The Academy for the Life Fiber Compatible, commonly referred to as 'The LFA' by the students and a few of the more laid back faculty. A massive school built to easily house thousands of students from all around the world with the expressed mission to train them in the skills that may one day allow them to save the world from the very life fibers these students wear as a badge of their worth. Over the top, outlandish, and seem like something built by an scientist from a 80's cartoon show. It's the perfect place to test your strength and prove your might ot the world. Oh, and you will get a excellent education, grads and stuff...yeah. So, will you prove yourself to be the next champion of earth against the threat of evil life fibers or will you become the next threat yourself. Only time will tell. Class is starting, you better not be late.

STUDENT COUNCIL OFFICE

A large, dimly lit room Divided into 5 section, though there is clearly space for more. One spot decorated with Soccer equipment, another with art supplies and canvases, and one that was simply a wrestling wring. The other two sections were empty of any kind of objects.

"SO!" spoke a female voice from the wrestling corner of the room "A new Semester at our exciting little school. And we are down two councilmember's. Graduated and on the bigger better and far more boring things. The question stands. Do we bring in new members? And if we do, shall we welcome more or less into our fold than 4?" A young woman walked into the light, standing dead center in the wrestling ring. She was a tall, lanky girl with bright blond hair, dressed in a tattered black clothing with 3 white stars along her center like a belt.

"Less people means more work for us." Said a female voice from the artsy side, a strawberry blond girl was on her knees painting on a large canvas resting on the floor. "It would be more efficient to bring in some new members. Besides, we will be graduating to before too long. We need to ready the next generation."

"Hmmmm, A good point. But I don't know if anyone out there is ready for this kind of responsibility." Said a voice rather plainly. Clearly male, from the soccer themed corner "I am confident we can handle the schools issues our selves. Better to make sure all the ducks are in a row before having to worry about new blood." A red headed boy took a seat just before a large soccer goal.

"Heh!" laughed the blond girl, leaning against the rope of her ring. "A vote for yes and a vote for no. First day of the new semester and already so interesting." School bells began to ring, the think blinds shielding the student council from the light of morning began to rise as the signal for school to begin echoed out through across the expansive campus. "I guess we'll wait and see, if we need the extra hands...or if we someone worthy steps forward." a wide smile came across her sharp features "Class is session everyone, lets get to it."

Early morning, beams of light shone harshly into a small bedroom of one of the LFA's many student dorms. A single bed sat next to the window with an end table beside the head of the bed, and a small dresser with several drawers at the foot, the top most drawer remaining open with garments hanging haphazardly from it. Hanging from the ceiling beside the bed was a mechanism resembling a clothes hanger with two vertical cases on either side. On the wall opposite the bed hung an iconic outfit, emblazoned with two stars on the shoulders and an elaborate harness folded neatly below it with a sheathed sword resting against the corner of the wall.

Covers atop the bed stirred, a discontented groan sounded lightly through the room. Beneath the the covers Mato rose with a quick lurch up, coming to sit at the edge of the bed and causing the blanket that covered her to fall to the floor beside her. In response to the sudden and unwelcome motion her body doubled over, her forehead nearly meeting her knees as she let out a shaky gasp, her legs quivering weakly. If the girl were fortunate to have kept her arms she would have had them clutched firmly around her stomach. Instead she could merely grit her teeth, red seemingly metal plates which sat embedded into the stumps where her shoulders once resided and extended to cover her collar and shoulder blades glinting in the morning sun. Her breath remaining ragged for a few minuets before finally growing more steady finally allowing the girl to sit upright. She tapped a button beside the bed with her foot. A second later a light lit up on the mechanism beside her bed followed by clicks and whirrs of machinery filling the room. The device lowered until the enclosed cases sat beside her shoulders and unfolded revealing two purely silver prosthetic arms, aside from the connection pins and base which showed the same vibrant red as the ports at her shoulders.

With a series of swift movements the arms were aligned to her shoulders and connected to the ports. Mato winced a bit as they tightened into place, the fingers of the arms spasming as control flooded through them. Mato flexed and manipulated the prosthetic hands until proper dexterity returned, only then pushing herself up from the bed to gather her clothes and dress. With a few unsteady steps she moved to the wall where her two star uniform hung, stumbling as she approached and bracing herself against the wall with her freshly attached arms. ”I really hate mornings.” Mato scoffed as she snatched her uniform from the hanger with a free hand and held herself up against the wall with the other. Quickly as she could, which unfortunately never started out quickly she began to don her uniform. First her skirt, followed by stockings, then her shirt and finally the red scarf wrapped around her neck. With each piece of clothing slipped on her movements grew more steady until she could stand steadily enough to retrieve the harness which housed her auxiliary prosthetics and fix it to her waist, the arms folded around her hips like a belt.

When all was said and done Mato stepped over to her night stand and opened a case set upon it. Inside the case were seven slots, each containing a needle housing a thick red liquid. Grabbing one she pulled the safety cap from the needle, pushed her scarf aside and brought the tip to her neck. Carefully she pressed the needle into her vein and pushed down on the plunger, the bright red fluid slowly vanishing into her body. After tossing the needle into the trash and waiting a few moments Mato began to stretch, her joints giving a series of snaps and pops, her entire body seeming strengthen. With a final quick glance at the clock beside her bed Mato snatched her sword from the wall and exited the room.
Around ten minuets later Mato strode up to a series of buildings almost at the very back of the LFA school grounds. A large, almost windowless central building housing a sign simply reading 'Synthetics Club' above the main entrance served as the focal point of the area. Several smaller buildings sat around the central building, entrances kept locked and entrance only permitted through halls connected to the main building. Mato quickly moved up to the main entrance and swiped a keycard at the double doors causing them to click open with a chime.

Upon entering the girl was greeted with the familiar hum and chug of machinery working in the production areas. Immediately passed the main entrance was a sort of receptions desk which was usually manned by a no star student seeking entrance to the club. Beyond the front lobby the main building housed various machines designed for mass work on life fibers, the most prominent use being the hardening of life fibers for use in their own projects and the occasional shipment to other clubs. Adjacent buildings held a variety of more specialized buildings dealing in experimental or more delicate works.

With a wave and a smile to the student who seemed to stiffen reflexively at her entrance Mato proceeded back to the working areas of the main building. A series of huge spools ran life fibers through machines in mass, weaving the fibers tighter and tighter until proving near unbreakable. At her entrance two of the near by students ran to meet her. ”Production seems smooth, how are the projects going?.” Mato said as she began to make her way around the room, glancing over machines and checking calibrations while the students went over various significant projects in turn.

“This batch of fibers is a nice quality, its taking well to the hardening process so we've sent some of it to work as the base for synthesis.” A female one star spoke up first, flipping through some notes before nodding to a male one star that accompanied her. "The synthesizing process is still shaky but its looking a lot better than it did a few months ago. We're working on improving efficiency at the moment.” The male student continued as they reached the hall to the experimental labs near the back of central productions.

”Great, I'll leave it to you then. I'll be back later to check the batches.” Mato stated with a nod to the students who returned the gesture, heading back to their work while chatting between themselves. She then headed through the hall to the experimental labs, greeting a two star student who was managing the labs as she entered. ”I'm already running off schedule, how did the Nano-Fiber tests go?” She stated curiously, once again looking over the devices in the world and making various adjustments.

“The splitting process went decently but we had a lot of waste for the small batches we prepared. One of the labrats we tested on was overwhelmed and died. The other is living but its displayed some odd symptoms.” The two star student spoke with a bit of a sigh, giving a somewhat weary shrug at the less then optimal news. Mato ran a hand through her hair, ruffling it a bit before signing herself. ”Still too risky to try on anyone else then. I'll have to keep working on the formula. Send me the data so I can look over it later.” She replied before glancing at a clock on the wall, grimacing a bit as she only now noticed the chime for classes to begin masked under the hum of machinery.

Just as she was about to turn and rush out the door the two star student spoke up once more, catching her attention. “Captain, you're using the nano-fibers aren’t you? How have you been fairing with them?” Mato looked back curiously, blinking for a moment before grinning and giving a thumbs up. ”I'm feeling right as rain! No need to worry about me, I know what I'm doing.” She said confidently before heading out the labs back door and sprinting off to the academy's main grounds...

It had been an early morning for the Chess Club President.

Somehow there had been more than a few of the aspiring one stars in the club trying to rank up in a single night, both by attempting to take out a higher ranked two-star and destroying as much of the clubroom as possible. By the time the fires had been put out, he'd been rudely awakened to discipline the younger students. Needless to say, neither bore any semblance of a star on their uniforms anymore. It also resulted in why he was standing in the courtyard as the bell rang, signalling the swarm of no-stars to start their incessant march to class.

Jordan's smile faded into a thin-lipped smirk as he recalled the incident. It wasn't every day that the long-haired young man got the chance to show of his uniform's capabilities.

Wrapped in thought, he disdainfully set out across the courtyard, not bothering to reveal himself to the lower stars. Even their swarming ways as they flowed toward their classes in a massive rush did naught but provide a mild irritation that prodded at his need to maintain order. He'd need allies in high places to sort this sort of rabble out permanently. Perhaps I should try to catch the Student Council's eye? Or perhaps an underclassman who looks like they are going places. Either was a good option...The smile hardened even as Jordan considered the most tantalizing option. ...Why not both?

The smile remained stuck in the plastic expression of a politician that was carefully plotting his opponent's downfall as he spotted one of the notable up-and-comers in the crowd, the rather unassuming president of the 'Synthetics'(He inwardly cringed at the idea, he'd hate to have even his own uniform internalized. Life Fibers were dangerous.) club. The rest was simply a matter of deduction. If he wanted a pawn in of a similar rank, he'd do worse than the one who was already jockeying for a higher-ranked uniform. With the smile forming into something more genuine, the chessmaster carefully took a step forward, blocking the sprinting girl's path.

"Do you really think this is advisable, Amaya?"

One girl's voice sounds out clearly above the bustle of the school crowds, commanding a sense of authority suited for one of her position. Suzuhara Suzuha, Captain of the Occult Research Club, stands half-facing a red-haired boy in the middle of the courtyard. A faint smile is visible on her face, firmly displaying an air of confidence and amusement at how things have turned out before her. The boy, Kazami Shouji, glared at her as if she was his mortal enemy, his hand clasped on the collar of his two-star uniform threateningly.

"I love you, Suzuha-senpai! But...I...I want to join the student council! I want to lead my own club! I hate how you always soak all of our efforts and resources into silly, worthless research...so me and Ren are going to take you down, and take the captain spot for ourselves! Right, Ren!?

As he calls out for his friend, another boy steps into the open circle surrounding the two. This youth's uniform shows only a single star, but his eyes are full of determination to help his friend, and he too seems ready to fight to make their dream happen...

"It doesn't seem to be anything I can say to stop you from going through with this, so I suppose I must do what I can to protect my position as Captain. It isn't something I'd like to do, but this is a wonderful experience in itself, isn't it?" Suzuha moves towards the center of the courtyard while she talks, hair waving in the wind as she casually fingers the stars on her collar and keeps her eyes trained on her underclassmen. Suddenly, as if something was different from before, the two boys scream and lunge forwards-

"I'm sorry, senpai-" "-but, we have to do this! No matter what!"

Ren, the boy clad merely in a one-star uniform, dashes forwards with his enhanced speed to try to attack Suzuha before she transforms. Meanwhile, Amaya mirrors his Captain's previous action and fingers the collar of his two-star uniform decisively. He doesn't simply announce his transformation, he yells it as loud as he could possibly manage, virtually exploding in fighting spirit as his uniform expands around him-

"Esper Spec Two-star Goku Uniform- FULL POWER!"

The very air in the courtyard seems to heat up as Amaya's uniform manifests its full strength. While before he had simply looked like a bit of a delinquent, now his entire head seemed to have burst into violent flames, a pair of red-tinted goggles worn snugly over his blue eyes. Finger-less gloves and a red-lined trench coat were the defining features of his uniform, that and the fact that his head had been turned into a grinning fireball. Despite Ren's head start, he almost instantly closes the distance between him and his Club Captain, screaming her name as he brings his now-flaming fist backwards to strike her.

Despite the terrifying sight lying before her and multiple enemies rapidly closing in on her position, Suzuha's faintly glimmering expression doesn't change even in the slightest. Anybody watching would think that she was either a complete idiot, or that she knew something decisive that the crowd didn't. The answer to this question became evident in the instant before Amaya's flaming fists made contact. Her uniform, that had remained unchanged through the entirety of their short exchange, was glowing brightly now. Her lab coat fluttered in an unseen gale, and familiar glints of light seem to consume her body as she casually speaks her uniform's designation-

"Occult Spec Two-Star Uniform, Deploying."

An explosion of light, followed by a gust of wind and static electricity. Using the split second during which everybody was blinded by the light of her transformation, Suzuha rapidly formulates the calculations necessary to erect a magical barrier, one strong enough to offset the incoming attack from her hotheaded underclassman. There's a second burst of wind and heat as Amaya's fists collide with his Captain's sudden barrier, flames suddenly bursting into existence all around them as the Pyrokinetic's powers take hold in the surrounding air. He knows his attack has failed, but he can't bring himself to back down now, even though he knows what was about to happen. In the last moment of his fight, he accepts the punishment for his attempted coup, and simply stands there as the smoke from his attack begins to clear...

Exposed to the watchful eyes of the now massive crowd, Suzuha's hastily erected barrier instantaneously shatters, but she knows that she has already bought herself enough time to prepare her counterattack. As the dust settles, the many no-stars and one-stars alike are given a chance to see what had caused the earlier explosion of light- A Two-Star uniform, worn by a Club Captain no less. A few people gasp, but not at the sight of her strangely revealing and shining magical-girl uniform. In her hand, a great glow of violet light seemed to be gathering, and her sparkling finger was pointed directly at her two assailants. More and more light gathers around her pointer finger, until it became hard to even make out her form behind the brilliant aura of energy. This attack could only be one thing, and a few Occult Research Club members in the club prepare themselves to yell out the attack's name when it finally finished preparing. Suzuha's mouth draws up into a slightly larger smile as her attack finishes charging, and she takes a moment to call out its name, as was formally required for such an attack-

"MAGIC BUSTER!"

The crowd explodes into cheers, many savvy individuals calling out the attack's name with her as a massive ray of violet light swallows up her two underclassmen whole. The ground seems to shake with the awesome power of her attack, and most have to avert their eyes as the explosive shock wave of wind and heat erupt from the Buster's epicenter. The huge ray takes a few moments to die down in radiance, and by the time it's finished decimating the center of the courtyard, the two who dared stand in its wrath lay on the ground lightly smoking. They weren't dead, but the raw magical power had fried their body to the brink of death, knocking them unconscious and leaving many parts of their bodies exposed to the elements. Standing triumphantly in the center of the mess that had formed was her, the Magical Girl of the Occult Research Club, the girl who had never been defeated. The stars on her hat and thigh glint simultaneously in the sunlight, as if agreeing with the aura of power surrounding her in that instant. This was the Academy for the Life Fiber Compatible, where battles like this were almost commonplace, occurring a few times every week or so as an aspiring club leader challenged the top spot to further their position in the school's internal hierarchy...

"We really should be heading to class, don't you think? It would do nobody much good if you were to all be late for class, would it?"

As Mato sprinted off through the schools main courtyard she noted the mass of students now making their way through the area, thankful that she at least was able to be ahead of the wall of students. Even with a higher ranking uniform, making your way through that massive crowd was an experience she didn’t miss from her days as a lower ranking student. Lost in thought for a moment she almost didn’t have time to notice student stepping directly into her path. When she did notice the girls eyes widened, a foot slamming against the ground as she forced an abrupt stop, letting out a startled ”Woah!” as she stumbled a bit.

Her expression shifted to mild annoyance when she looked to the student that blocked her path, a long haired young man dressed in a three star uniform. She was about to reprimand the obviously higher ranking student before something else caught her attention, a series of shouts and explosions which ended with a huge beam of light tearing through the courtyard not that far behind herself and the three star that had blocked her path. Mato's expression shifted once again, eyes following the beam back to its origin point. She sighed shaking her head and placing a hand on her forehead as she did so. ”Whys someone always gotta blow something up first thing in the morning? I could have ran right into that.” She remarked casually before turning her attention back to the three star, her head tilting curiously.

”So, do you need something? I'm kinda in a hurry, gonna be late at this way. If its just materials request or something could you just leave a message over at Synthetics front desk?” The captain spoke as if this sort of thing was routine. Synthetics got their fair share of requests for hardened life fibers from other clubs, but plenty of them seemed to think bugging the captain was a way to get quicker results. Probably the result of the previous captain Mato always thought with a bit of disdain. The two star leaned to the side looking over the aftermath of the early morning scuffle, hands set on her hips. ”Plenty more are gonna be late though, so I guess it doesn’t matter.” She said, mostly talking to herself. Still she couldn’t help but smirk slightly at the unfortunate one-stars who were barreled over by the blast and the students scurrying about either trying to help their classmates out or just not be late.

”Anyway, if you need something I guess I'll deal with it now, Mr.Three-Star. I'm gonna be late anyway so what is it.” Mato said before gesturing off towards the school with her thumb and taking a few steps off herself. ”C'mon, Talk'n'Walk, I'm a busy lady you know!” She said with a grin, waiting for the three-stars reaction.

As the young Elder turned to stare down his potential ally, something very big rippled through the air as he heard the chanting of the second one of the possible three-stars. Just his luck, apparently. As he turned to look at the resulting explosion and the rippling ray of destruction that slaughtered the two stars that dared to face it's wrath, he began to reconsider which of the two he approached. At least this one doesn't throw overcharged beams at attackers. I don't suppose beggars can be choosers. Might as well make the best of what I've got. He barely noticed that he had grabbed the attention of his intended target, the abrasive president of the Synthetic's Club.

"So I..." Jordan's words were nearly lost to the wind as he noticed that his underclassman had just prompted him to move. "Er, see." He quickly relaxed into a more casual slump, making sure to look the Synthetic's club president up and down before continuing with his walk. "I suppose what brings me here today is a combination of good manners and curiosity. For the former, I've been told that you, Miss Watanabe Mato of the Synthetic's Club, will soon be joining the ranks of the Three-Stars if all goes well? Thus I've come here to offer my congratulations if all goes well." His smile broadened into a warm grin, looking for all the world like he was simply happy to have a potentially new comrade.

The next moment, the Three Star's demeanor shifted considerably. The soft smile of a welcoming upperclassman vanished into the tight-lipped smirk of a businessman. The hooded eyes hardened as Jordan's voice became measured and calm. "The latter is not so easily solved. What do you want from becoming a three-star? The power that comes with it? The lodging? The respect of your peers? All desirable, of course." He leaned closer, his pale eyes fixed directly on hers with unblinking intensity. "...But what makes you want the much accredited third star?"

Jordan leaned back from his intense question, falling again into the lazy stroll toward the building. The cold exterior vanished faded into the ether as he casually waited for his answer.

When the three star began to follow and move into the purpose of his abrupt interruption of her morning sprint Mato raised a brow, looking back to the young man with a shrug of the shoulders before slipping her hands behind her head. ”Thats what I'd hope but I haven't got a clue what those guys up on the council are planning. Too early for congratulations, probably plenty of people lookin' to bump their way up.” The Synthetics club captain stated plainly before letting her hands fall back to her sides, pulling open one of the large double doors that served as the entrance to the academy.

Noticing the shift in the Three Star's attitude, Mato's eyes narrowed a bit while she stopped just a short ways beyond the door way, her arms crossing tentatively at her chest. ”What do I want? It'd help out the whole club, really. Closer connection to the student council makes it easier to get higher quality materials which in turn makes all of our projects grow smoother.” She spoke unflinchingly despite the intent stare which she met with nearly the same casual gaze and demeanor she held from the beginning. ”Besides, it could benefit those three as well as plenty of the other clubs too. Synthetics has already collaborated with other clubs in the past, if we were able to expand not only could we work more efficiently, we could afford to refine and distribute more often.” With her statement concluded she turned once again to her casual stroll into the school building, stopping to glance over notes posted on a large bulletin board for a moment.

”So, I think it'd be beneficial for everyone. I get the higher rank and uniform, my club gets more resources, not to mention I could afford to rank up some of my promising one-stars as well. Then the rest of the academy gets easier access to our work, if they want it.” She said with a bit of a grin, plucking some handouts from the wall before folding them up and shoving them into a pocket. ”But what about you, Mr. Three-Star. Do all of you guys have time to come chat up the underclassmen?” She turned back to face the boy, leaning against the table that sat before the bulletin board. ”If I'm as busy as I am, and I definitely am, I don't imagine you guys have any more time to waste. So theres got to be more you want to get from this little visit.” She stated inquisitively, waiting for the other students response.

It was early in the morning of an average day at LFA, most of the student commotion was gathered outside as students moved from their dorms to their morning classrooms, no doubt causing all sorts of riots. However some early birds were already hovering about in the Academy facilities, perhaps for practice in the case of the gym halls, or for the library a late cram session in an attempt to avoid being scalded in an upcoming test. While said library had a few students scuttling around, one particular table was being actively avoided by all, in fact not just the table but a fair section of the library near it was being avoided, one could almost see a menacing Aura emanating from the table. And yet one male sat at the table, slumped in his chair with an open book lying on his face. He might have even been a corpse if his chest didn't rise and fall periodically giving away his status as well and truly alive.

Suddenly the library shook from the shockwave of some violent attack, it wasn't much compared to some of the crazy collateral damage often caused during fights, but it was enough to slip the book from the previously mentioned student's features, revealing a rather dazed male. Despite his eyes being open, it took them a few seconds to register the beams of light now hitting them after the makeshift nightcap slipped off. Rather than jolt to attention, the student woke up sluggishly, as if his body was going through each body part one by one taking it's sweet time re-energizing it. "Huh? This isn't the Dormitory..." He slowly pushed himself to his feet after announcing his revelation and craned his head to observe his current surroundings, "Ah, you kept me up at night again" He murmured in a voice that almost begged to be put back to sleep. Then it finally hit him, "Wait, that was a pretty big hit", then His features immediately lit up, fully awakened "Did I just miss a cool fight!?" With nothing more to ask the thin air, the male shot off in the direction of the Library exit, and the rest of the students seemed to collectively let out a pent up sigh of relief.

He slid to a stop by the nearest window overlooking the academy's courtyard, just in time to catch the last few whips of energy from a certain captain's Magic Buster, A rowdy crowd had gathered, but it was easy enough to make out the unfortunate, charred victims. "Aw damnit, Cap' got into a good scrap and I missed it" He made no attempt to hide his disappointment as he scowled through the window, even tapping his foot furiously. He immediately spun around on his heels and grabbed the nearest passer, a scrawny looking student who was most likely a 0 star, 1 star would have been better. "Yo, chump, know what it feels like to be a human punchbag?" The kid could barely start to splutter out a garbled sentence before a vicious grin tore across the aggressor's face, and he punched the student through the nearby wall into the female toilets, leaving him out cold in a cubicle with a few accompanying shrieks. "Ah, Nothing like a good punch in the morning" He said aloud before darting off down the corridor, two stars glinting on his slightly crumpled looking uniform, if one was listening, you would faintly hear "Hey what is first class anyway?" from further down the corridor.

As to where he was really running to, well naturally the courtyard of course. Medical officers were already whisking away the two brave, or stupid, lads when he got there and the culprit was already on the move, not that she was hard to track what with the trail of her own personal fanclub leading the way. Despite the fact that she was still swarmed by admirers our man, Yuuta, slipped through before anyone had taken notice and loudly congratulated the captain. "Yohooo, captain, getting to roast a pair of scrubs early in the morning! That must be a sign of good luck, who shot first?" He queried with a grin oblivious to the rest of the surrounding students.

"Oh...?"

Careful planning and a predisposition toward matters of politics, even at this low-level, left only a small margin for Jordan to be happily surprised. For that, he was thankful to the younger girl. It was nice to be wrong about people if there was an unexpected advantage to that newly-gained knowledge. Especially if that meant that his proposed comrade was even better than he expected. Concealing his momentary lapse in focus with another well-regulated smile, the three-star thought for a moment before responding to her inquiry.

"...You are correct to assume that I have... other goals. However, they are rather simple, and I see no reason not to inform you of them." He carefully measured his breathing, making sure that he took long and slow breaths, planning each step as he paced back and forth in front of Mato. "In the most uncomplicated form, I want to get into the student council, for much the same reason that you want the coveted third star. What I want from you, and what you can expect from me, is a mutually beneficial arrangement." He waved a hand, attempting to come up with the correct wording for his proposal. "An alliance, if you will."

Jordan's pale eyes flashed as he elucidated, absently playing with the edges of his over-wide collar. "Scratch my back by supporting my rise to the council, and I'll scratch yours by pushing forth the recommendation that you be bumped up to Three-Star."

Mato fell silent as the upperclassman begin to outline his goals, her gaze following carefully as he paced back and forth while speaking. Her arms crossed to her chest once again, index finger tapping against her forearm with a faint metal clink each time. When he finished speaking she remained silent for a bit more, mulling the proposition over in her head. Eventually she broke her silence with a light sigh. ”I'm not against working with other clubs but for something like this I'm going to need something more than just someones word.” The young woman stated bluntly as she pushed back to standing from the edge of the table.

”If I support you and things go awry it risks damaging my credibility as well. The same thing could be said in reverse. And I'm sure theres plenty of people trying to earn their way into student council that wouldn’t by above a bit of slander.” Mato continued with a shrug of the shoulders. ”If we're gonna have a deal, we're gonna have to talk details first. And I'm sure in the middle of a busy lobby isen't the best place for that.” With a light laugh she gestured towards the doors which frequently swung open as students filed into the school building, quickly scurrying off in the direction of their respective classes.

”Luckily for you the clubs handling enough of our projects right now that I've actually got time for meetings!” The club president said in a half jokingly prideful tone, her hands set on her hips as she smirked before pulling a datapad from a pouch attached to her harness and tapping away at the screen for a moment. ”I think I've got time this afternoon when classes break for lunch. Or I could just skip out on science, teacher owes me a favor anyway. After class I've gotta set up synth for tomorrows batch...” Mato continued to thumb through her datapad muttering to herself a bit as she worked out her own hectic schedule.

As soon as Mato mentioned the hallway, the carelessly casual upperclassman gave a derisive snort of laughter. "It's a lot harder to overhear something dangerous in a casual meeting in a crowded hallway than it is to overhear something while "accidentally" stumbling upon a pre-arranged private conference." He shrugged as she continued, making sure she had finished before he voiced the rest of his comment. "That being said, I'll bow to your preference here. Strictly speaking, I have nothing to do during the afternoon break, and I have no doubt I could get out of whatever class I need to if need be."
