We're like your human cousins then because we pretty much stay in our forest/mountains. And murder/enslave anyone who enters. Also how do your people travel if they can't breath our oxygen

There's a shrub in the forests that produces leaves that can filter out the oxygen in the air and allow them to breath beyond the Forest of :C. Granted, they would not be operating at peak performance, but they are still able to travel and interact with those who live in the normal world.

Unless you go with a less-humanoid race, I'm assuming our people would share similar physical traits, mostly with my southern people, due to the climate we inhabit. I haven't really written anything on art or culture, so there's a clean slate to work on if you have any ideas.

Well I can see relations between our nation being strained Hounder. We wouldn't take kindly to you killing or enslaving any of our people, though not sure how often things would actually flare up into any sort of actual hostilities, since we'd just not go into your land.

Oh, and just to give a brief overview, my nation is going to be a nation of people (haven't decided on whether going human or non-human yet) who live on the shores of that inland sea. The aforementioned sea is completely devoid of life and blood red due to massive toxic red algae blooms. They tend to stick to themselves and take advantage of the region's central location and rich deposits of silver.

Sov, is it okay if i call you sov? --- It would be very strained, as silver is a valued commodity, though it wouldn't be large scale warfare mostly small bands of men raiding caravans, unprotected villages. Of course they're not military operations more of tests of courage and strength. Also a way to gain favor with high ranking people.

Alf --- that's pretty neat. I love how you built your species. Though what kind of flesh or chetin/shell (Possibly exoskeleton?) do they have?

---- and I'll be on late tomorrow night like 6:30pm eastern

Damn, they must be freezing. Unless they're naturally furry people.

No, they do wear winter clothing if they need to get out of their subterranean lava cities :D

Also, Alf, the border you drew for me looks funny :D I hope it won't be copied into the latest map.

Then relations... Devaldis-Spes was once an isolated nation in the southpole with the only contact through trade with small coastal villages, but has only in recent decades expanded out thanks in part to aggressive and criminal human activities. That said, its relations are as followed:

Devaldis-Spes - Tarixis-Narikuli: Contact in mythology eons ago, forming a breakaway people. Mythologically and by popular opinion, the Daemonrexa believes Tarixis-Narikuli to be the evil scum of the world.
Devaldis-Spes - Palmydia: No contact.
Devaldis-Spes - Ralgon: Seen but unmet. Will soon be sending a diplomat.
Devaldis-Spes - Vyrndar: No contact.
Devaldis-Spes - Isbis: Seen but unmet. Will soon be sending a diplomat.
Devaldis-Spes - Yul: Seen but unmet. Will soon be sending a diplomat.
Devaldis-Spes - Xai Qian: No contact.
Devaldis-Spes - Helcore: No contact.
Devaldis-Spes - Naqah: No contact.
Devaldis-Spes - Crayven: No contact.

Alright, so I've got my foreign relations in this post right here, soon to go into my NS.

Empire of Vyrndar -- Relations being discussed.

The Dominion -- Neutral; Passive Official Policies
----- Frankly, the Ralgons care little for the people inside. While those few they have encountered are friendly enough, their habitation certainly isn't. Entire ships and crews have gone missing when exploration of the area was first attempted, and now a strict ban exists on landing on the coast anywhere near that Forest. Light trade has likely taken place between explorers and the natives outside of the forest, who may have turned out to be incredibly friendly compared to the Ralgons.

Ibsis -- No Current Relations
----- Thorough exploration has likely taken place within the region, but thus far no official position has been taken towards this faction.

Devaldis-Spes -- Neutral
----- A fair amount of exploration has likely taken place within the northern parts of the region. However, the far southern reaches have proven too inclement for the Ralgons to stay for long, regardless of how well the natives might have treated them. The local pirates didn't help the unfriendly nature of the place, despite the lack of trouble they ended up causing the Ralgons. Thus far, no treaties have been signed between this nation and the Ralgons.

Hel-Core -- No current relations.
----- The Ralgons haven't made a habit of land trade across the Narrow Sea, and as such haven't formed any sort of direct relationships with these people, as they lack a coast.

[Grave's Nation] -- No current relations.
------ Seeing that the Ralgons have been averse to exploring inland of continents other than the one they primarily lay claim to, As such, no direct trade is likely conducted between the two factions.

Palmydia -- Friendly Relations
----- A long history of constant trade and anti-piracy pacts have sealed trade routes between the two maritime nations, thus freeing up the powerful Ralgon Navy for other endeavors, mostly having to do with keeping the Crayven threat to the north contained.

Xia-Quan -- NEED CURRENT RELATIONS
----- A great many encounters have taken place with its population, as well as thorough exploration. NEED CURRENT RELATIONS.

Naqah -- NEED CURRENT RELATIONS
----- Chances are that the Ralgons have conducted extensive sea-borne trade with these people. However, they haven't deemed it wise to form military relationships with them, seeing as most of their strength is centered around controlling the land through the use of land forces, rather than strong places and strong navies.

Crayvenhart Hostile, but not at war.
----- Long history of violent wars. However, other forces lately at work within this faction work well for the Ralgons, including mass immigration of Crayven rebels, highly profitable trade from dissidents, and exclusive control of the sea between the Crayvens and their main trading partners.

Kel-dorm Peaceful and friendly relations.
----- Very long history of trade and cooperation. Military cooperation (even if it's accidental) has lasted for centuries, helping regional stability and greatly boosting trade. Both factions have benefitted massively from this partnership, and the Ralgons don't plan on changing this any time soon.

Yeah you can call me that. And I can imagine that raiding happening. Though you'd have to be willing for there to have been a couple cases of my people sending in groups to raid a village or two in your land; leaving them burnt out wrecks with the entire population (men, women, and children) impaled on poles. They wouldn't target large or major settlements, just small unprotected settlements on the fringes. But my people are the type who are steadfast and trustworthy allies but will kill you in the most brutally long and drawn-out way possible if you become their enemy.

EDIT: And in case anyone missed it, my nation does have a name now. Qanaxma Dəniz; the Bleeding Sea.

Do note that the pirates are human beings though. Only a very rare few would be Daemonrexa, as their society does not condone taking away anyone's free will. That said, any Daemonrexa pirates would likely have struck terror in any human nations, as they can be... shall we say... Demented :D.

Hmm for the exploration expeditions, the Daemonrexa would have indeed treated them very well... very, very well indeed :). You might even add that some members of these expeditions might even have stayed on, becoming Daemonrexiacs (humans mutating into Daemonrexa-Human hybrids due to weeks of exposure to them).

Also, I'll update the foreign relations thing to this accordingly.

Wait... Why exactly do humans exposed to Daemonrexa mutate? How exactly do you explain that and why?

True, but the Ralgons aren't exactly human, and they are widely known for their navy. They like to visit places, and should they have a good reason to bring more than a few random exploration ships down there, trade might also take place... should the pirates be eradicated, of course.

Cosmic, would you be down for 'friendly' relation status with Palmydia? I figure we're both invested heavily in maritime operations; we could get regular trade routes established, maybe a counter-pirate alliance in our side of the world, etc.

Oh, and I think everyone would have at least heard of my nation, even if only rumours. Like, for example, all the Ralgons might know are tales of a people who live on the shores of a sea of blood.

Oh okay, but anything exposed to Daemonrexa will mutate into a hybrid between the two species. This includes animals and plants. It would be interesting to see what would happen once constant contact is established.

The Daemonrexa are a cousin species to the Tarix-Na. Due to mutations eons ago, they are able to exchange DNA with other living organisms. While their own DNA has eventually stabilised after enough exchange with humans, it's not so much for other species- and Daemonrexa continues to mutate them. This is done through pheromones, particles, physical contact, consumption of their food, mental marking, with each new factor introduced hastening the process. Within weeks, a human or elf would become a Daemonrexiac.

...I know there is some fantasy stuff allowed but in my opinion that seems to be pushing it a little bit. I mean, if Hazmat is fine with it I'll just roll with it but I'm just letting my opinion be known.

Okay, in the meantime, since your nation is so close to the dominion... Would this be acceptable?

Devaldis-Spes - Qanaxma: Contact in mythology eons ago, with the ancestors of the Daemonrexa forming unions with their people before and after their expulsion (which might be one reason for their expulsion), and after their expulsion, went to war with some villages and tribes from that region before migrating south. As such, mythologically and by popular opinion, the Qanaxma are both friend and foe, passionate lovers and equally passionate enemies.

Cosmic, could we be hostile? You could say that my nation shot at your exploration ship, thinking it was a pirate ship. My nation will always say that it was a mistake while you could say it wasn't and hate us. So you decided to be friendly with Aristo's nations instead of my nation.

Um, how long are we talking exactly? If it was long enough for your people to physically diverge from the people of the Dominion I don't think my people would have existed yet. Yeah, the physical race would have but not the current culture or civilization.
