True, if you have any good healthy ish recipes, I'm all ears. It's one thing to make a salad but I like taking veggies and making them taste good, instead of just adding dressing. ^^

Was it you that didn't like Greek food? I've got a really great salad recipe that doesn't have lettuce in it and it's really perfect for summer. There's also a spring pea and asparagus pasta that's really good, but I'll have to hunt for the actual recipe. I don't know it off the top of my head like the salad.

I'm not a big Greek fan, i find it too "light" flavor wise. Though spring pea and asparagus pasta sounds real good. Nothing light fresh veggies and pasta, you get to indulge but also have some healthy bits too. :3 I have a recipe for chocolate chip cookies that make them pretty healthy, calorie wise.

Woo, I am sure the down time will come and go with the babies, near death experiences are just the beginning~

Do you like feta? You could probably leave the Kalamata olives out, or sub in black olives/another vegetable. Finding the other recipe was easier than I thought, haha. Yaay for organization!

Summer Pesto Penne (Serves 6):
Bring liberally salted water to a boil in a sauce pot.
In the food processor, add:
1 cup packed parsley
1/2 cup packed mint leaves
1/3 cup walnut halves
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 smashed garlic cloves (or more, this is pretty much to taste, imo)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Pulse until ALMOST smooth and then with the motor still running, slowly steam in 1/3 cup of olive oil then 1/4 cup of water until smooth.

Cook 1lb of penne in the salted water according to package directions (I've done this with rigatone and farfalle, but I image any ribbed noodle would work?)
4 Minutes before pasta is totally cooked, add in 1 bunch of asparagus cut into 1 inch pieces.
2 Minutes before noodles are done, add in 2 cups of frozen peas
Drain.

Toss pasta and veggies with the pesto and 1/4 tsp salt (optional)
Top with 1/3 cup of ricotta cheese.
(The ricotta didn't do much for me, so I usually leave it out but maybe you can find a better brand and make it work, haha.)

I'm toying with the idea of Haymitch kissing her. He doesn't want to make Peeta's job harder, but damn that got to him <3

Not a fan of olives or onions. Haha. Feta is alright, I just tried a harder cheese called Midnight Moon, so good.

And hey thanks for digging it out for me! I need to figure out what to make this week. I just roasted red potatoes and we had kielbasa and grilled asparagus. ^^ But that dish sounds pretty low key and I did just buy some ricotta (it's okay, but I don't like the texture so I need to do something with it) so it could be used without much trouble. I would probably wanna add carrots too because I love add carrots to my pasta sauces, I don't care what my parents say lol

You're welcome! I hope you like it, haha. It's nice to share recipes with someone who actually cooks. I think carrots would work just fine in it and add some extra crunch. I like ricotta but I just didn't feel like it did anything for the pasta when the pesto was enough? Although potatoes and kielbasa sound amazing, not gonna lie. When I was painting my grandma's place, my grandpa made something similar but it was a stew and oh god, it was so good.

That's true, haha. I just feel like he's constantly holding himself back but it's like, they're pretty much fucked anyway and he might as well do what he wants? Especially if Katniss wants kisses <3 Prim and Gale can't be the only cuties.

It's like...I'm trying to think, like Parmesan and white cheddar had a baby. It's a little salty, sweet, could go in mac and cheese or just with crackers. I didn't buy enough when I was up in Napa. >__<

I still can't believe some people can't cook. I can believe some people can't fix a car, but cook? Cooking is fun, follow directions or not, it's pretty hard to burn down a kitchen. ^^; I add carrots in my meat ragu (be it turkey or other meat) and I make a good goulash which is like hamburger helper but from scratch, nice MN recipe that is easy and tasty. I could be a good wifey to someone, I'm just waiting. Of course cooking for someone else is kinda frightening too, I'd hate to make something they don't like.

Pesto is good too, I like it fresh. My dad loves it too. I thought it would be too hot to grill today but it was just right, we also have some lemon strawberry short cake for dessert. Where we moved, the gated residence, has a farmers market every Friday morning so we get fresh meat and fruit and veg there, and a nun sells dessert she makes a convent in the city. ^^; They are so good. Praise God lol

I feel like Peeta is already in the mindset of 'damage control' before they even make it public. I'm sure he'd sell it as finding love in a hopeless place and they're badass together. Gale and Prim get to be cute lovers and Haymitch and Katniss have the forbidden thing going for them. Gosh, soap operas don't write themselves, I am sure the public will be amused, shocked and watching intently. <3

I don't know if it's that they can't cook, or if they don't want to so everything comes out bad? It's something that I enjoy and I like to share it with people but it's not for everyone. Although if I had to exist on frozen stuff and sandwiches, I'd probably want to learn how to cook anyway. That's awesome, though. I love the farmer's market. I'm currently trying to find a place that sells raw milk, or will deliver it down here. Most dairies that do are like 2 hours away or you have to join a co-op and it's like, I just want milk, not the cow?

Yeah, it's supposed to be good for asthma and all kinds of other stuff. You'd use it like you would regular milk. I'm not sure what the taste is like, but I can't imagine it's horrible. I know it's sold in your state, but you can only get it from certain dairies around here.

I think it's going to make them look bad, haha. I mean, the Katniss and Peeta love story was a big deal, even if it was a lie but I can't imagine something like that would make anyone look good. They're gonna be alright though <3 little cuties.

I'm not sure. It's regulated to all hell, so I'd probably have to go across state lines and bring it back or something, if Ohio even sells raw milk. I should check because I'm honestly pretty close to the border.

I have no idea, honestly. It's usually from stress but other times it just happens for no reason. It was under control for a while but now it's like, HEY I'M HERE TO RUIN YOUR LIFE AGAIN. And it's really hot and humid, so that's not helping at all. And no, thankfully that cleared up. I don't think I could handle stomach issues and my joints giving me problems at the same time.

The humidity? The rain is gone for the summer at least right? Would stretching or yoga help at all? I know it helps some people but if you're in pain, I know it might not be feasible either. Or like water aerobics, that's helped my mom at times. I sometimes get joint pain when I wake up in my fingers, I can't imagine what you must be going through. I'd be pretty damn grumpy I'm sure. If there's anything I can do, let me know~ I like helping if I can~

The rain is never gone here, haha. It's humid as hell all summer and then the rain turns into snow in like, November. Yoga helps sometimes but when there are days that I can't even stand to take a shower, the last thing I want to do is balance on one leg. If I had a pool, or there was one at the community center, I'd be all about water aerobics, haha.

I got you a post, though. Still flaring but it's not as bad in my fingers today. I hope everything is in order but if you need me to add/change anything, just let me know!

Humidity all summer really blows. Speaking of, is there at least a decent breeze? I bet going outside usually seems like a big chore, at least that's how I'd see it. Heat makes me grumpy for sure. I'm sorry the pain and weather are against you. It's a shame you can't use a pool either, supposedly that sort of circulation may help.

Speaking of, my mom ended up having a nasty fall at work yesterday. It came up at soon as I was going to pick a friend up for movies, board games and baking. She ended up falling onto a cactus (why someone put that in a break room at a VA is beyond me...very random and hazardous) so she ended up calling me to have dad go pick her up and take her to the emergency room. Now her arm is in a sling as she has to take plenty of pills to deal with the pain of falling on it and having a cactus go through her arm. If I were her, I'd consider suing but it wouldn't do much good...*sighs* So yesterday was filled with that big mess but I am here all day today to write and finish Pacific Rim. *loading it again now* :3

I'm taking a look at the post now, it's fine if it's not too long. You're a good writer so long or short, I'm always happy to get something from you. I've been in such a slump this week--just avoiding everything because I feel like my writing has taken a shitty turn. I'm about to start working on something for you, though and I hope it doesn't suck. I'm sorry you've had to wait so long for these last couple of posts.
