Alright! Now that my sheet is up. Anyone care to fill in what has happened so far in-game..?

Nice, finally someone is willing to take Alinor.

Some things I've noticed:

-The Dragonborn is a Redguard, not a Breton.
-Your idea of human fighting for the Dominion seems interesting. However, it feels a little unfeasible. I would change it to mercenaries instead of loyal fighters.
-According to lore, merchants do not preside over arcane scholars on the Isle. By Aldmer traditions (they are one of the most traditionalist races), artists and mages are considered higher in class than traders.
-While the Dominion navy is the most powerful in Tamriel, 1500 ships is a bit overkill. The British Royal Navy (comparable to the Aldmer fleet) never reached anything close that kind of number. Even the modern US Navy only operates 289 ships.

I'll let my co-GM, Leidenschaft, do a more through analysis and fill you in on what you need to do before starting. In the mean time, I'll try to condense all the events into my next post.

I'm currently working on a post now that will directly affect everyone. It is an open invitation by the Argonian people to hold a diplomatic summit in the city of Stormhold, in Black Marsh: under the objective of 'ascertaining the political and economic future of inter-national alliances.'

Thanks for the condensed post!

And I hear you loud and clear on the Naval thing. I'll reduce it. Any idea what kind of number would be more appropriate? I just kind of wanted a lot so troop transport would be such a pain in the ass.

As far as the Dragonborn, your sure? I could have sworn to the Eight/Nine it was a Breton!

Dealing with the Non-Elven fighters, they were picked up during his travels on Mainland Tamriel, and are filled with various groups of bandits, smugglers, thieves and murderers. For one reason or another, Aelid won them over. However, I don't expect to replace them once they are dead. The Men of Mer are kind of a one shot group of criminal loyalists.

As far as the social system goes, Traders have rose in my society in prestige due to their constant help in aiding Aelid. However, I do understand that Mages and the like are important to their society. Instead of putting Traders or Mages above one another, lets just say that Higher Tier Merchants are now equal to Mages in Prestige, due to recent events.

As far as the Navy goes, the Aldmeri Dominion has always been one that struck awe and terror into the hearts of their foes. Here's why:
Michael Kirkbride said Made of crystal and solidified sunlight, with wings though they do not fly, and prows that elongate into swirling Sun-Birds, and gem-encrusted mini-trebuchets fit for sailing which fire pure aetheric fire, and banners, banners, banners, listing their ancestors all the way back to the Dawn.

This is Old Mary at Water.

With that, at the least poetic indulgence, these ships would be made of wood and armored with some lightweight metal, while the sails are made of something that would resemble insect wings. Altmer ships are equal parts art pieces and weapons of war. Firing something along the lines of Greek Fire, but with some type of fire that burns extremely hot, and not to mention their naval battlemages...don't even get me started...

All in all, with a Navy such as this, you wouldn't need too many ships. Something below 1,500, but something that sounds appropriate.

I also second the mercenaries part of Gcold's reply.

Well...

Before the RP even started the Khajiit kicked out the Thalmor
There is now an uprising in Valenwood, backed by an Imperial Legion because, as it turns out, the cosmopolitan Empire isn't too fond of the Elven Nazi party who tried to destroy their nation and enslave them. (And so far, the Thalmor are losing pretty badly)
The Redguards made a treaty which meant the Thalmor halted their failed invasion of Hammerfell
The Nords have unoutlawed Talos Worship and are now independent from the Empire.
The new Emperor has pretty much spat on the concordat, believing its terms undermine the values of the Empire, and turns a blind eye to Talos worship and the likes.
I've got some of your ships after seizing a major port in Valenwood with the wood elves as part of the Bosmer insurrection
I'm holding a summit in the north to try and gain support to come south and batter you with more ships and troops and invade Alinor its self
Elsweyr is basically fighting its self, with the Empire providing limited support, after the mane was assassinated (You pretty much got the blame despite having nothing to do with it, because no one suspects the real killers, so no matter which side wins the civil war there's going to be angry cats out for you)
The Akaviri are, unbeknownst to us, planning an invasion.
High Rock is, as ever, in a shouting match with its self as the Emperor face palms while trying to get them to work together for once

All in all, not a good situation to start in, I'm afraid xD And that's just the things involving the Thalmor I can recall off the top of my head

Sounds like Altmeri ships are the bees knees! And I was kinda hoping to have a fairly small, but powerful military. So I'll edit the ships to say, 500?

And I suppose I can change the Non-Elven Loyalists to Metcenarys, but I was planning on using The Thalmors hatred for the friends and soldiers he picked up along the way being a bone of contention.

Thalmor would want to get rid of Non-Elf Allies, Aelid would say No, they are his friends. Then tension and political drama and all that good stuff.

But if they are simple Mercenarys, then if the Thalmor throw a big fit over them, Aelid would simply dismiss them as he doesn't have the same emotional connection, thus losing a perfect chance for internal conflict! I'm no fighting the Mercenary idea, just letting you know where I was going with all that.

Yeah, I PMed the Bosmer player asking if they were part of the Dominion or not, and they gave me a brief recap. I don't want to sound like a sissy, but I don't know how much fun this game will be if its literally just "HEY LET'S ALL HOLD HANDS AND KICK HIGH ELF ASS TOGETHER! YAY!"

I guess what I'm saying is..

Friends, pls?

The more Elves the Merrier!

Though we are kinda on opposites side of Tamriel. That is both a Advantage and Disadvantage.

In-directly supporting the people trying to cleave my head from my shoulders is still supporting them.

But shit guys, I'm cool with with being outnumbered. I just don't want to get stomped by like five armies all at once. So long as I'm promised that its not Nirn vs. Altmer I'm good.

Speaking of which, I understand what happened with the Khajjit and the Mane and all that stuff, but why are the Bosmer even mad bro? Fighting because of the Racial Injustice of how the Aldmeri treat men? Because as far as I know, Bosmer are treated fairly well in the Dominon.

I read this as "I'm not going to attack you, but I directly support it and am in fact letting people throw bodies at each other because you both get weakened and I just get to watch while both sides pander to me to either a) close off the ports or b) keep the ports open."

Aye. Seems my Bosmer Cousins aren't as close to me as I thought. Well, fine. I suppose these things will be decided on the field of battle. But I live and love on a Isle, and I've a Aldmeri Fleet lead by a Lord Admiral.

So if you would kick my support and resources from your land, so be it. But if you plan to take this War to the Sea... Well,

Good Luck.

Well, the Emperor sort of told them that eventually the Thalmor would log their forest, and as you can imagine this was a huge concern for them. Since they now like the Khajiit because of some trade agreements, who are part of the empire, it seems they were pretty quick to decide they wanted to get the Thalmor out of their lands.
As for taking this war to the see, my plan was to get the, Breton, Redgaurd, Nord and Imperial Fleets to come down and attack, that hasn't exactly gone to plan, but I have some confidence in my plan B if needed, though it would involve heavier loses, there's no doubt about that.

Of course, I'm sure after the Bosmer player finally gets his lands independence, we can instead agree on a fair peace treaty this time around, since it seems Aelid's dominion is not as bad as the one I was fighting against. Still pretty bad, but better than the one I had been fighting against, so I think we could probably get along... Nearly alright if we made a new peace treaty xD

Need to rant and rave at Morrowind once the news spreads, because apparently it was too much effort to dismiss, deport or exile anyone who liked the Empire in your ranks, and instead they had to get murdered xD
