So the series happens a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Well this here is the same universe, but right here and right now.

Backstory:

Exploration beyond the Galactic Republic's reach has gone further and further, and they've reached Earth, and discovered Force potential in the Humans who lived there. Unfortunately for everyone involved, it was the Sith who made this discovery. The Sith have come back, as they always seem to do, in a big way. The Rule of Two has been discarded yet again, and the Sith have a veritable army of Acolytes, ruled by a small group of Lords. The Sith entered the Sol System with just one Frigate with an expeditionary force. They made first contact under a false banner of peace, but quickly showed their true colors as they started snatching up children, and occasional adults, in whom they sense the potential for the Force. The Frigate retreated for a time, further from Earth than humanity could reach with its paltry technology.

Earth united, attempting to find a recourse for retaliation, however none seemed practical. Their salvation came in two parts. The first, was Cameron Ortega. A soldier who was among the few adults captured. He was subjected to the same torture that passes for training among the Sith. But what was different was his previous training with the US Army, which had taught him to withstand interrogation in the event of capture. He put on a show, pretended to be molded in their twisted image. Until he got a premonition that told him it was time to make his move. He stole a starfighter and fled back to Earth, managing to land through stealth. He returned to his superiors and reported everything that had happened.

The UN used Ortega's knowledge of the Force to gather other Force-Sensitives from among the armed forces of the world, and set up the Sith Task Force, or STF.

The second part of Earth's salvation, was the Jedi Order. They followed a great distance behind the Sith, and when their advance spies finally got word back of what was happening, a second ship appeared in the Sol System, but this one truly meaning to help.

So there are three factions.
The Galactic Republic's Jedi.
The Sith Empire
And Earth's own STF.

The STF allows the use of lightsabers(the components for which were provided by the Jedi) but does not issue them. Instead they use primarily conventional assault weapons. They are trained using usual Earth military regimens(with the addition of Force training), making them quite distinct from either of the other two factions. Both the Jedi and the Sith see the faults of their opposite numbers in the STF. The Sith see the Jedi's suppression of emotions, while the Jedi see the Sith's impulsiveness(which is encouraged in STF training, under the belief that their new found Force-Sensitivity will guilde their actions).

So there's the basic premise. We can hash out more if we get any interest. If you have any suggestions for additions or revision, you can definitely voice them.

One very important note. I am leaving for basic training on the 20th of May. I need a Co-GM who is not just running this in tandem, but who intends to be my successor. I like the idea, and would love it if it stays an active RP until I return so that I can come back to it.

Cool.

Now, I meant for this to be largely mission/episodic based. I want to have PCs in every faction, but that means we have to be mature and not too competitive. Remember that even though our characters are in conflict, we, the players, are not. Your character losing is not the same as you losing. You only lose if you're not having fun.

For simplicity's sake, we're just going to ignore the language barrier.

Jedi should be non-humans(near-humans are okay) but Sith has their kidnapped humans, and STF is made entirely of humans.

It's been five years since the arrival of the Jedi. Because of the massive distance between the Sol System and their home galaxy, neither the Jedi nor the Sith are willing to risk their frigates in an open space battle, for fear being unable to make repairs.

The STF, on the other hand, have reverse-engineered star-fighters that they are perfectly willing to risk, as they have the only manufacturing capabilities at the moment.

I'd love for someone else to chime in, and I really do need a willing and able Co-GM. Do not volunteer for this just because nobody else has, do it because you want to, or else you're wasting everyone's time.

Just so I'm clear do the STF and Jedi also find themselves opposing each in conflict, or is it just a difference in ideological opinion?

And are the Sith and Jedi composed entirely of Sith and Jedi respectively, or do they have they're own troopers with them?

Cheers, Sam

The Sith have troopers, and Earth has soldiers besides STF. The Jedi on the other hand came somewhat unprepared. There's maybe a hundred Jedi, and the crew of the ship they brought.

The STF and the Jedi are in a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" sort of position. The STF and Earth's other militaries make up the largest part of the planet's defense against he Sith.
The Jedi consider STF to be borderline Darkside, however galactic exploration law forbids them from actively influencing the ideology of newly discovered planets. That doesn't stop them from trying to teach their own doctrine when STF members and Jedi are on missions together.

After some negotiation, the Jedi have been permitted to train young Human children in the ways of the Force. They are, however, not permitted to take them away, or to use them on missions. All training is done in special classes in schools. Unfortunately for the Jedi, the Sith have already ruined any trust and goodwill that the Humans might have had for aliens. Upon turning sixteen, however, it has been agreed that a Human can make the choice to permanently join the Jedi order.

CS, feel free to fill it out and post it here. Please don't get offended if I knit pick in the beginning, as there are still ideas in my head that I haven't articulated for you fine folks.

Name:
Age: The Sith and Jedi have any age(though Human Jedi must be sixteen), STF only accepts people age eighteen or older.
Species: STF is all human, the other two, all species are fair game(unless you come up with one I think is unfair in some way).
Faction:
Rank:(Jedi have Padawan-Knight-Master and Sith have Acolyte-Lord. STF use normal human military ranks.STF have an automatic officer designation of Second Lieutenant or higher).
Appearance: I love pictures, personally. Anything goes, however, as long as you describe your character in some way.

I actually do not ask for bio or personality. Both can be expounded upon in character. Just don't over-use expositionary prose.

Name: Larvock Bor
Age: 26
Species: Devaronian
Faction: Sith
Rank: Apprentice "Darth Harrow"
Appearance:
He stands at six feet tall excluding his horns and weighs around two hundred thirty pounds even though he only looks one hundred fifty, but that's just because of his dense Devaronian blood. His skin is more of a rust color and has a large burn scar that takes up his entire throat and chest area. He is one of the few Devaronians born with both male and female sets of teeth which the female one can be retracted into the jaw.
Saber:

PS. I thought it be nice to add a saber section for future references.

That is a nice thing to do, you are correct.

I like your saber pic, too. Is there some kind of saber designer, or is it just made up of shapes in MS paint? Or did you just find it and don't know?

Does he have a Sith title? Is he just an acolyte, or a Lord(I am going to add a "rank" section to the CS, that was my bad).

I wanna do a bit of research and maybe come up with a rank system for the Sith. I'm still thinking that they have a crap ton of Acolytes, a handful of a ruling class, and then something in the middle. I don't know if the Lords are the ruling class, or if they are the middle and there's something above them. I'm thinking that you don't receive a title until being upgraded to the middle. I'm also thinking that the middle and the top classes have a set amount of each, and he only way to get up is to kill the one above you, or for them to die otherwise and you usurp their power.

I think the Sith are and have always been a brutal and cutthroat order.

being as young as my character is he wouldnt be a lord but acolyte by description on the star wars wikia is one just learning and that he is not then apprentice would mean having a teacher (which im not against if someone comes along wanting to be a lord ill be their apprentice) but im sure youll think of something cool ;D

Okay, so here's my thought on Sith power structure.

Regent(title should be Prince, rather than anything else because) there would be multiple, but very few. I'm thinking ten. There is one present on the expedition. The title "Prince" replaces Darth.
Lords The top rank, other than regent, obviously. Carry a "Darth" title.
Apprentice. Chosen from among Acolytes by a Lord. A Lord almost always has only one apprentice, but there has been a history having having multiple in secret, usually for the purpose of tricky plots. Carry a "Darth" title. They stay apprentice until either they die, or their master does. If their master dies, they replace them. If they die, they are replaced.
Acolyte: The Sith will try to turn almost any being with Force potential, and bring them into the fold as Acolytes. Acolytes have no title, and are subservient even to lowly apprentices.

Thoughts?

Jedi are as they always have been.

STF: They do not have an apprentice system, as they function as a military outfit. They do, however, act in squads under a ranking officer. Unlike realistic military squads, where the members are interchangeable and are assembled before missions, STF squads are permanent, and are trained to intuit each others actions through the Force, and to act with minimal or no communication. A new member can't just join the squad at any time, they would have to go through the rigorous intuition training again, which is made more difficult for the new member because the rest of the squad have already defined their roles and don't need to communicate.

I changed my mind about STF and lightsabers. They are in fact issued a standard saber with a colorless, lab grown crystal. They are also free to use any they find or create on their own.
Earth does in fact have deposits of light saber quality crystals, they merely had no use for them until the Jedi provided specs and the other components required.

I'm interested! I would be interested in making a STF squad leader? If there even are leaders in the individual squads?

Well I meant for all STF characters to be on the same squad, and I'm going to play the squad leader. However, as I said my time here is limited, and when I leave so does my character. You can be the second in command, who fills his shoes when he's gone.
