This is an idea I had today on the way home so read it cautiously as I don't really have much of a story yet, just the idea. Criticisms and ideas are welcome.
Basically this takes place in the Marvel/DC/Whatever-Other-Comic-Book/Superhero-Movie-Company-You-Can-Name universe and nothing happened the way it was meant to. Mutants, heroes and villains are everywhere, but not in the place or way they should be. You can be any character you want, but you are not allowed to change their powers or the basic elements of their personality, everything else is fair game though.
Here's an example/character sheet template:
All I did was make Peter a girl, twist his sense of justice a little bit so he would become a villain/terrorist and change her family lineage and the source of her powers, she's still essentially the same as Peter, just under different circumstances.
(Please note that Pamela is not the character I intend to use, she was just an example so Spidey is still available, though multiples of one character might get interesting so feel free to use a base character someone else already used and we'll see how it goes. I will put mine at the bottom of the opening OOC post if this thing gets going)
None of the notable organisations that existed in these universes exist anymore (ie. the Xavier Institute, the Brotherhood, SHIELD) so it will be up to the players to band together and make up their own or recreate the old ones in the image of their new characters.
This is for everyone doing amalgam characters:
If your two combined characters have more powers than are sensible then tone it down a bit. Your character shouldn't be too strong. If you want to do an amalgam let's maybe try and limit powers (I won't be strict on this, it's just a guideline and if you keep it within certain boundaries it'll be fine) to one offensive ie: cyclops' laser vision or Wolverine's claws one defensive power ie: Wolverine's healing factor and one miscellaneous power like Wolverine's adamantium skeleton, even though it's not a power it's a modification we'll count it as a power
Also, try to limit the number of characters you're combining to two, no more unless it has a reason that will serve some kind of sub-plot.
