I enjoyed playing South Africa in the last WiR iteration. You're essentially a big fish in a small pond; a European power with advanced technology surrounded by foes that are quite literally restricted to throwing spears at you.

There's that role reprise again. Boers get a new general, Robertus Lij, and fight for states' rights and independence!

It's like the poor man's CSA.

I feel obligated to mention that I have started the process of creating a stat based NRP based off of WiR (thank you Outcast) that is the Age of Exploration with a twist...

Just throwing that out there. If anyone can help me with stats/game dynamics/technical mechanics, PM me please. It starts in 1492...

EDIT: Robert E. Lee should get his own Polandball just for this game...

Been a while since I posted something, so I figured I would do some politics and borrow heavily from the excellent dialogue of Lincoln.

Funny, I already have a stat-based game. The stats work very well, but the core gameplay and diplomacy/trade need work. PM whatcha need help with, specifically?

Is Lincoln going crazy over power like the Queen?

Just a little kick in the butt to get Congress moving. Also, he is supposed to have said the "clothed in immense power" line.

*Nods* Lincoln was in the right for abolishing Slavery, but a lot of the things he did in Congress from what I understand really make "Honest Abe" a misnomer. He really expanded the power of the Federal government and Executive branch if I remember right.

The only time he really meddled with Congress was when it came to the 13th Amendment, usually he was cool about following whatever Congress wanted. His old party, the Whigs, were against all the executive control Andrew Jackson tried to take when he was president. But in other matters he took control. Funny enough, Davis always complained about his lack of executive and federal control of the Confederate states is what did him and the South in. Davis only ever had one advantage that Lincoln didn't and that was the line-item veto.

@Pasta: Seems kinda unfair to wrong him for that though. He was trying to do something that a lot of people in the country were against doing. He had to be a little forceful if he ever wanted to get it done.

If I get a shitty roll and George McClellan is elected, so help me fucking god...

Although, I think with both Grant and Sherman within spitting distance of Charleston and more people becoming in favor of abolition I think I'd have to get a really bad roll to have Lincoln lose.

If McClellan wins the presidency, I am going to laugh (and cry at the same time).

Anyways, Byrd's post are always a treat to read.

If McClellan is elected, I think the war will still go on (if Wikipedia is correct).

Sorry, it's my Southern Heritage coming out. Also my libertarian politics, but I'll just shut up now since I don't want this to turn into argument central as this thread has a habit of doing.
