I'd use a sensitive microphone and pattern recognition software to scan for heartbeats.
Either that or simply use a heat detection camera, undead are cold corpses after all.

Well the thing is that they're alive. Technically speaking. The bodies of vampires regenerate in this world, unlike with the typical vampire, and dead cells cannot multiply. This means that, at least on a cellular level, vampires are alive.

Anyways another tactic would be to have her take x-ray shots and check for teeth, It'd give you some info on some weak spots as well.

I'd like to say she could use the holy mist and target everyone who cringes in pain, but holy vapor was Johnathan's idea and its been stated jack hadn't thought of that yet. I can imagine it being in the next prototype though.

Magnus as well as Dresden had their hearts artificially removed, don't ask me how exactly but yea. Due to this they have far less restrictions for a normal vampire. Expect a post from me shortly or tommorrow if I fall asleep mid-post :p

and if you want to make sure if it is her you will have to remove her headmounted display, but I would say we keep it for their next encounter (speaking of removing the display).

Yeah, you're right, ultraviolet is out. And yeah, I think they are warmblooded. However, it's also been established that vampires don't breahe. So maybe vampiric cells simply duplicate incredibly rapidly, and are able to transport oxygen directly. It would be interesting to see....

Well, it's possible that a vampire has muscles along their blood vessels, which makes having a heart redundant. They certainly don't seem to need any other vital organs, so most likely the heart thing is a magical effect.
