They descended from the sky in monoliths of epic proportions, with weapons and technology of a race purely focused on the idea of war. With ideals of diplomacy and peace suppressed, they focus only on conquest and acquisition of power. A society built around subjugating and defeating others must have the mentality and power to do it. Their empire has grown to span countless planets and solar systems, each planet's population is enslaved and forced to work for better status. Others of different skillsets are taken. Seeing those they defeat as weak barbarians, they treat them as little less than animals, those who do not obey them, are against them and are crushed in order to protect the state.
Through millennia of warfare and battle it is said they have forgotten who they once were, their flag details their long abandoned home system and once stood for morals of justice and liberty, now it symbolizes fear and conflict. With no culture of their own they take the ideas of those they have defeated all for the glory of the state. They are the conquerors, the oppressors, they are the Humani, masters of the Earth Empire. "For War, For Glory, For the State, For Earth."
Surprise! Sometime in the far future, humanity has abandoned our favorite little blue and green ball in favor of the stars. Through time, humanity has become an empire resembling the Roman Empire with little bits of Nazi Germany here and there.
I'm a bit tired of humanity getting to be the cliche underdog defeating the evil forces of the alien empire, and thought it would be a much different perspective if Humanity (or what their race is now called, the "Humani") were the remorseless asshat aliens from outer space. So in this RP, we will be playing as various 'people' from many of the alien races in the galaxy who have been defeated by the Humani.
You will be captured and defeated and placed in the slave class within the Earth Empire, afterwards you will be sold as gladiators to some small Coliseum on a slave-trading world in the very outskirts of the Empire's territory. Defeated and forgotten they expect you to die there for the enjoyment of the audience.
So this is the basic idea as of now, interest will be taken happily.
