What's with the thestral hair wands. I think I've seen at least two of them. I'm pretty sure reliable wands with cores other than the three Ollivander uses are pretty rare. I mean isn't the only thestral hair wand we know of the Elder Wand?

Yes. Supposedly its very powerful, but is incredibly hard to use.

A Thestral tail hair is a hair taken from the tail of a Thestral, and is used as a wand core. It is regarded as an unstable, if not difficult substance to use in wand making, though Veela Hair is also described as such, but has been successfully utilised.

Also, there's this from the wiki

It is assumed that one must be able to see Thestrals in order to utilise their hair, and since one must witness death first-hand to see a Thestral, anyone wishing to forge a wand with the hair must witness death, tying in with the story of being "Master of Death." It is unknown if the tail hair would be invisible to a wandmaker who had not seen death, as a Thestral would be, or if it can be seen once its separated from the Thestral

Honestly, I just don't think it's a good idea do have a Thestral hair wand >_>

I think that last paragraph is just referring to actually using the hair itself. As in, you can't exactly collect a thestral hair if you can't see it. As far as using the wand, I don't think that would affect it. Still though, to use a core that we only know to have been used in what is the most powerful wand anyone knows about is kind of much.

I mean according to official information, Ollivander only trusts the main three we know about to be of good quality. Yes we could have something else, but unless there's some justification I imagine any wand not using those three cores would cause some trouble with its owner.

Doesn't stop anyone from trying to be OP though. Having certain skills or knowledge to set your character apart is fine, but I think that basically having the potential to outdo everyone is risky.

Let me clarify my choices in my character:

I dislike looking things up on the wiki to decide my character, as I like to use my imaginative skills and creativity to mold any creation I make, That's why I chose the Thestral hair wand. Because it was one of the things I remembered from a cool HP ff, and Thestrals look badass in general.

If there's a problem with the choice, which there seems to be anyway, I'll go ahead and change it right now. Or on my phone. I have to go get gas.

There's this one problem I have, and I don't want to limit anybody's creativity or anything, but I don't think there should be an animagi. For one, it is EXTREMELY difficult to become an animagus and there's not much information on the process, but in the books there were no mentions of any animagi who were still in school when they became it other than the Marauders (Which don't count since they are kind of a special case). I mean, it could make more sense if you were in 7th year...though not by much. And think of school work, OWLs AND animagus training on top of it. Anyways, this is just my opinion.

I also saw this, and thought it a bit odd that she would be able to be one. I should really remember to mention concerns like this xP
