Also, after this war, I assume Italy is going to invade Rome because the ToC will no longer be in effect. So that either leaves you with Switzerland or some minor country that will still leave you weak.

I think right now, the French are supporting the Papacy. The Franco-Prussian War led France to withdraw their troops from Rome, which allowed Italy to take the city.

Therefore, I would strong advise against it, just because you will most likely have to switch for a third time.
