This is a rather quiet place you got here. Mind if I join your group? I've just lost my most recent one to the walkers.
Lol, but jokes aside (I really am on the verge of leaving an RP though due to factors beyond my control), I've got a few ideas for a character, and I'm wondering which ones you guys would prefer...
Valentina Vetrov (The Wild Child): This 10 (and a half) years old kid is a character I've been developing over the course of two RPs now, and this would be the third if you guys like. The advantage of choosing this girl is obvious. She's a tried-and-true character endorsed by two groups of people. She'd come ready-made with complete personality, backstory and all the little nuances that would allow a character to come alive. Furthermore, she won't be a stereotypical zombie apocalypse character either, whether be it your typical G.I Joe type mini-gun toting zombie killer nor the most recent stereotype *cough* Clementine *cough* kid character. She's basically a kid who'd lost family and friends over and over, and was broken physically and mentally in the process, forced to survive on her own to the point where she'd lost most of herself due to the lack of social contact and the need to survive. She's basically Clementine without the benefit of a trusty guardian(s) and far, far worse off, who's probably going to behave far more unpredictably and badly than Clementine ever could. Yeah, well, I guess she's nothing like Clementine.
The Cosmonaut/Taikonaut: I've always had the idea of combining the foreigner character with the isolated character with a dash of the astronaut character. Basically, this guy's going to be crash-landing into the middle of the zombie apocalypse without knowing what's going on at all. Neither is he/she going to know where on Earth he/she is. Might make for many interesting scenarios. This guy will probably start out with a crash-landed spacecraft and crewmates (who will be anything between unscathed to badly wounded), along with space-age equipment such as an experimental mars rover (that probably won't be as handy as a car), survival gear, space rations and a nifty experimental space suit that would allow him/her to run around with it without dying of exhaustion and heat injury.
The Peacekeeper: Another idea I've always had was to have a UN Peacekeeper who'd been flown in from another part of the world. I imagined this guy to be a Medical Officer who's also a Buddhist Chaplain. He's a soldier, but he won't be much of one due to his obvious inclination towards peace, saving lives and philosophy. For the sake of getting through the nitty and gritty, he'd be better at the traditional arts than he is at firearms. He's basically a Japanese with the JSDF, equipped specifically to deal with walkers/biters at the last minute with a factory manufactured sword and the usual infantry gear.
He'd resemble the Ronin-type character in Japanese literature, but instead of a dead master, his allegiance remains instead with the UN peacekeeping cause that'd died with his men, forcing him to wander and do what he can.
