Well, I would like it if people regulated their use of magic, but I don't think I need to keep some sort of system in place... I trust these folk a lot more than I used to trust the folk over at MCF. (other than those in my inner circle, of course)

Do furry humanoid beasts fit animelious or dragons, or are there none in this universe? What of fish-like creatures?

That would be animelious. If it has fur, it can't be a dragon. Period.

As for fish creatures, that's kinda the only base we haven't covered, though, with good reason, as the state we're in is landlocked. The creature would have to be able to breathe on land for an extended period of time in order to be acceptable, given that otherwise, it would be stuck to lakes which almost never come up in the RP... being cut off from communication from the other RPers isn't usually a good idea.

Are Umbrins restricted by the size that they were when they transformed? For instance, is there anything stopping one from compacting itself into a squirrel's body or from momentarily possessing the bricks in that wall seven feet away?

No.

Just use common sense and don't try to possess an entire building. On another note, we're thinking of replacing those species, depending if one of our former RPers decides to come back.

A blob can resize him/herself, although you are subject to the conservation of mass.
