucks were there and it was super freaky but we ended up getting to go back inside to the complete dark because the power was out again. Turns out there had been a water leakage and they had to turn off all the electrical stuff so that it wouldn't get set on fire. I was walking back to class and everything seemed perfectly normal so I was a little annoyed that they had the lights all shut off, but then I pased the theater and there was water pouring down the doors, and the floor was sopping wet. Apparently inside the theater had flooded as well, which is the 2nd time in 2014 that my school flooded. It's been insanity...

I'm kind of a pro at making up new words. There is this whole inside joke between me and two of my friends that revolves around the fact that I don't actually know how to speak... XD Coolio, young little fledgling vampires it is.

Okay so what I had in mind for the hierarchy is loosely based on a novel that I am writing and also one that I have read. The vampire species should kind of be in a power play with each other, and there are different ways to exert your power over another. These could be something like physical power over other vampires (which is very interesting to write, this was how the hierarchy in my novel is played out and it's kind of like a constant battle of strength and wits), age/elder status, and also your vampire "linage" (the novel I read focused a lot on this; having some “family lines” be weaker and some stronger and also having that almost family bond mixed with the power lust.)

The whole system is based around a set of rules that don't really have any consequences other then the lose of honour, which in a species like this is a big deal. Don't aimlessly change people/you're responsible for your own fledglings, don't announce to the world that vampires are real, respect other peoples territory, clean up after yourself, etc. These aren't written in any sort of legal document, their just common knowledge so obviously they aren't as dumb as I'm making them seem. Anyways, in my mind I don't picture this being incredibly structured. I picture it as very gritty, creepy, dangerous society that is completely underground and is in constant battle for power.

Wow, uh can you tell that I love this kind of stuff? XD Sorry if this is more in depth then what you wanted, I tend to go a bit overboard sometimes.

Anyways, here is a bit about Lisette that I didn't post.

Lisette Marion Conrad
Lisette grew up in the very early 1800s. Her family, which consisted of three surviving children, including herself, and her two parents, was more privileged then most African American families of her time. Lisette had been born free, after her mother and father narrowly escaped slavery as young adults, and was blindingly grateful for that. She enjoyed her life, especially after she was engaged to the wealthy (or wealthy enough) Clifford A. Burkley, a man who never ceased to remind her just how lucky she was to have him. Despite his self-righteous ways, Lisette saw nothing wrong with her groom-to-be and was head over heels in love. The night before her wedding however, she found her fiancee locked in an intimate embrace with another. The events that followed were a blur to her delirious, heartbroken mind but the next morning she woke up... different. Faster, stronger, livelier and with a thirst that burned her throat like a million knives.
Lisette is cunning, smart and witty. She has embraced her new nature and enjoys the power that she has acquired; although, like with most cases, just a small bit of predominance isn't enough and she will do anything to get more. Lisette is very domineering and doesn't take well to orders.

That's crazy 8O From electrical problems to fire to flood...pretty much covers everything x) Was there an actual fire?? My day was painfully ordinary, except that we had more customers than usual today and all of us employees were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Luckily I don't work again 'til Friday, woo! We've had eventful days in the past though, I'll have to tell you about them sometime xD

Nice, you got all this vampire hierarchy stuff figured out lol x) So, since Mila is about a hundred years older than these two vampires, would that put her a little higher on the scale? Enough that she could warn them not to mess around with her? At the same time, she is in their territory. This makes for a nice grey area in the vampire code of conduct [which is really more of a guideline xD]. She's their superior, but she's in their space. Of course, to start off, they should be pleased or at least interested to see her again and not be expecting any altercations.

No, there wasn't a real fire, I think the drill had something to do with the water leakage. But yeah, it's flooded twice. The first time we lost our gym and we can't use it anymore, if we lose the theater I'll probably cry. I think that it'll be more of even ground, like they think she's just passing through so it's kinda like "Yo, waddup!" but then things go a little awry when they find out what she's been up to. Or something like that, it doesn't have to be too complicated! We can jut kind of play around with it and see what happens from there.

Take your time, the only reason I got hers up so early is cause I haven't been busy tonight and actually had the time.

Hey yo! Mannn, I'm in such a good mood, I had the best day today. I've been working on a concept and mood board for a project for one of my design classes all weekend, and I finally pitched the my idea to my professor and TAs and it went really well! :D It was for a video project for my Design Thinking class, which is just about refining your creative process, so we do a bunch of different types of projects from a lot of disciplines. But yeah, they loved my mood board and said that I've nailed - I just need to produce the video now lol. So I am so happy. I just got home so I'ma make dinner and then work on your reply ;D

Aww, yay!! Congratulations, that's so awesome XD So do you like have to put a crew together and get actors and do all of that stuff for this video? Or is it something that you'll be making using a computer program? Ooh, and what is it about?? That is actually the greatest thing, I'm happy for you!

I'm actually in a pretty good mood too, I learned tonight that I get featured in my pointe routine! Booyah! I'm in the front the entire time and then at the end everyone goes into a clump then another girl and I go to the front to do partner work, it's really great. Sadly, my toes don't agree with me so much on that one. DX

Aw yeah, we are awesome!! xDD That's so exciting that you're gonna be featured! What kind of routine is it? Eep, your comment about your toes made me think of that scene in Black Swan when she takes off her slipper and her toes are all bruised Dx Do your toes take a beating?

I will need some actors and I have three friends who I've already roped into helping me out heh. Two guys and a girl. Might get one of my brother's friends too. And my brother if I can swing that x) The film has to be at least a minute long, no more that two minutes. Mine will be live-action, probably around the two minute mark. The concept has to do with introspection, stream of consciousness, altered states of awareness. It's going to involve a series of hazy sequences, all relating to each other in terms of mood, color, emotion, etc, and these images will sometimes be abstract, sometimes sometimes just barely recognizable. I want them to feel elusive. They fade away into the next, and the next and the next. I need the actors so that I can film some close ups of skin and muscle moving, human figures, stuff like that. Phew, sounds totally vague, I know x) I'll send you a private link to my video when it's done, although that won't be for a couple of weeks!

Er, my feet don't look this good, js

So yeah, it's a little bit rough on the feet. I'm sixteen and I'm starting to get freaking bunions, which I swear isn't as gross as it sounds. It's just because dancing on your toes like that puts a lot of stress on the bigger joint of the big toe and causes it to build up to compensate for the extra pressure. Plus all of my toes are ripped up, calloused and all of that nice stuff... it's not fun.

And, ahhh! I've never seen Black Swan, my friend told me it was too weird, but I actually really want to watch it 'cause weird is like my thing.

Holy, that sounds so cool! I can already tell how much you're interested in stuff like that based on how you explained it. Personally, I think the whole skin/muscle thing will be super neat and the whole idea of an elusive, cogitative approach sounds so cool! I would never be able to come up with something like that, it's just so deep and imaginative! Also, really? Haha, okay, I can't wait to see it :)

Oh pointe, you said that x) Ouch! That looks beautiful, but totally painful Dx Great respect for you and anyone who can do that :O Sounds like you could use a foot massage after every performance then, or at least a soak in hot water x) You must have to do stuff like that to take care of them?

Ha, Black Swan is really weird, your friend was right. It's very intense. I liked it though, it does exactly what it sets out to do which is to make you feel uncomfortable. I think you would appreciate the nod to how painful dance can be sometimes, all to achieve as close to perfection as possible. But yeah, disclaimer: it's weird. Don't think I'm weirdo when you watch is haha xD But i do recommend it, as long as you know it's not a "feel good" movie.

Hm, I guess I should say I'll only show it to you if I like the way it turns out haha x) I'm way too proud otherwise ;) I think I'll make it work though, I've done some video editing stuff before.

To be honest? Yes there is a lot that I could do to take care of my feet, but after a two and a half hour ballet class (which really isn't that much, but I work my ass of in ballet. One simple exercise and I'll be out of breath and sweating because I push my entire body instead of focusing on just the moves) I am way too lazy to do anything but lay in bed and eat food... which sounds really bad, but that is basically what I do with me life. XP

Trust me, I won't think you're a weirdo! Feel good movies are boring anyways. I might watch it tonight after I do some chores...

Ew, I can only imagine what it would feel like after working on your feet for a long time ): It must really suck. Do you have to work long shifts a lot?

I have Monday's off because my class that I use to take that day got moved, Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays I dance 2ish hours and then Friday I can be at the studio anywhere between 2 and a half to 5 hours. The weekends depend but I'm usually there at some point, and sometimes I just go ad hang out there 'cause my house is boring. xD

No thank god, only three, sometimes four days a week. Although, if I could spread it out during the week, I wouldn't have to do three intense days of long shifts... But I need to cram it all in to three so I can have two days for practice and at least one or two nights for homework. That doesn't leave me much time to socialize unfortunately D: But all my friends or either in club or in studio so I guess that's ok. I'm making a hole in my schedule next week though, cuz I wanna go see Captain America 2 with my friends. It gets better in the summer too because club ends with the school year and I can have nice bite-sized shifts at work. Hoping to get an internship at this newspaper place in my hometown though, so that will probably keep me busy.

So yeah, another reason why I'm so slow to post, I'm usually working on design hw too x) I'm working on a color storyboard right now. (And your post of course, I'm almost done!)

Holy shit, you're so busy! I only have one hard course this semester and then dance class and I think I'm always on the go. Doesn't that get really stressful? I'd probably have an anxiety attack to be honest. It'll be nice to get out then, I assume! And doesn't everything get better in the summer? *sigh* I have all of my summer clothes sitting happily in my closet and I can hear their haunting voices calling to me, okay maybe not really because that would be a little freaky but still. Bite-sized shifts? Haha! Anyways, that newspaper internship would be really cool! What would you be doing there?

It takes time for quality! :) Speaking of that post was really good and now I actually have a funny story for you... okay so today I found the word "euphoric" and thought it was super awesome and the most unusual word ever so I was like "I am using this in my post tonight I don't even care if it doesn't fit in anywhere I am using it" and then I was just reading yours and the first sentence said something with the word in it. Now my entire word-finding self esteem has been deflated and I am throwing my thesaurus across the room because it has failed me. XD
