Aoba blinked as Dani suddenly rolled away and bared his fangs. He glanced over at Kuro and then started to look between the two as they conversed in front of him. Again, as if he wasn't there. Dani tried to defend his case, and the angel hugged his knees and watched it all. 'Dani was trying to help? Well that's oddly nice of him. . . Even if he says he doesn't care.' The last thing he would've guessed was that he was influencing the demon to care. . . Which was probably the last thing anyway. After all, it appeared that Dani just wanted him to be more fun.

Being pulled into a hug made him a bit sheepish and he pulled away a little. His hands went behind his back and his feet scuffled in the dirt. "I'm fine. . . Really, I am." Even if what Kuro was saying was true, he didn't want to make such a big deal out of it. The two were demons, and with the constant reminder of them not having hearts, he decided not to burden them with being what he assumed was being sappy for them. When Kuro spoke about his grace and showing that having his heart torn wasn't even half the pain, Aoba reached up and put a hand over his heart slowly.

That, he remembered learning about. It wasn't ever put into too much depth considering the angels didn't bother to think any of them would fall- it was rate after all. So hearing that out loud again made Aoba look down again. His eyes closed for a moment and he sighed before looking up at Kuro, returning the smile. It was quick because once more he was looking at the ground again. "Um, yes. That sounds like a good idea. Then, we can worry about food." He pushed his cheeks inward and then smiled a little.

Aoba pushed the sadness away and ran fingers through his hair. "Can I get the turkeys? I think they would be easy enough to gather up. And they're smaller."

Kuro can not suppress a chuckle as Aoba talks about wrangling turkeys and reaches up, ruffling his hair gently. Pulling him in close he presses a warm kiss to the boy's temple before tugging on his hair softly. “The turkeys and the chickens can take care of themselves, they'll bed down when they're good and ready in their appropriate shelters, don't you worry. The only ones we have to take care of are the cows and chickens.” He waves a hand” Larger farms with more room to graze can leave their animals out overnight, sheep mostly, however we don't have the room here to be letting them eat as much as they want for as long as they want. We'd run out of grass.”

Thinking back to where it was left Kuro decides to assign the book Father Gerard had left them as reading material for bedtime reading as they pull up to the gate. Looking over his shoulder he whistles for Dani. The smaller demon appears a few seconds later, looking at his little brother with a curious gaze. Kuro gives him a smile and point off to where the cows and sheep are, spread out across the area. “Care to give us a hand? You get to scare some animals.” Dani's eyes narrow, trying to judge if Kuro is telling the truth. Finally he gives a little nod and a shrug. Kuro grins. “Okay, the job is easy. You need to scare those animals,” He points to the cows and sheep, “Through this gate. Think you can handle it?”

Dani snorts. “And I thought this might be something actually challenging. I can do that, easy.” His wings crack as the snap out, ready for flight.

As he rises into the air Kuro looks to Aoba. “Go in the barn and make sure the right pens are open, then take up the place you were in before. I'll stay here and make sure they don't bolt for the road. Through this little avenue between the fence and the barn.” He smiles warmly. “You can handle it, just keep your wings out so they see a wall and turn.” Once Aoba is on his way Dani takes off like a shot, rocketing around the field. Not really knowing how to drive them as a herd only one or two animals come towards the opening at once and the risk of the angel getting trampled stays very low.

~*~*~*~*~

The arc angel slides into his chair, a minor emergency with one of the younger staff and a concoction it wasn't ready for having cropped up in his absence now dealt with and all things in heaven now back on their normal course. He heaves a long sigh, trying to relax. However it isn't long before he finds his gaze wandering to the right hand drawer on his desk. Inside he swears he can almost feel the mirror calling to him. His over protective instincts making him feel that perhaps it is. Perhaps Aoba is in trouble, and calling out for help. 'Which is complete folly. Even if he was in trouble, he would not be calling out. . .Not for divine help at least. Last I saw, that large demon was taking care of things rather well, despite it all. . . .Why. . . .'

He shakes his head, slamming his mind down on that line of thought, already given himself a headache trying to figure out the 'why' of it all. With another long sigh he almost has to force his hand out to pull open the drawer holding the mirror, then with trepidation he uncovers it, looking into it's depths. It takes a few seconds for the image to clear but when it does and he spots the little angel once more, he can not stop the ache in his chest from once more seeing those gray tainted wings.

"O-Oh. Sorry, I didn't know." Aoba apologized without realizing it. He does smile gently, and nodded towards his new task. Once Dani flew off, Aoba hurried into the barn, making sure each pen was open in order to lead them inward. He stood in place and waited for the animals to come in.

Outside, Dani flew behind one of the sheep and growled. It was pretty easy to scare them considering they feared him already, but the menacing noises he made, made the animals move to find safety. He got the animals in by twos and occasionally by ones. It was slightly frustrating that they wouldn't go at once. He roared softly, not wanting to scare them to death. It wasn't as threatening, and it sounded a little like a lion cub's roar. It was enough to move the animals.

Aoba watched as the sheep and cows started to hurry in. Like he was told, he opened his wings out, stopping the animals from moving past him. "No, no. Cow, you go there." It seemed to moo in response before turning to its designated area." He smiled and patted a few of the sheep as they walked in. "Good job you." He giggled and waited for more animals.
One animal staggered towards Kuro, only to be deterred away thanks to Dani jumping in front of the sheep. "Move." He growled and the sheep turned around quickly. It ran to Aoba with Dani following behind, messing with it. "Go on! Hurry! You're going to get eaten if you slack away from the herd! That's the last one." Aoba nodded and closed each pen as the animals got settled.

"Thank you Dani." Aoba smiled, only to receive a curious gaze from the small demon. Dani landed on his feet and once again was thinking of the little 'talk' they had before. 'How does he do it. . .?' He was a little more curious as to how his toy worked. He could've been crying his eyes out at any time, but here he was being all smiley and such.

"...You're weird." Aoba looked a little confused but shrugged it off.

- - - - - -

Fenrir opened the mirror to see Aoba putting animals in pens. The doctor sighed, thankful that he was okay. It eased some of his stress just to know the angel was alive. Unfortunately, he had to admit that demon was pretty useful. . . Despite the headache of trying to figure out why.

Kuro is nearly overcome with giggles as Dani tries desperately to get the animals to do what he wants, the scattered heard scattering further with ever little lunge and growl. 'Yea, not quite up to sheepdog standards, however I'm sure he would kill me to hear that. . .Ah well, I'm just gonna take the help at face value and be grateful he's making an effort at all' A few sheep tray to push past his legs at one point and much like his brother Kuro lets out a few choice noises to set them back on the right path. As soon as the last beast, a sheep, shuffles by, Kuro quickly closes the gate and takes over driving the animals. Dani however has other ideas.

The younger brother rolls his eyes ad his elder sibling seems to really get into his task and starts worrying the last animal right up into the barn. 'Yeah, scare them to death, that's the best way to get them to trust us. Way to go bro' Kuro lets out a huff and shakes his head, smiling as Dani goes dumbstruck over being thanked. His expression then shifts to curious and Kuro senses a declaration coming, however for the time being he decides to leave them be checking in on each stall until he at last stops at the largest one holding the pregnant cow.

Dani opens his mouth to once more bring up the subject of Aoba's odd behavior when Kuro calls out from behind him. The smaller demon turns, tucking his wings in automatically as all demons do when inside and in danger of banging them off of things. Kuro points up towards Dani's nesting area, unable to see it at their current elevation of being several feet bellow it, however he can spell it just fine. “You're camping out above the pregnant animal?”

Dani puts on a tough guy face, his lips almost falling into a pout in the process. “You told me to stay in the barn, so I am, who cares where I say? What, do I have to stay in with the little skin things over there with the curly tails and all the grunt and squealing noises? Or are you kicking me out of the barn altogether, gonna make me sleep out in the open, or even force me to stay awake all night like a stupid guard dog!?” Dani's passions rise as he speaks and Kuro can see the madness rising in his eyes. Glancing over the smaller demon's shoulder he motions with his eyes for Aoba to scoot away from him before addressing the slowly rising ball of fury that is Dani.

“No, I was just curious, that's all, I remember you thinking pregnancy was gross, but apparently you've gotten over that, which is good seeing as it's a natural part of the world. Go ahead! Sleep wherever you want Dani, now if you'll excuse us, we have a few more things to deal with this evening.” Dani devolves into grumbling to himself, sticking out his tongue at Kuro before jumping up into his nest. Kuro motions for the angel to come with him and closes the large barn doors closed behind them. “He'll most likely talk to himself for about an hour, then pass out. I think he's a little tired and the madness gets worse when in that state.” He smiles at Aoba warmly. “Dinner?”

Aoba tilted his head upwards at the mention of a nest. He looked around not seeing anything, so instead the fallen angel walked over to the pregnant cow, with a gentle smile. She seemed a little startled by the two demons, so the angel rested his head against the cows, giving her a gentle headbutt. "Don't worry about those two. They're are rowdy, but I won't let them hurt you." He giggled lightly as the cow huffed and bowed her head a little. He was a still weary of Dani's growls and anger, so he scooted away to not get in the way. Aoba's feet shuffled against the floor while he waited for them to finish. Eventually, he'd get use to Dani's outburst.

His head turned when Kuro motioned him along. He walked over and gently patted the now content and calm cow, before looking up at Dani. He gave an innocent and sheepish smile before putting his two cents in despite the warning of his madness. "Don't worry, I wouldn't let Kuro make you sleep outside. Well, well only if you wanted to." He nodded before turning to follow Kuro. He didn't want to stay too long and get caught in Dani's anger. At the mention of dinner, Aoba perked up a little. "Oh, that sounds good. I should go get cleaned up." The fallen angel picked up the pace and hurried in the house.

In the slight jog to the house, he determined that he was clean enough to take a quick wash in his own bathroom. So when he got in, he hurried up the steps to clean off. He grabbed his pajamas, well, he started to but he realized it was a little warm. Instead, he grabbed a borrowed shirt and boxers before going to the bathroom. He hummed a little song as he cleaned up and then changed. The shirt was two sizes too large, but it would have to do for nightwear. He didn't want to sleep naked, so this was the next best choice.

The fallen angel tugged at the shirt gently to pull it down as he walked down the steps and two Kuro. He was already embarrassed by the nonexistent eyes staring at him, but then there was the one being who was going to look him over like he normally did. "Um...do you need any help?" Aoba spoke softly, not wanting to disturb whatever Kuro was doing.

Laughing openly at the excited little angel Kuro pats him in the back as he rushes off into the house to get washed up. ”Ah, I see food being a great motivator in the future. I better brush up on my cooking skills then' The demon moves at a more leisurely pace, coming to a stop just before the porch. “So, how am I doing? See anything messed up?”

From behind him a voice chuckles from the darkness. “You are fine little brother, at least from what I can see.” Dani chuckles one last time before retreating back into the barn.

Letting out a long sigh Kuro vaguely wonders if Dani is just telling him what he wants to hear, counting down the hours until some catastrophic event that will damage his energy and call their father to his side. However he shakes off the thought with a huff. 'No, he's too interested in my Little Mouse right now to be giving thought to such things. He's far simpler than that when it comes to the stuff that catches his attention' Kuro makes his way inside, rinsing off in the kitchen sink before perusing the shelves to try and figure out what to make. He hums and hahs, tilting his head this way and that before finally making his decision.

Pulling out what he needs he grabs an old pot from beneath the counter and rises it out before setting some water to boil, snatching up a saucepan and setting it on the stove as well. Working quickly he has the sauce simmering, the noodles boiling, and the crumbs browning in the oven by the time Aoba comes down. Hearing him call out the demon whirls, his head dropping almost comically to the side as he checks out Aoba's bare legs, a naughty smile trying desperately to tug his lips wide, however he manages to hold it back and instead give the smaller male a warm smile while looking him in the eyes. “Why yes, if you'd really like to. We need four celery stalks to chopped up into half inch chunks, need me to demonstrate?”

~*~*~*~*~

Fenrir, finally at home for the evening, decides to take one last look at the mirror and finds himself promptly setting it face down on his bedside table. A long string of stifled laughter pours of of him, his hand clamped over his mouth, his other over his stomach. The sight of a demon cooking is just too much after the day he's had, and now all his stress bubbles out of him in the form of a long hard, firmly stifled, laugh.

Aoba eyed all the stuff that was pulled out to use. It was more so to avoid seeing Kuro stare, even if it was only for a second. His job was given and the fallen angel turned down the help. "No, no, I can do it." He went to the sink and washed his hands even though he had already been clean. He reached for the celery stalks that were already out. He knew he would have probably needed to ask what was the celery stalks of they hadn't been out. The angel found a knife and rinsed that off before taking a place at the counter with a cutting board.

"Half inch chunks." He stared at the celery in front of him. 'Oh, I know! I remember when Fenrir was showing me stitches and they were half an inch apart.' Of course Aoba didn't know that it didn't need to be extremely perfect, just small enough to be used. So, the first stalk he cut was rather slow paced. "So what are we making?" He asked as he chopped up the celery.

Dani retreated to the barn and back to his little nest. He sat in boredom, before tossing and turning. Eventually, he ended up hanging upside down and staring at 'Mom'. His head tilted this way and that and the pregnant cow looked up at him. "When are you going to burst already. You're really fat as it is. . . I don't think you can get any fatter before that thing pops out of you."

He frowned when the cow ignored him and moved to get some rest. "Hmph, fine." He slid back to his nest and laid there.

“One of the greatest thing humans have ever created, if I do say so myself. . .” Kuro murmurs, looking over at Aoba once in a while while measuring out what he needs for the sauce. He chuckles softly. “It took me forever to try it since it doesn't naturally come with meat, me can be added of course to enhance the flavor, but after trying it for the first time, I became a little obsessed and began experimenting on different ways to make it, and now I think I have a great recipe you might like.” He half shrugs, mixing all the sauce fixings together. The thick creamy orange stuff swirls around and as he flicks the flame on under it Kuro dips in a clean finger to taste it real quick.

Sticking his finger in his mouth he lets out a long satisfied hum before tuning to Aoba with a wink. “It's called mac and cheese. Simple, but when made right, as you would put it, heavenly. . .” He chuckles, moving around Aoba to the drawer with the spices to put the rest away. Patting him on the head on the way back to the stove he says kindly, “They don't have to be perfect, just manageable. You're doing a good job of it, but try to relax, let it flow. . .Cooking is a mix of science, and art. The science is easy, the art, now that takes practice.” Checking the larger pot he trows in the noodles now that the water is at a boil, then sets about getting the dishes and cutlery ready. Pulling the stove open he quickly checks the bread crumbs, the spices settling in nicely, before turning off the oven now that they are lightly toasted.

~*~*~*~*~

Now braced for the sight Fenrir once more lifts the mirror up and gazes into it. Wiping a tear from his cheek he lets out a long sigh, watching the angel work calmly and diligently beside the demon, the natural touch of fear in his hear for Aoba somehow dulled to see such a domestic interaction. With one last sigh the arch angel sets the mirror aside, wrapping it up tight and settles into bed. “Tomorrow, I'll start looking up how to get it upgraded. . .Gotta be careful. . .I'm not suppose to be the one with it, though since the parents turned it down. . .I wonder what the laws are on such things. . .” Rolling on his side, the angel is soon asleep.

~*~*~*~*~

Kuro hums a little tune as he works, mixing the sauce absentmindedly before looking to Aoba. “By the way, when your done chopping, just slide those right into the sauce, er, this little pot with the orange goo, heh.”

The way it was explained, the dinner sounded like a fabulous and exquisite. His stomach grumbled a little more and he peeked inside the pot where Kuro mixed everything. All he saw was orange gooey stuff inside it. The mixture didn't look gross, but it did look rather odd. At least it smelled nice. Was that apart of the exquisite meal Kuro was talking about? "Mac and Cheese. . . That's what we're eating." It didn't sound so fancy, though the way they were living even he knew fancy didn't fit. He was going to start questioning the name, like what was a Mac. . . But at least he knew what cheese was so he didn't bother.

Aoba focused on cutting again so he didn't cut his fingers off. Hearing they didn't have to be perfect, he paused. "Oh, okay." He started to cut once again, only to stop and listen to the explanation. Now he had to learn the art of cooking, which didn't actually sound so bad. The only thing he didn't want to do was injure himself. Blood on the food was gross and unsanitary. . . And it would probably hurt. With a soft sigh, he cut the celery a little faster. They were still small pieces, and he didn't hurt himself. It wasn't that hard after all. He wasn't mincing like a professional, but it was good enough, at least for him.

His effort made the process a lot faster and when he was done he lifted the cutting board and pushed the pieces into the sauce. He watched as some sank and some sat at the top. "Smells yummy." He discarded the things he was using into the sink and rinse them off. Not wanting them to sit there, he started to clean them off. And then, everything that wasn't being used got put away or cleaned off. Out of curiosity, in the midst of cleaning, Aoba looked over at Kuro. "Do you think Dani may want some?" It didn't hurt to ask even if he didn't want any. That was just the fallen angel being nice as usual.

As he goes back to prepping what they will be eating with Kuro remembers when he first began cooking. It had been difficult to fine somewhere to actually do the cooking, stoves not really a public thing, so he actually had to content himself with grills and bonfires for a while. Cooking that way had been disastrous until he figures out what one could and could not make that way, with many odd looks by those who happen to pass by wondering what he was doing trying to bake a cake on an open flame. 'That would have been very funny, looking at it from the outside, and my sibling sure thought so. The ones what I saw when I began trying were real asses about it all. . .Not that they were great cooks, or even good cooks. I think it was more the fact that I was trying to cook that they found funny than anything else'

His head turns at the sound of Aoba moving and he smiles and nods as he slips the celery into the cheese sauce. 'Just the right amount of sharp to blend with the crisp and the cream. Lovely' Filling two cups with water he places them on the coffee table, no kitchen table yet present in the house, and settles the cutlery just so, taking pleasure in doing something he knows how to do. When at last everything looks right he's back at the stove in a flash, mixing, stirring, sniffing, tasting. Pulling out a strainer he looks over to where the angel is cleaning up and lets out a sift sigh. 'I need him to move, but he looks so adorable like this. . .Especially in that shirt and. . .' He shakes his head, clearing away a bit of the perversion before snapping his attention up to what the young angel is actually saying.

He thinks about it for a second, honestly wondering, but highly doubting, that Dani would even touch anything that not only has no meat in it, but has been dead and processed. 'Ah well, it couldn't hurt' he muses with a shrug. “I don't know, most likely not, but if you think it worth the asking, go for it!” Handing him a small towel to dry his hands the demon place s his hand on Aoba's back and moves him towards the door with a little nudge. “Go for it Little Mouse, he's more likely to say yes if you ask.” Once Aoba is out of the way he drops the colander into the sinks and grabs the pot of noddles after turning the stove off, and strains out the water carefully. 'I hope he doesn't think I was shooing him out of the kitchen' Shrugging he goes about finishing dinner, wondering about this and that.

Once the cheese and celery are mixed in properly Kuro ladles out two portions, one per bowl, and scoops up a handful of the spiced bread crumbs, scattering them over the top of the mach until there is a good layer across the top. The mac, now mostly hidden by a brown mass, is set out on the counter to cool as Kuro waits to see if Dani will be dinning with them this evening. Kuro meanwhile summons a container to store leftovers in and rinses out the remaining dishes. Placing them all carefully on the growing pile in the drying rack he hums softly, the tension rising for every moment Aoba is out of his sight. 'I know Dani can not hurt him, and he will defend him, however any time I can't see him, I can not help but worry. . . .I wonder why. . . .'

Aoba dried his hands and nodded. He knew there was no guarantee that Dani would accept the offer, but the fallen angel felt it was still nice to ask. He then gets shooed out the kitchen and he smiled. "Okay, if you think so." He walked off, leaving Kuro to finish making the meal. It didn't look like his help was needed much after he had finished cutting celery so it was best to stay out of the way.

The air had chilled as it grew darker, but there was a pretty night sky and the stars shined bright. He looked off into the trees where the lower demons had constantly hid away. It made him shudder and grow cold for a moment, but he didn't stop walking. He had almost forgotten how dangerous it was. Twice, no three times, demons had lurked around to attack and/or capture him. He wasn't all that special though, besides the fact that he was a fallen angel, there wasn't much else he could put to his name. And Aoba didn't think being a fallen meant 'special'. He shook his head of the thoughts and pulled the barn door open- enough to slip through.

Dani had already scented the male before he came in, so he was sitting up and staring down at the door with curious eyes. Seeing Aoba walk in, Dani jumped down and crossed his arms. "What are you doing here?" Dani was genuinely curious. It was late and he could have sworn Kuro said something about making food for the toy. By the light growls of his stomach, obviously he hadn't eaten. It was dark in the barn, but he didn't bother looking for any lights, and Aoba didn't mind either. The two let the moonlight be their source of light. "Well?" He asked after some silence as Aoba pondered over how to ask him.

His eyes adjusted to the dim light and he looked at Dani. "Well, I helped Kuro make food. He said it's called Mac and Cheese. I was wondering if you wanted some as well. Since you're sitting in here all by yourself, I thought you might want a little company." He shrugged a little, but had a hopeful look in his eye. Not hopeful that he would join, but hopeful that he'd at least say no nicely. Kuro did say it wasn't likely that he would want to join, so he didn't get his hopes up too high. He waited quietly as Dani at first gave a look of mild surprise before looking him over more thoroughly.

He kept his thoughts to himself, not needing to be attacked by Kuro again. "Mac and Cheese. . ?" He knew what it was, and didn't exactly care to eat human's good that had been cooked and the likes. He very much so preferred raw food...preferably the stuff he could hunt. He definitely couldn't hunt what was in a box. . . But the odd look in Aoba's eyes made him sigh. Why was it so hard to refuse all of a sudden? "Fine. I guess I could get some." He expected that to be all, so he turned planning to wait for Aoba to return with the food.

"Really? Wait, where are you going?" At the confused sound, Aoba pointed to the door. "The foods inside the house. Come on. . .?" Not only had he offered him food, but he invited the demon inside to eat. 'This is one odd angel. . .' Dani turned around and began following Aoba out the barn. With a little courtesy, he closed it behind them. There was no need for the animals to be attacked by scavengers.

As soon as he feels the smaller demon approaching Kuro lets out a long sigh and prepares a third bowel of mac. 'I guess the Little Mouse's powers of persuasion are very powerful indeed to get that thick head to give something long dead and completely lacking in blood a try' Knowing Dani will most likely like his hot he brings all three bowls to the table and places them properly, quickly setting a place for Dani on the other side of the table. By the time the demon and angel enter Kuro is already seated on the couch in front of one of the bowels, and after a quick glance at Dani he motions to the still steaming hot bowl before giving Aoba a smile and scooting over slightly to indicate he should join the demon on the couch.

The smaller demon settles comfortably on the floor, eyeing the odd smelling concoction, his memory of it being far less colorful, however the smell, while not overly appealing, does not make him gag either. He does a bit f shuffling this way and that, getting in as close as he can to his meal, and subsequently, the angel. After a few quick glances at Kuro, watching him raise his fork and scoop up a decent sized bite, Dani copies the action and is quickly shoveling the mass of cheese bread and veggies into his moth. The hot nature of it makes him happier than the flavor, the burn reminding him of some hell dishes. He does not compliment the meal, rather his compliment is not criticizing it. Meanwhile Kuro watches Aoba, wondering what he thinks of the meal, while he himself closes his eyes into each bite.

Aoba plopped on the couch next to Kuro. He pulled his feet up and say with them crossed, almost as if he was trying to take up less space. As Dani ate, he didn't say much about the food so Aoba wondered if he didn't like it or not. Before he jumped to conclusions he decided to try it for himself. He gently blew in order to cool it down before he took a bite. "Mm, this is really good." He was muffled by food, but it was still coherent enough to understand. He quieted down to not be ride and talk with his mouth full. He didn't know if he was just really hungry or the food was really good, or both but he ended up finishing sooner than he thought. "Hm..." Before he got up, he looked over at Dani. "How is it?"

Dani paused with the fork going to his mouth. The look in his eye showed he was going to say something rude and more than likely mean. However, when he looked up at Aoba's innocent smile, he paused and rolled his eyes. "It's fine." He wasn't going to say it was the utmost greatest thing he ever tasted. . . Because it wasn't. He still preferred everything raw and with luck, still alive. But, he was starting to get the hang of not being so mean to the toy. . . That didn't mean he wouldn't slip up every now and then. He finished eating as Aoba went off to get some more food. When he was done, he took the time to examine the room he was in. It would probably be a while before he was let back inside, so he decided to examine it all he could. "Alright, I've eaten. I'm going to go back to the barn now." Before he left, he looked at Kuro with slight disgust. "Is this the kind of stuff you eat all day? Tch, are you even sure you're a demon. . . If anything you're probably as soft as that toy. . ." He grumbled the last part and turned away.

Aoba was in the kitchen looking into the pot. There was still some left over, so he didn't think it would be too bad to get some more. He wasn't paying attention to the talking between the brothers.

Kuro coughs lightly to hide a laugh as the angel tries to talk around his food. Dani flashes him a curious look but shrugs it off moments later. 'Ah,the adorableness factor is rising quickly off the charts' The taller demon muses, watching as Aoba all but inhales his food. 'I made a good choice for a first home cooked meal I think. I wonder what I should make for breakfast. . . Maybe a cobbler or some such. . .Snatch up some apples. Though. . .' He eyes Dani for a moment. 'I'm not sure about leaving these two alone for that long. . . .' Humming softly Kuro smiles and nods at the compliment, raising a fork in the 'Cheers' motion before setting back into his own thoughts.

So caught up in his own mind he almost doesn't notice the angel rising. He blinks rapidly, pulling his mind to the present best he can as his eyes lock on those much easier to see at his current eye line bare legs. He smiles, not trying to hide his admiration of the young angel as he walks away, however like most things in his life that he enjoys, his sibling soon ruins the moment. Tearing his eyes away from the tantalizing sight he looks to the smaller demon, a faint scowl on his face. Rolling his eyes he says with a huff, “No, this is not all I eat, I do prefer my meals to be meat, fresh and raw, but I am however able to appreciate human food, and whether you think it a good idea or not, I enjoy cooking.”

Dani simply lets out a scoff, pausing only long enough to listen before waltzing back outside. Not really caring what his big brother thinks of his eating habits Kuro savors the last few bites of his portion before following Aoba into the kitchen. With a sly smile he slides up behind the angel, moving in close to wrap his arms around the smaller figure. However rather than embracing the angel he simply picks up the ladle from the pot and serves himself another scoop and steps away to grab up a handful of crumbs. 'Ah, I tease too much, but it's so much fun!' Glancing covertly to the side he watches fro the younger male's reaction.

Aoba stands by the pot, tasting the food he had already put in his bowl. Kuro came up, so he started to move out of the way, only for him to wrap his arms around him once more. Aoba blinked and slowly ate a forkful of his own. He wasn't sure how to react, but then again with Kuro he was never sure. Instead of stumbling over it, Aoba continued eating and scooted away from him to go sit down. Kuro was such an odd demon. . . The thought made him smile, and he looked down at his bowl. 'Remember, he lacks a heart. He's a demon. Don't do anything stupid.' Aoba sat on the couch and continued eating.

By the looks of it, Dani had left. Well, at least he ate. The smaller demon left his bowl, so Aoba decided to take it to be cleaned- after eating his own food. It didn't take him long to finish the small second helping he had so it didn't take long for him to start cleaning. "Thank you again Kuro." He smiled and looked over at the demon. He moved towards him and decided to give him a light peck on the cheek. That's normally how Kuro rewarded him, so he didn't think it would be any harm in returning the favor at least once.

"Maybe you can teach me how to cook some time? You know, after I learn how to do everything else." Aoba gave an innocent smile before turning and yawning. "For now though, I'm tired." He stretched his arms over his head and walked to his room. There wasn't much else he needed or wanted to do. They did a lot in a matter of a day from getting the animals settled to flying to getting food. It was a lot for the fallen angel and he was exhausted. The more he thought about it, the more he yawned and felt it. "Good night." He looked back at Kuro before heading to his room.

As Aoba falls silent, pulling away as soon as the way is clear, Kuro returns his focus to his food and his face becomes unreadable. Rather than returning to the couch he decides to give the angel some space, turning around to lean against the counter while he eats. He keeps his eyes down, deep in thought. 'It is so interesting sometimes. First he will seem on edge,t hen strong, then there are times like this. . . .Where I know I missing something, but I cant actually put my finger on it, no matter how I try and figure. He would normally blush, or wriggles away, or just accept it and relax. . .Instead he. . .Waited for me to let go and didn't really have a response. It's like a new thought popped into his head that I am not privy to'

His head comes up as Aoba thanks him, eyes widening at the feather light kiss to his cheek. 'And then he does stuff like this that just throws me off like nobody’s business. . .' Smiling gently he nods, turning around to put away the leftovers. Over his shoulder he calls softly, “Good night, Little Mouse. . .Sweet dreams. . .” He keeps his eyes on his work as the angel returns the sentiment, still reeling a bit at the implications, or lack there of most likely, of the kiss. 'Is probably him copying me, doing it a a thanks, but if that's true, then. . .Then that is the only meaning he will ever get out of my little affections. . . And that just won't do. . .'

Sighing softly, Kuro finishes putting the food away, the old fridge rattling to life as the door closes. Clicking the downstairs lights off he glances at the stairs before making his way out back, opening and closing the back door as quietly as possible. Once he's sure the angel isn't looking out his bedroom window the demon makes his way over to where he tossed the spice rack and picks it up. After one more long look the wood suddenly goes up in a blaze of black flame and in a matter of seconds it is dust in the wind. With another long sigh he makes his way back inside and collapses carefully on to the couch and closes hi eyes. Sleep is not swift in coming, and when eventually his mind manages to slips away into the unconcious realm, his sleep is fitful at best.

However, morning finds him none the less refreshed, and ready to face another day of work and toil, a light song on his lips as he begins fixing breakfast. Dani had been given a hard look before Kuro took off the grab the apples he needed for what he had planned the night before. The smaller demon had grumbled and whined, but when Kuro promised him something sweet he'd grudgingly agree to keep a sharp eye out. 'He may be picky with his sweets, but I'm sure he'll like this' His song becomes a little louder as he senses movement from the upstairs occupant, a light smile on his lips. Opening the oven he check on breakfast, nodding happily as it seems almost done. Feeling very much like a housewife he puts away the clean dishes and sets out three plates for the morning meal.

He didn't get too much of reaction when he gave Kuro a light kiss. And, oddly enough, that's what he expected. He figured, the little displays of affection wouldn't mean too much to Kuro, even if Aoba thought it meant just a little more. The fallen angel wouldn't do it too often, but was sure he could get away with it every now and then. Quietly he made his way up the steps and to his room. It was a pretty night, so he saw out his window, but climbed right into bed. Fatigue seemed to hit quick, because he was out in the matter of minutes.

Morning rolled along, but Aoba slept in a little later than usual. Normally he'd be up bright and early with the sun, but that wasn't the case that morning. When he woke, his wings stretched out when he realized the blanket wasn't over him. Aoba yawned and then sat up, folding his wings back as he did. Somewhat still asleep, he shuffled over to the bathroom and cleaned up. He stifled another yawn as he got dressed for the day. "Oh, I wonder if I should hurry so we can feed the animals?" That thought was quickly brushed aside when he smelled something cooking downstairs. "How nice." Kuro took the time to make food was definitely nice, and it made Aoba feel like he should really try and do something for the demon's hard work, even if he said he owed him.

Aoba made his way down the steps in new attire and noticed the three bowls instead of two. 'He included Dani too? I wonder why, not that I mind it.' He was a little happy that Kuro was allowing Dani inside. Maybe it would calm the smaller demon down some, and he'd act less violent. He gave a small shrug, doubting his morning rambling thoughts and walked over to the kitchen. "Good morning Kuro. What are you making?"
Dani had planned on going on an early hunt, but decided to postpone it. The idea of getting sweets had him wait, a little impatiently outside. Hearing Aoba wake up, he decided to wander inside knowing that he wouldn't be able to cause too much trouble with his brother watching him like a hawk. He put on a cute childish smile when Aoba noticed him. "Oh, good morning Dani." Dani merely nodded and plopped onto the couch, watching the two of them interact. It was still...odd, but this was Kuro. He was the oddball kid.

Turning off the stove Kuro's head tilts to the side, listening to the sound of the angel in the bathroom. He lets himself fantasize for a moment before pulling the food out of the oven and setting it on the sill behind the sink to cool. Spotting Dani off in the grass whipping around at the smell he motions for the smaller demon to head inside, and keep his hands off the cobbler. 'Knowing him he would just snatch it off the sill and swallow it whole, grabbing up all of it rather than just his portion' He rolls his eyes at the image of Dani coated in apple cobbler before turning to look at the stairs, watching Aoba come into view.

Looking the angel over he gives him an approving nod, appreciating the way the clothes seem to suit him despite his natural attire being far different. 'Even thought I still keep imagining him in his robes, and they just felt right, these clothes fit him near perfectly. Perhaps, some day, when I have time, I can get some practice in with a needle and thread and make him some farmer style robes. I already know how sewing works, so it shouldn't bee too hard. After all, I plan on mending his clothes anyways. . .I really have turned into a house wife. . .And I'm not. . .' His thoughts trail off, not really willing to finish that last one just yet. “It's apple cobbler. Plenty of natural sugars for energy, and the crust will help with filling your stomach for a while.”

Wandering over to Aoba, wiping his hands on a hand towel tucked into his pants like an apron. Gripping the back of Aoba's head he places a soft kiss on his forehead, saying softly, “Good morning, Little Mouse. . .” Giving the young one a smirk he wanders back into the kitchen, pulling out the towel and throwing it on the counter before Dani sees it and spends the entire morning pointing out what Kuro has already concluded in his head. 'Last thing I need is him in the mood to get on my nerves. Dani can be a real pain with nothing more than his mouth and one good bit of material when he wants to be. . .Speak of the demon' Kuro turns to looks at his big brother, giving him a faint nod in greeting before turning his attention on to the cobbler.

Having had a busy morning, Fenrir had not a moment to spare a glance at the mirror, keeping it locked safely in his desk while he dealt with one emergency after another. A clash had taken place in the wee hours of the morning and had left several angels in critical condition. At the time he'd thought it very strange, the demon activity not really being high as of late, but as he thinks back in it all, he concludes that it has been rising steadily since. . . . “Since we captured the son. . .Kuro. . .” he says aloud with a long sigh, collapsing back into his desk chair. The door to his office swings closed moments later, and without really thinking about it he unlocks the drawer holding the mirror and pulls out the wrapped bundle.

'But we lost him, he's back on earth. Did he. . .Not tell anyone that he's back? That's not possible. Aoba has definitely been attacked, and he would not have killed his own kind. . .would he? Being so kind to Aoba. . .' As the mirror comes into focus the arch angel can feel both his muscles tense, and his heart relax at the sight before his eyes. The demon is in the kitchen, grabbing something, looks to be food, off the windowsill, and the other one, the smaller one, is sitting calmly on the couch with a wide childish smile on his lips. His head tilts to the side a bit at the sight of Aoba in such colors, the outfit not suiting him whatsoever, however Fenrir knows he's a little prejudice and tries to consider the fact that at least he's not dressed in black. 'Not just yet at least' He eyes the gray wings, a look of strong sorrow crossing his features as he continues to watch the little fallen angel interact with the demons.

Grabbing up the cobbler Kuro wanders into the living room, portioning the dish out into the bowels as evenly as he can before plopping the pan the sink and returning to the living room. Electing to take the floor seat this time, the taller demon keeps a close eye on his brother as he begins eating.

The couch was large enough for both Dani and Aoba, so Aoba didn't hesitate to take a seat. Dani had been sitting in the middle, so he was forced to move over. That caused a low growl to form, but it silenced almost as soon as it started. Aoba was too busy still blushing ever so lightly towards the kiss to pay attention to Dani's short threat. When he did notice, Dani was just his normal and playful childish self. The innocent behavior made him smile. 'What an odd demon. Kuro's whole family must be fairly odd if these two are like this.' He blinked at the thought. Kuro's family hailed from Satan. That nearly slipped his mind. He could never forget that Kuro was not only a demon, but also a high ranking demon which meant his dad...could show up....whenever.

The idea made his wings fold tighter. It interrupted Dani's curious poking at them. Why hadn't he thought about that before? Then he remembered why. Because he knew he would start to panic at the thought. Aoba took a deep breath and sighed as Kuro came over with the food. Dani had watched the quiet panic in confusion, wondering if he had did something wrong. . . Maybe he just didn't like his wings being touched. . . Though that was too bad because Dani was going to do it anyway. "Th-Thank you Kuro." He cleared his throat and slowly grabbed his bowl, pulling his legs up to cross them. Dani on the other hand swiped up the bowl and began chowing down. Once again, he didn't acknowledge if it was good or bad, he only ate the food. Aoba supposed it was better than spitting it out.

Aoba tried the cobbler, taking a small bite at first. "Oh, yum!" He grinned and happily ate his share of cobbler. While eating, and trying not to be rude and speak with his mouthful, Aoba spoke up. "Kuro, I remember I left the seeds Father Gerard gave me in the barn. Are we going to do anything with those yet? Or do we just tend to the animals for now?" He paused and looked over at Dani who scoffed.

"Work, work, work. Is that all you think about? Learn to have some fun." Dani rolled his eyes and set the empty bowl down. "Oi! Kuro, give me more!" He demanded, only to be pouted at by Aoba. "What?"

"Kuro worked hard to make that food. You're supposed to say please Dani, not demand for it." Dani's wings visibly drooped at the idea of thanking his younger brother. His eyes narrowed as if he was going to attack the toy in front of him. Aoba blinked and scooted away, only to squeak a little when Dani growled and showed his fangs. The demon wasn't going to do anything, but it was still to scare him because the fallen angel had obviously forgot his place around them. Dani was tempted to snap at Aoba, maybe even biting him too but he held it together.

Kuro's eyes snap to his brother at the growl, but Dani checks himself and the little brother relaxes. Despite his avid attention for detail on his brother, Kuro watches out of the corner of his eye as Aoba seems to think of something that makes him tense. 'Now what is that about? Is he sensing some threat off of Dani that I am not?' He eyes Dani. 'No, I know him better than that. Then what could it. . .' As he settles in to eat his food Aoba seems to relax ever so slightly and the demon is able to let out a sigh, glad he seems at least a little distracted from whatever had put him on edge. Rolling his eyes at the way the smaller demon eats, not really disapproving since that's just normal for him, but still a little annoyed at the noises such scarfing produces.

His face melts into a warm smile as the food seems to do it's job, delighting the angel enough to produce a smile and a happy tone of voice. “My pleasure, Little Mouse.' he murmurs, setting into his own portion. He looks up when Aoba asks about the seeds, however his mouth is full so he can't reply right away. His eyes snap back to his brother as he seems to get all huffy over the angel's focus on being productive, and he can sense something building in the smaller demon. Finishing his mouthful he sets his bowl down, more than willing to share with his brother, however the sudden turn causes him to tense.

~*~*~*~*~

Fenrir watches, intrigued by the rather domestic look of it all. The two on the couch, one of the floor, enjoying a meal together and talking openly. It's almost enough o let him forget that it's two demons and an angel, and angel he cares about, and that the situation is not only strange, but dangerous. He is quickly reminded of that however when the smaller demon turns on Aoba, it clear even without sound that he's being threatening to the little angel. His eyes widen, sitting up straighter and clutching the mirror in both hands. However, before too much panic can build, the small demon falls from the couch clutching at his shoulder, the larger demon looking at him with glowing eyes, his hand held up before him in a loose fist. “What in the. . . .”

~*~*~*~*~

Dani whimpers and snarls from the floor, his over exaggerated reaction to the light squeeze to his wings not being bought by the one at the other end of the leash at all. When the pain recedes he scrambles on to all fours, ready to bolt, however his eyes narrow as he watches his little brother scrap some of his own portion into his bowl. Rolling his eyes and huffing Dani ignores completely what just happened, scooting over to much down more of the sweet treat. However he decides it's better for now to sit on the floor, the temptation of playing mean with the toy a little too strong right now, and he's rather not feel that pinch again.

On the other hand, Kuro settles back into a cross legged position with a soft sigh and gives Aoba a warm smile. “We should get things planted as soon as possible, so if we can, we should get started on at least tilling. We'll have to do it by hand, so not the largest harvest this year, but hopefully we'll be able to sell enough to start saving up for some farm equipment.” Dani huffs, earning a glare from his little brother.

He sticks out his tongue in response. “Why use money, you could do it all magically in like, ten seconds,or even make this farm equipment, whatever that is, in even less time. . .And why do this farming thing at all!? It's stupid, Kurotama can make anything he wants or needs out of this air. There's no reason to live in this little mud hole.”

The last part is directed at Aoba, however it's Kuro who answers. “Do you really think heaven would put up with him living off a demon? He got banished here, and from what I understand, he's suppose to be learning a lesson. If I just give him everything, I'm sure they'll take him away, maybe even cloak him, or even worse, send him to hell for disobeying. Yahweh has been known to be wrathful you know.” He huffs softly. “Besides, there's nothing wrong with wanting to work for something. No matter what I make, it's a hollow thing. Earning something actually feels good.” Dani had never had to work for anything in his life, and even what he's done for Kuro, Aoba, and the farm, have all been either to avoid punishment, or because he had nothing better to do. He looks very confused, hissing slightly at the sound of one of God's many names, but he does not reply, instead finishing his meal and wandering outside to think.
