Carolyn looked frantically between Dark, Ashlynn and Cancer, utterly bewildered.
"Initiative and a little bit of help, I guess." she said, trying not to sound too flattered. "But it seems like you lot are getting at something else now, with this talk about Egyptian attackers."

[D Disciple]

"We have had encounters with a group of Wanderers with Egyptian names, nearly killing us. Last night, Aphrodite, Jade, nurse girl and Ivy were victims last night, Ashlynn, Jade, Mable, Jacob, Leo and I were victims a month and a half ago. They took Ivy with them, and it could be possible that there is a connection between your research and these attackers."

"Wait. Did you just report a kidnapping?" demanded Carolyn, her face becoming paler.
There was no love lost between her and Ivy, that was true, but this recent development was most worrying. If Ashlynn and Cancer had been experimented on by this mysterious organisation that found it appropriate to use Egyptian hieroglyphs, then was it really a stretch to say that Ivy had been taken by the same people?
"What did they do to you in the lab?" she asked suddenly to Ashlynn. "What were they trying to accomplish?"

Cancer shrugged, his helmet's perpetual grin being completely inappropriate for the situation.

"Poked and prodded and tested on", Ashlynn replied. "I guess they were trying to figure out what made me tick. Or him, in his] case.", she said, pointing to Cancer.

"We were all isolated in our own cells, so we didn't interact with anyone at the lab. They gave us cute little code names that described our powers. It was your typical scientific, controlled environment. 99% of the time you couldn't get away with harming the researchers, let alone escape."

[D Disciple]

Dark shrugs "I guess, but as of now we're trying to get to the bottom of this Carolyn. Cancer what do you remember?"

Cancer shook his hands. Jazz hands style. "Nothing! Helpful, isn't it?"

"They called me mother right before they nearly killed me..", Ashlynn said, trailing off.

She then suddenly slammed her hands on the table. "Fuck! That's what they were doing at that lab! They figured it out! And that's why they want Ivy!"

Carolyn stared at the table in front of her, trying to absorb the information but feeling more confused by the second.
"They're kidnapping students so that they can, what, extract their powers?" she said quietly.

"Not extract. Copy. To give to themselves.", Ashlynn said solemnly. She then pointed to Cancer. "You! What's your power?"

"Black.. Magic?"

"No, your element!"

"..Dark magic?"

"...Fuck."

[D Disciple]

"Do you two remember where this lab is?"

"Please direct all historical inquiries to Caro, thank you!", Cancer said.

Ashlynn groaned at Cancer. "Yeah. Not much good that'll do you, though."

"They probably abandoned it as soon as she escaped, otherwise the entire operation would have been revealed." said Carolyn, her thoughts swaying to Ivy. What terrible things were they doing to her as they sat here, discussing her fate?
"I know for a fact that Ivy's a primary Dark user too. If they kidnapped her for that reason, it means that they couldn't copy Cancer's powers." explicated Carolyn. "Did they mention anything like that when they took her?"

[D Disciple]

"Jade did mention that. Damn it, we need to find this lab."

"I'm SPECIAL!", Cancer said excitedly as he clapped his hands.

Ashlynn rhythmically tapped her fingers on the table. "In more ways than one.. That's probably why they called you Cancer." She then turned to Carolyn. "It makes sense for them to be taking Wanderers to replicate powers for themselves. If they took Ivy, they need Dark magic since they couldn't get it from this guy. They called me their 'Mother', so I'm just going to assume my Psionic abilities were the first things they got their dirty little hands on."

She continued the rhythmical tapping. "I'll take you there. Looks like Cancer can't remember anything." Ashlynn leaned in closer and reached for Cancer's fake face. "What do you look like under that mask?"

Cancer slapped her hand away from him. "What do YOU look like under that helmet?"

Ashlynn moved her visor upwards, her green eyes coldly locking onto Cancer's eye visors. "Your turn."

"Noooooooooope."

"Going there will be a waste of time." asserted Carolyn, pushing her chair back and trying not to wince at the screech. "I've got to see Professor Valmont. Someone needs to get Ivy on a missing persons list. Detention's over."
And with that, Carolyn sauntered through the kitchen door, heading to the Black Mage guild.

Dark wasn't convinced, for all he know he could find more clues on this group, he looks over at Ashlynn and Cancer.

"Ashlynn, where is it?"

"Smack in the middle of The Slums", Ashlynn replied. "It looks like a warehouse on the outside, but back in the day it was pretty well-kept and clean on the inside."

"Are we going on an adventure?!", Cancer asked excitedly.

She looked at him and smirked. "Looks like it. But let's just get a bigger group going. I don't want to get my throat ripped out again."

[D Disciple]

-DING-

The timer that Dark set up goes off and he pulls out a fresh batch of cinnamon rolls with his telekinesis, he sets them on the counter to cool off before he looks back at Ashlynn and Cancer.

"We'll leave tonight."

With that Dark turns around and grabs a few cinnamon rolls, and heads out of the kitchen.

"The rest are for you guys."

Dark left the scenario

"IT'S ADVENTURE TIME", Cancer sang as he grabbed a few pastries and bolted out the door. "C'MON GRAB YOUR FRIENDS-"

Ashlynn flipped down her visor and smiled slightly as she calmly took her share of the cinnamon rolls. Things were getting interesting, and it has been a long time since she has had the closest thing to friends.

20. Dark got done with the preparations for tonight. He has on a black cloak, and mask, he sits back at the roof top of an abandoned theater in the slums waiting for the rest of the group to show up. A simple recon mission and nothing else.

Scenario #20

Ashlynn landed softly onto the roof of the theater. It was a cold night, fitting especially since it was winter, and she was wearing her black coat over her usual outfit. Despite not having brought her motorcycle, she still wore her helmet, the moon and stars reflecting in her visor.

"I left a note on that one punk girl's dorm room door", she said to Dark. "Just in case she wanted to come."

As Ashlynn landed, Cancer floated about on a R3NDR panel, sitting cross-legged while other panels followed. He waved at the group silently, body emitting electricity, and constantly circled around the rooftop in a tight turning radius as he waited for the others.
