"What you are about to enter is a world beyond what you will ever think of. Its filled with bizzare, fantastic, and amazing objects will shatter everything you ever thought about the world. And this place itself... No matter how much time I have spent here, I have yet to find out all of its secrets. And the people incharge of it will surprise you. But, I think that this simple introduction is enough, and that you will see what I mean in mere moments.

A simple introduction to the Warehouse


Welcome to the roleplay Warehouse 13: A Different Day to Live In! This is my version of the roleplay, and a beginning, I will give a simple definination of the Warehouse:

The Warehouse is a large facility in South Dakota that is able to constantly expand the amount of items held within it, due to being placed right next to a mountain and being underground. It has many different sectors, depending on the objects stored and how dangerous they are considered to be. There is the main area, which contains most of the general artifacts, and it can be considered extremely large, being as far as the eye can see. While it does have an actual end, it is very easy to get lost in it and think the place has no actual end. There are many smaller areas which contain artifacts according to either a time period, being extremely dangerous, or just plain whacky.

The Warehouse is run by a group of people known as the regents, who are a group of average people from all around the world, and they make the large choices for the Warehouse, as well as ensure it runs smoothly. Along with the regents, there is a single person known as the Caretaker. The Caretaker is the person who is directly responsible for the Warehouse, being in direct contact of it and the people running it at all times, when he or she are needed. The Caretaker is given certain special abilities to ensure he has a special connection to the Warehouse, and only very certain people can be chosen.

When it comes to collecting the artifacts, tagging them and managing the inner parts of the Warehouse, there are agents. There can be any number of agents at any given time, and they are only granted access if they were invited by the Caretaker, after the latter has deemed them to be right for the job. They go around the world, chasing the artifacts as they appear on the surface, and after they manage to ensure it harmed no one and move it safely to the Warehouse, they tag it and then place it in the appropiate place, which is usually defined pre-maturely to the artifact's arrival. Once in its proper place, the agents go on to the next case.

Personality: comes off a stick in the mud know it all, due to her upraising she is always reaching to be the best at what she does, but she is very loyal

History: born and raised in Eureka, Oregon her father was a lead Scientist for a government building in the city, when she was 14 she and her mother left the city and set up roots in Las Vagas where her mother was born and had family. It was there that she really started to shine honors in school and varsity track, when she left highschool she was given a full ride to a grade A collage, it was there she had her first taste of a artifact.

Revan, I might allow some special traits, but things like Pete's vibes or Jinxy Lie detector, which had a flawless rate of being correct, are gonna go into the case of no. But if you want to make it so that you can detect most lies, but some could slip under the radar (If the character is emotional, or if the character if facing a professional liar) then I would allow it. But feel free to let me know what you have in mind I'll be happy to say if I'll approve it or not.

zombiechun, I'm afriad that the cs is a bit too simple.

1) I would like that you expand her personality a bit and the History, as both seem very short.
2) Near perfect memory would go into the traits and not skills, and I'd like you to add to both.

Change the things I mentioned and I would be happy to review it once more.

Personality: Axle tends to be a bit... Accentric, but he is eager to do field work whenever possible. He is quick witted and calculating, but he has very little patience for fools or people wasting his time. If he thinks you're lying to him he will be royally angry at you, he might even hit you if you keep up the charade. He has a hard time following orders, especially if he sees an opening to something he can use to get leverage.

He has a habit of using shakespearian language (thou art, thine is, ect.). You will catch him saying 'Your time is nye' and 'Have at ye' on occasion.

History: Axle was the youngest of 7 sibling (4 boys 3 girls). From the day he was born he was in theater, not that he enjoyed theater, he prefered things like WWE (It was WWF when he started watching), Boxing,and UFC. He worked out from the the age of 13 he started working out at the local gym, at the age of 15 he was in his first boxing match, kept secret from his parents who didn't approve, he had broken his nose first fight and was knocked out second round. He tried to lie to his parents but his catty sister ratted him out moments earlier.

As soon as he could, at 18 he had joined the military, and was shipped off to Afghanistan right after he finished basic training. Life over the pond wasn't that bad. He was friendly with his squad members, though there were some cocky jerks he didn't like that much. Then on one fateful day when he was 21, his career path took a sharp turn.

His squad was taking out an al-qaeda cap he was order to kill a kid, by his commanding officer. He didn't want to comply but his Commanding Officer was brutal, "I told you shoot the F***ing kid" his CO repeated gruffly. "I won't." Axle said on the brink of tears, although he was aimed on him, the child crying of his father's corpse. "I'll do it!" said another squaddie by the nickname of 'The Bull'. "Don't!" I yelled, "You're a coward, Niebo." Bull said, the light shining off of his bald head flickered, as he shot the kid. Axle was sorrowful as he saw the child bleed out. His team left to go and burn the camp down. The child moaned as is calling to Axle, which caught his attention, and the child pointed a building where the other soldiers weren't investigating at the time. Axle complied with the dying child's wish, he entered what turned out to be the child's home, he turned back to see the life drained from the childs face. While investigating the home he didn't find much except what looked to be a shroud that was pitch black. He took the shroud and stuffed it down his shirt because he heard the others coming.

"Hey, Niebo?" Axles only real friend in the squad, Vince said. "Listen, I don't know what you are feeling... I don't think I could do it either, but Bull... He's a animal." Vince continued seeing the stunned look on Axles face as they traveled bat to their camp, Bull just smiled at that remark. Axle seeing the grin on Bull's face, made him fill with a burning rage he had never felt before, he was about to go ballistic on Bull, but as soon as Axle stood up as if on cue an I.E.D goes off right under them, at least 5 miles from base camp. Axle blacked out, and woke up with a a pipe through his chest, although he felt nothing, he then pulled out the pipe as if there was a hole in his chest. Other then the pipe Axle was unharmed, though everyone else was brutally hurt.

Axle stood up, and a man appeared before him as if being made out of the sand, "Hello, I am Mister Stephen Lincoln and I would like that shroud." The man roughly the same age as Axle said. Stunned Axle complied with Stephens order. Then Stephen puts the shroud in the bag, the bag sparks, "I will talk to you later." says Stephen before disappearing just like he had appeared moments before. Then a moan comes from one of the corpses, Axle walks over to it, it is Bull. Axle calls for an emergency team was informed that they were on their way already, they arrived moments later and took Axle and Bull away to a medical tent.

The medics were amazed at the contrast of the soldiers that were in the same car that had exploded, Bull had to much shrapnel in his left leg so they amputated it, and Bull right eye popped during the explosion. Axle was sent out of the medical tent after a check up, being only scraped and bruised. He went directly to his tent, which he had shared with Vince. Then there was a knock on his tent at least an hour later, "Come in." Axle said laying on his bed, he was expecting a soldier but it was Stephen, "You?" Axle said with a small fright, "I noticed you had grab the shroud when the boy pointed, as if by instinct, you will be discharged tomorrow, but you will be sent to South Dakota, go to this address" Stephen hands Axle a note. A medic opens the tent fly, and Stephen vanished. "Mister Niebo, You're being discharged." she said.

Axle arrived in North Dakota, he went to the Address, everything was explained. His family thinks he died with the other soldiers. Axle started from the bottom and worked his way up. The rest is history.
Skills: Military training, a good knowledge of artifacts.
Traits: He has PTSD, and he is a great actor.
Role in the Warehouse: Veteran Agent, sent on his own to collect Artifacts sometimes.
Weapon: Custom 9mm Pistol (Red dot sight an a silencer.
Other: N/A

Name of the Artifact: Shroud of Anubis
The effects it creates: Indestructible shroud. It can absorb many things, in the name of protection protection. The more someone uses it, the more their sanity drains.
History of the Artifact: It was part of King Tut's Mummification, until grave robbers stole it it had been passed around all of the middle east for centuries.

Charlie, Axle is accepted, but I do hope you remember that Veteran agent doesn't mean Head agent :)

Anyways, Welcome to Warehouse 13! And we will begin as soon as we have a a Head agent and another agent, or two other agents. But I already got word a Head Agent CS might be on the way, so that might soon.

Also, its nice to see someone already making an original artifact. I will have to ask that there will be a negative side effect to it before accepting it, as a shroud which protects the holder at all costs is quite powerful, and would be used often if it doesn't have a negative and thats not something I want to happen too much.

Personality:In her early life she was friendly, prone to playing pranks on her coworkers, and generally happier, though still rather quiet. Later in her life she became emotionally scarred and caused her to become the rigid, somewhat withdrawn person starting with a tragic experience. She is fiercely loyal doing whatever it takes to keep her friends safe, sometimes her methods are harsh even cruel. She subscribes to the philosophy that the morality of one’s actions can only be judged by the consequences of the actions.

History: She was raised in a family with a long history of military service, she wanted nothing to do with the sexual discrimination inherent in the military. She chose to serve differently, she joined the CIAI. After training she moved to Europe. She served throughout the waning years of the Cold War. She performed several assassinations a few with a bullet from several buildings away but most were with poisons slipped into drinks of the men she was flirted and danced with. The assassinations never bothered her, they were orders and she always followed orders without question.
After the dissolution of Soviet Union she was recalled back to the United States, it was her first time back since she finished training. It didn’t feel like home, she was constantly restless and on edge. For a time she trained future female agents, but with the budget cuts there wasn’t many to recruit.
In 1993 after the February 26th bombing of the World Trade Center she was put on counter-terrorism. Her specific assignment was to root out and eliminate those who financed terrorists. It was on her tenth assignment that everything went pear-shaped. An oil tycoon with a beef against the west was funding terrorism, it was supposed to be a simple mission, dose his drink at a party and leave. As always there was security and security requires a team.
Her team watched from the outside, at one point half her team became corrupted, those that were corrupted lead an assault to protect the target. The members of the team that weren’t corrupted were all killed. She was nearly killed; the person who shot her was her lover. After being shot she tracked them down, to this day she can’t and won’t recall everything that happened, all she can and will tell you is that it was completely necessary to destroy the entire building killing a hundred people because it was absolutely necessary to end the threat to every nation on the planet. She was sent to prison for the rest of her life until she was approached by Mr. Lincoln with an invitation to endless wonder.

She accepted the invitation and has been agent for the Warehouse ever since, as a Warehouse agent she has seen endless wonders & terrors. She has seen her friends, coworkers, and partners died, one thing has always remained the same she lived, constantly watching those she cared for die. When she was promoted to Warehouse supervisor she took on a consequentialism view point to ensure that no one under her charge would ever die.

Trust me, i know Vet. don't mean head. He is going to go Rogue at some point, of course.

I was thinking that the longer something is in the shroud it drains someones sanity over extended use.

Alright, that sounds good, but I still like that you will add it to the effects of the artifact, as it is part of the effect. Other than that, the Shroud of Anubis is accepted.

Gonna make a list of known artifacts now.

Personality: Herbert can be a bit spazzy at times especially when he's deep in a case or when he's excited about something in which case he's always excited. Hyper, loyal, and disconnected from other people form the base of Herbert's personality. Some would call him a nerd or bookworm others would just describe him as a workaholic. Though, when he does connect with someone he is loyal to the end to them and holds his friends close. Herbert is also at most normal social interactions usually fine with other people doing the talking while he studies or snoops around.

History: Herbert grew up in a modest middle class family. Nothing odd happened to him or anyone he knew his parents were bother teachers and at a young age Herbert learned to love history and books in general, He loved reading and writing and looking up different historical events. With that in mind Herbert soon graduated high school easily and went off to college for a history degree. After getting his bachelors in that he was accepted to the Smithsonian as a junior cataloger.

After only three months on the job Herbert was involved in an incident that can't exactly be explained even today. A senior cataloger and Herbert were reviewing the contents they recieved from an anonymous source to the museum. Inside there was a first edition of "Grapes Of Wrath" also a small well worn notebook full of scribbles. As the senior researcher opened and scanned the notebook his hands started to dissolve as if made by dust. Blinking and panicking Herbert threw the first edition at the notebook away from his partner and as soon as it hit the floor the effects seemed to stop at least for the moment.

Herbert ran over to his hurt partner and realized he was not alone. Someone else seemed to have grabbed both the first edition and notebook in an odd looking bag and also coming over to help the hurt person. That night in his little apartment Herbert ran into the Caretaker and he just couldn't give up the promise of "Endless Wonder". He has now been at the Warehouse for one full year and hasn't died yet. ((Hope the quip about the Grapes of Wrath notebook is all right and allowed))

Skills: A dedicated researcher Herbert seems to have an almost dictionary memory of artifacts at times though no human is perfect. He's quick to look up historical events and people. He is a good tool when narrowing down possible artifacts. He also seems to have most of the Warehouse manual memorized but there are a lot of volumes to read.

Traits: A bit wishy washy when it comes to field work but definately a trooper and he does love getting out in the field. He's quick to disconnect with people they encounter but keeps an open mind on what an artifact may be just keeps a skeptical eye on any people involved excluding the agents he knows.

Role in the Warehouse: Agent and he often pulls up random old case files to keep up with what artifacts are in the warehouse. He hopes to learn them all one day.
Weapon: He uses a Tesla but keeps a taser on him to show when questioned.
Other: He is still listed as working for the Smithsonian while it can get him to some places others can't go it does get raised eyebrows at murder scenes.

Name of the Artifact: Natalie Nishimura’s Prison Rags
The effects it creates: Makes the wearer and those in the vicinity lose all hope, they go into a deep depression, they also will periodically and at random experience the feelings of being tortured and raped. It cannot be removed by the wearer.
History of the Artifact: Natalie Nishimura was arrested for mass murder and espionage, thrown in jail for life she was tortured for information and raped by the prison staff for three years. She also had any organ she could spare against her will. Over the three years the constant rape and torture and knowing that is all she will ever experience for the rest of her life imbued the rags with the power to inflect the same upon the wearer and those around him/her.

More or less, the group’s coffee/tea/lunch jockey…not that she minds, she’s actually pretty glad she can be of use.
If you work at the Warehouse you are either an Agent or someone who maintains the inventory &/or runs the B&B where all the non-supervisors live. They don't have gofers.

You need to familiarize yourself with the tv show.

Also your artifact is not something that would exist, it is created by a person not some random thing doing random shit.

Major Ursa, much like Revan said, there isnt really anyone who actually just serves food in the Warehouse. Closest thing that could get to that is being the owner of the B&B, where the agents sleep. So you could change to that role instead.

As for the history, she wouldn't have been upgraded by just anyone. She wouldv'e been approached by the Caretaken, Mr Stephen Lincoln, and offered to join a world of Endless Wonder. As the owner of the B&B, your character will often be inside the Warehouse and not sent on missions, but she can still have plenty of things to do inside the Warehouse itself.

As for the artifact, its fine and all, but it should have something that triggers it after it has been captured and neutralized.

Besides that, nice CS, and once you have made the changes I will gladly accept the CS.

On another note, the opening IC post will be online shortly.
