So I have a strong interest in playing in or running a classic world of darkness game. I know this has been tried before, but I didn't figure it would hurt to try again.

Either:
Vampire: the masquerade (or a mixed game based around it)

Werewolf: wild west

Or Demon: the fallen 1x1

If you decide to run a VtM game, I will likely join it. Been itching to go back to that lately, since my in-person gaming group has moved on to other games and systems.

DarkEternity used to run VtM games, see if he'd be willing to run one as well. I'd play in it.

sudaphedrine, and gothpuppy have also shown interest in a VtM game before...

Kiasyd are cool. Don't know if necronevermore wants to include bloodlines or not. (Though on the note of what I'm interested in playing, I have an Assamite character that fits pretty well into Camarilla-centric plots due to his goals.)

I was thinking a Kiasyd character (or at least one similar in concept) as my time online tends to be sporadic. Kiasyd are hardly creatures of action, but are great fonts of knowledge.

Ew to nastiness... sigh. I May allow bloodlines, even sabat based ones, but that will have to depend on how everyone want to play it. I have a town. Camarilla will be new to it. I can either run a cammy game, or independents dealing with the coming cam influences, or something else.

And glad to have you aboard justice. I've seen your work on the old rpg and I like your style.

Thank you!

I will also plead the case that the Kiasyd are more independent than Sabbat. The only reason they were in the Sabbat books was because of their connection with Lasombra, whose reaction to their altered cousins is generally the attitude of "just don't go there." (Grins)

Noted, and I read up on them in the anniversary edition, so it's book didn't influence my consideration. I also understand the drive for the outside as one of my favorite characters is a salubri priest with 10 humanity and true faith.

I have a hand full of independent locals who will meet on their own in regards to the coming cammies that I don't mind making the setting of the rp, but if I do that, everyone will have to be ok with it.

I also have another idea, though I would need a lot of help, patience, and understanding that I am not a history buff, about taking a few of the immortals (vamp, mummy, wraith, kuajin, and possibly demon) and taking them through dark ages, wild west, then modern. But that is a very new thought and I haven't fully considered it all.

Hey, I like that idea! (History buff that I am.) Immortals that meet once every hundred years to compare notes with one another and view how the world has changed! I wonder how well Dark Age: Fae would translate to modern times...

About as well as demon the fallen would transfer to dark age, I imagine. Though I agree dark age fae was a lot better than changeling. But are the fae immortal? How does that work with their hosts? I'm still trying to figure out how the host thing works with aging in demon. It says they age, but are immune to decomposition so they don't grow weak and useless... so do they age to their peak were the body stops growing and making new cells then stops aging?

History is definitely not my thing. My character would not fit in with that sort of thing at all.

I'd prefer a Camarilla-centered game, but if everyone else wanted to do Independents reacting to Camarilla coming into town, I suppose I could be interested in that. Maybe. It would likely exclude Assamites, however, seeing as they more or less need special permission from the Camarilla to leave the Middle East without basically starting a blood hunt for the whole clan... The Assamites kinda got boned by that deal they made with the Camarilla to stop that full-fledged war in the first place.
