[IC] Fractions: A New Age

Alex looked away, lowering his voice to a whisper. "I did." The scar looked ancient, running in a thick line from the bottom of his collarbone down to below his waist. "That was my first day on my own. I lost control of the fire on a bus. I could heal the scar now, but I keep it to tell myself I'm still human." He turned away and buttoned his shirt again. "I'd rather not talk about my past. It brings back too many painful memmories. I just wish I could forgrt it all." Suddenly he turned around and embraced her. "Oh, Nyx, please. Promise you'll ne er leave me again? I'll find a way to keep you alive myself, so please stay with me. If you left again I don't know what I'd do."

She blinked away her tears, stunned that he had caused this massive wound on his own. He could control fire like water? She wanted to ask him a million questions but he quickly turned away and buttoned up his shirt again telling her he didn't want to talk about it which made her pout until his arms engulfed her entirely. She melted against him, missing this scent she had grown up with. Her heart jumped, she was to never leave again? He knew that that was almost impossible, only the lifestar of a dying star could capacitate her lifespan but she also had enough to outlive him.. which was the saddest thing for her to think about. Nyx was a star, as much as she was human, a soul in flesh captivity. Yet.. "I won't. I promise, I'll never leave." She said trying to convince herself that it was true. She wrapped her arms around his neck and held him close, standing on the tips of her toes.

Alex held her for a minute before letting go. "We should probably get going, classes will start soon." He hesitated for a moment, then leaned down to kiss the top of her head. "Thank you for keeping your promise. I'm glad you came back to me." Then he turned to unfreeze the door. "We should get something to eat first." He said, trying to hide the slight flush on his face.

She released as well at felt refreshed that they were no longer sobbing all over each other, how exhausting that was. She blinked at the kiss on her forehead but before she could look up and see what he was thinking he turned to unfreeze the door, and the mentioning of food only made her giddy to run down the hall and eat all the ice cream in the world. She smiled and followed behind him while keeping the sweater down to it's proximity.

Forest sighed and got up, she looked around for a second and shook her head. "I'll be gone for a few minutes...will you be OK?" She knew it was dangerous to leave someone that was suicidal but it was getting boring staying here. She left without waiting for his answer and went to the training room.

Mason had wandered around after the whole Nyx incident. He felt slightly guilty that he hadn't helped out more, but it was difficult for him to speak around large groups of people. I'm going to have to work on that. He was starting to get hungry again, so he headed back to the dining hall.

Nessie didn't sleep long, waking shortly. She sighed, and thinking Caroline might be asleep, she made as little noise as possible as she left, walking down the hall, she reluctantly headed to the training area, going to Viper's section. She saw that her candles were there, and with a great sigh, proceeded to stare at them.

They made their way down to the dining room where she skipped marily to the counter. "May I have a bowl of icecream?" Her face brightly lit up while her cosmic eyes dazzled at the chef. He smiled back at her with a confused glance.
"For breakfast miss?" She cocked her head to the side.
"What is breakfast?" The cook laughed carefully and explained to her what foods are usually eaten during breakfast as her face lit up even brighter. She then ordered pancakes, waffles, french toast, bacon, yogurt, strawberries, orange juice, sausage, hashbrowns, and a strawberry milkshake. The cook laugh but went along with it anyways while she practically bounced around as she ordered.

She then turned and saw a face she didn't really get to meet yesterday, pulling down her sweatshirt she waved at him planning to join him at his table once her food was done.

Mason, despite already having eaten some breakfast, was hungry again, and so he had acquired a second breakfast. He had been happily eating it, when that new girl he had seen last night, waved at him.... or at least he thought she waved at him. It's probably someone else.

Alex shook his head with a smile and just ordered a coffee. "Good to see the time away hasn't dulled your childlike enthusiasm." He joked, patting her on the head. He seemed genuinely happy now, with almost none of the coldness he had before. "Hello there," He said, following her to Mason. "Hope you don't mind us sitting here, she's pretty hard to refuse." As he sat down next to Nyx, he took a drink of his coffee, keeping one eye on Mason. "Wind and Fire huh? Not a bad combination."

Kai fell asleep.

Instead of giving her a massive plate of food, he portioned it as if they were nice sized samples with all sorts of toppings to add to the waffles and what not along with ketchup for her hash browns and eggs. Nyx beamed her childlike smile up at Alex before nodding to get us a seat. She carried her tray over to the table and sat down across from the boy while shrugging at Alex's comment which was morally true except when could he exactly say no to her, the though made her want to giggle.. "I have to admit, human food smells extremely yummy." The first thing she did was take a sip of her milkshake, and then poured jam and syrup on her pancakes and french toast before cutting a bit out of the pancake and shoveling it in her mouth before a moan of happy food goodness.

Luna was sitting in the Elpiis training room, she appeared to be meditating. When Forest walked in she opened one eye, smiled. and patted the seat next to her. "Come, we can talk a little if you want." She murmured with a smile as she opened her eyes fully and waited.

Forest sighed, she sat next to Luna and nodded. "Someone tried to commit suicide I think. This place is crazy."

"Err...... How did you know I used Lucen and Viper?" Mason asked back, more than a little surprised. This dude looked a little older than most of the people here, he wasn't really sure what to make of him.

Nessie sighed after a long time of staring at the candles and nothing happening. She shook her head and walked out the room to the mess hall. Maybe she wasn't cut out to be here. She grabbed a few slices of toast, without looking about.

After a long talk and more training Forest was allowed to leave, she told Luna her dorm number and she had said classes would start soon. Forest left the training center and headed over to the rec room where she got some toast and jam eating quickly so she wouldn't be hungry during the teaching.

"Sorry, where are my manners?" Alex held out his hand. "I'm Alexander Miller, I teach Advanced Element Interactions and Manipulation, but since nobody's qualified for that yet I'm just helping out with whatever I can." He pointed to his eye, holding it open. "I've mastered both of my elements, and moved onto base power manipulation. Recently I've been able to see people's life force and their elements. Did you know that not everybody can use an element, but everybody has at least one?" He returned to his coffee as he said "That's how I know your elements."

She looked at him curiously, he bonded with two different elements? How fantastic, she then looked at Alex with a confused look after she had found out that he was capable of using two elements as well. Her eyes grew wide, "That's right! You guys use names for the elements like Lucen, and Phorros. I always found them interesting." Her smile was bright and full of curiosity towards the door before a familiar aura walked in to the room which made her turn. It was the girl Nessie, she waved enthusiastically and pointed to the table while she chewed on a piece of bacon and then another sip of her milkshake, and then another girl she almost leaped up in excitement. She gripped Alex's arm and leaned over. "The girls are so pretty here, they all seem so nice too." She practically wiggled in her seat of the thought of actually having girls as friends.

Nessie saw the enthausatic waving and sighed, knowing she had no choice but to go over. She knew she wouldn't be good company, not the way she was feeling at the moment, like a failure because she couldn't get Viper to work for her.

She sat down beside Mason, feeling better next to him then by Alex or Nyx. She looked around, hoping to see James, with Hope, but no such luck.

She dropped her gaze to her toast after a quick, muttered, "H-h-hello"
