I just finished reading the OOC and am about to read the IC. Hopefully, I can fill Lee Lee's shoes. 3: ~
Name: Petra Constantina Thanos
Stage name: Petra Antar
Age: 23
Instruments: Guitar, Vocals
Other talents: Illustration, knows ballet, graceful as a swan -- when she wants to be
Day Job: Bartender at Frankenstein's
Bio: Petra life first budded at twenty-three years ago in the small town York, Pennsylvania. Her mother and father were both Greek immigrants, who seemingly clung to their religion, Greek Orthodox Christianity, as a means to keep some kind of connection with their hometown in Lindos, Greece. They flew the Greek flag outside of their house, and luckily for them, the libertarian town was welcoming to all sorts of colors and patronages.
Petra was coaxed and forced into the joining the Church choir, like all the other children her age. It was not that she did not mind the choir, it was just that she was a misfit and generally did not "fit-in" with the other children. She was always a bit off. Her mother even put her in ballet so she could be more like "one of the girls."
Of course, with choir came her love for music. Her father bought her first guitar for her tenth birthday party. It was pink and had a flower emblem on it. Her first song was "Hey Jude" by the Beatles. She was really loving the 1960's and 1970's flow of rhythm until her mother died in a car accident. The little starlet's future became stark and grim and even more less likely to cooperate with girls her age.
Petra and her father fell away from the Church, and her father turned to alcohol to help lick his family's wound. The alcohol left him angry and grouchy and moneyless. He became abusive towards poor Petra and left her feeling even more isolated. On occasion, he left bruises and even mistook her for her mother. . .
Petra's father owned the local gas station, and of course, upon entering high school, Petra was forced to work by her once loving but now abusive father at the gas station. It wasn't much work, and Petra did come to know a few quirks about the business. The most important rule she learned was that her father did not necessarily know the precise amount of inventory he stocked. With that said, Petra occasionally snuck some alcohol or cigarettes. She even was so daring as to take some spice and smoke it under her father's roof. These thefts made living with her father more bearable, like pay back for all the damage he had done.
. . . And nonetheless, the 'fun' did not stop at family theft. Many college students rummaged through the town, and Petra found herself showing up at college parties, trying to escape her father. She dated college age men when was at age sixteen, and that's when she found her love of metal. She began falling away from spice and smoking actual marijuana and from that gate, a whole stairway to the underground appeared. Petra took those steps down the dark, downward spiral and found herself sleeping around, puffing around, and playing here and there with little gigs at underground locals. She joined some Anarchist group and some band called First Born of the Dead, but the lead singer became a born-again-Christian and ditched the group for more Protestant-like music and companionship. Petra felt that she should have seen it coming with the name of the band and all, but whatever, she made a few bucks and hits from the experience.
It was after the collapse of First Born of the Dead, she moved California in hopes of pursuing her Anarchist band dreams. She was a pretty good guitarist, and knew it, she could play octaves like a true blood dark angel. Her vocals were not half bad, either, on a good note, she could scream like a man. She got some make shift job at a strip joint called The Rated R Dance Company, where she danced, but never got fully naked. And somewhere in between the lines she came upon Tim, a drug prince of San Francisco. Tim gave drop dead gorgeous Molly, pure MDMA, to everyone he met. And for himself, he spared the public of his heroin and meth addiction, except for the lucky girl sleeping in his bed that night. And fuck, once his eyes were set on Petra, he had to have her, and Tim always got what he wanted. He was a prince, after all. She was his new heroin. And after a while, he became her life support. Petra forgot why she even came to San Francisco in the first place. Petra was flying around the multiverse of hallucinations, parties, sex, drugs, rock 'n roll, high on a CA Jefferson Airplane. She couldn't remember the last time she was sober. All she knew was that Tim was her life.
But then, suddenly, she overdosed. Tim dumped her at the hospital, and bailed. He wanted nothing to do with her afterwards. She was admitted into the psychiatric ward of the hospital where she met Parker out of the blue who had been visiting his mother. They immediately hit it off and began to spend many days and nights together, which resulted in them eventually dating. Unfamiliar feelings of trust and perhaps something more soon stirred for her, and he began inspiring her to write lyrics as well as pick up the guitar, again, and start life anew.
They affably parted ways but kept in touch while she went to college for a semester. The money she managed to save from her Rated R Dance Company went down the gutter extremely fast from the past hospital stay and drowning bills. She could not afford to return and just as well was unable to relate to the teachings. She decided to hitchhike around the world, staying in various spots, playing her guitar on the side of the street for money. She decided to stop at different hole in the wall places searching for underground artists to hang with but found herself turning down offers to join bands. Money was scarce and a newly written letter from Parker suggested she move to Hollywood to join a band he had helped bring to life.
Fast forward to present day and heroin-chic Petra now lives at a dumpy motel Called Sunrise Plaza in Hollywood near Parker’s studio at Stabulum Quarters. She can be found at the Barcade, practicing with the band, bar tending at Frankenstein's, or spending what little money she has at a music shop Søren works at.
Personality: Petra used to be shy but has since grown out of that trait and has now become a bit brazen. Some would call her arrogant though she prefers the term confident instead. Although she appears to not care about the opinions of others she truly does deep down. She loves to laugh and add lots of sarcasm to her chats. If serious conversations are what one seeks they probably will not find them with her on a regular basis. She has no qualms about fighting or getting physical when confrontations arise though this is rare. Like the majority of humankind Petra has a more compassionate side though it is not practiced too often.
I hope this works. If it does not, do let me know. Please, oh please don't let me ruin this role play. I was having a bit of trouble relating to Lee Lee's character, so I revamped it a bit. . . Or much, I think I copied just a bit here and a bit there, I was not sure a long term role play would work if I did not re-do the biography section. As you can see, I kept the hospitalization, the world travel (although, I was tempted to leave that part out), etcetera. . I did do away with Milo, as I have no long term feeling for that side of the character, having it not being my own. I also accidentally copied the "mom-in-a-car-crash" scenario, but I figured it was something Parker and Petra could both relate. I also changed the picture to something a bit more for my taste.
I apologize that the bio is lengthy and kind of a bore to read and a bit choppy. I tried to make it fluid, but alas, I am staying up last my bedtime for this (I know, I know, nine in the evening is too early for bedtime). But anyways. . . School starts on Monday for me, so if I am as busy with school as I think I shall be, I will most likely only be able to post once a week/two weeks.
Anyways, I know I have not even been officially accepted yet, so I may be jumping the gun. Let me know if this works or needs re-editting.
Thank you ~
