I know that this won't apply to most of you but do you get frusterdate when someone screws up your name? My beef is with the medical community. You would think with a small name like mine it would be a problem. It's only three letters. And yet every time I get a new doctor or nurse I have explain my name.

I don't usually have problems with my name, unless it's spelling. Normally, I'll ask new people/friends to spell my name, and instead of Jordan, some of them will say 'Jorden' or 'Jordyn', but that's more funny than frustrating

Not really, but that might be because my name has always been mixed up with those of my siblings since I was little. I also didn't actually know my full name until maybe three years ago. I kinda go by around three names at a time right now, anyway...

I'm still wondering how people can mess up a three-letter name, though. Just...how?

I was waiting for someone to ask. They refuse to believe that my legal name is simply SUE. They keep trying to make it longer. Suzanne, Sueann, Susiane are the usual ones they try.

That's odd. Considering how difficult most other names are in the world, I would think that they would be glad to just accept a simple name for once... Why would they purposefully make things harder?

Because they can? Most people think I just go by a shorter version of my name most people with long names shorten them. Michael to Mike Jennifer to Jen. But my name on my birth certificate is simplify Sue. And I often have to prove that!

Ay....that does sound annoying. I would definitely get frustrated at that. Usually my biggest problem is whether I put my actual name on documents or my everyday name.

It is very annoying. Why do you have to choose between the two.

I went by a different name all the way until it was time to apply for schools, then found out that my legal name wasn't the one recorded in all my school files. So I got to relearn my last name, but I'm still really used to going by the other one. I have to be careful whenever I sign documents or check in for anything.
