Uh, wee. It's up, and pending changes.
Dan can no longer revert to his original form, it was lost upon entering the House. He can however perform a partial change, that restores some of his former appearance and abilities.
His skin ripples, changing to a black colour, before solidifying to something that looks akin to leather. His right eye is completely covered and no longer visible, while the veins around his left bulge out even further to emphasize his only eye, which is now a metallic gold. Bulges also appear on his shoulders, as if something under the skin wanted to burst out. Should he reveal them, two eyes have also formed on the palms of his hands, one silver and the other bronze in colour.
Name: Dan Behr
Age: 27
Gender: Male (Though originally genderless)
Race: Beholderkin
Personality: Most noticeably, Dan has a sort of lethargic air around him at most times, although it does make him rather even-tempered. He doesn’t seem to have purpose, nor drive, but rather just goes with the flow, day by day. He can be an inquisitive individual when things catch his attention, but even this facet can’t withstand the laziness that underlies his being. In spite of this mood, Dan does perk up a bit noticeably when interacting with others, even if the lazy facade never really disappears.
Still, in spite of how lazy he may seem, Dan also possesses a cunning born from his inhuman nature. It isn’t true to say he hides behind a lazy facade because that laziness isn’t an act, but it’s simply one aspect of his personality that is expressed more.
History: The world Dan came from wasn’t a pretty one, and he can quite easily say it was a good thing he found the door rather than another one of his kin. His life prior to the discovery was one that involved mostly hiding, getting by, and avoiding the gaze of those vastly superior. It wasn’t horrible, in fact compared to the war torn world outside his lair, it was almost ideal. Still… it was terribly dreary.
His nature was unlike those of his kin, mellowed and peaceful in comparison to violent and hateful. Even without the constant war due to innumerable factions, he would have found no place amongst those similar yet vastly different to him. So, when a mystery presented itself in the form of a magical gateway, there was little for the Beholderkin to hesitate about.
Evidently the gateway did more than simply rip him from his world, not that he complained, but it also bent his essence and form. Whatever occurred couldn’t completely remold the Beholderkin, but it stole away some of “his” magic and changed his appearance.
Likes: Sleep. It’s an opportunity to let his inner bum out, and Dan is going to take all he can get.
Wandering about. His old world wasn’t one of many pretty sights, and of those that existed, the opportunities to see them were rare at best, and always dangerous.
Talking. Despite his phobia of physical contact, he’s much more open to conversation.
Dislikes: Bright lights. Sensitive eyes mean that lights that others can find bearable are physically painful or blinding to him. As such his rooms will usually be unlit, and he moves around from dusk to dawn if possible.
Messes. Inspite of his rather lackluster appearance, Dan is not one that will stand for uncleanliness. Even prior to this world his lair was well organized and sorted, and he seeks the same here.
Physical contact. While others might be uncomfortable with physical contact, Dan downright opposes and hates the sensation. It probably has something to do with the world he came from, but surprising him in this manner is a quick way to learn what a Beholder’s gaze holds, even if weakened.
Sexual Orientation: Doesn’t have one at the moment, so asexual.
