There were numerous campaigns during the Opium Wars that were fought on land (incredibly successfully, I might add), and Britain defeated the Indian rebellion of 1857 despite most of the rebellious provinces being completely landlocked and heavily densely populated. Even with this ridiculous China-Japan alliance (a feat that could never feasibly be accomplished even in the modern day, miraculously completed in 1863!), I wouldn't discount European superiority quite yet.

Ya know...instead of complaining about realism...I'd think the Eighth might wanna spend more time strategizing than complaining...

Were you the one that decided to say Victoria was insane to cover up your ridiculous decisions, or did Outcast come up with the idea to cover them up for you?

There is a distinction in alternate history roleplays between events that deviate from the precise course of history (the entire premise of the roleplay), and events completely out of line with reality that could never feasibly happen, whether in the time period or outside of it. An alliance between China and Japan falls into the latter category.

Does it really matter? I don't understand why you get so pissed about a country that does not even belong to you. The point was to create a fun part to the story. I'm not quite certain why you are in this RP if all you are going to do is complain about how certain things don't match up. This is supposed to be fun, not a nitpicking detailed rendition of history. Do somethings not make sense 100%? Yeah, but we are all doing our best to maintain a sense of realism. Realism does not mean following the OTL to the letter. It means having logical outcomes. I apologize if all of us don't know the fine print of some of these Nations, but if you are looking for that there are plenty of other places to go. The point of this is to have fun, and with your constant belligerence you are detracting from that enjoyment for quite a few people. So learn to just go with the flow and enjoy the story.

Edit: And just to answer, it was my own idea.

The only way to counteract a decision that is impossible to have been realistically made is to make another decision that is impossible to have been realistically made. It's a feedback loop that makes the roleplay completely take off from the realm of reality. The only way to prevent it from happening is for (relatively) realistic decisions to be made at all levels by all players, from the start.

Can we seriously for once go at least a few pages without having people get so goddamn catty at each other? Stop acting like a bunch of bitches. Shit happens, shit changes. We gotta live with it and move the fuck on.

If nobody made mention of decisions that go off the rails of reality, the eastern seaboard would be swarming with ships flying the Union Jack. I don't like having to complain, but it is absolutely necessary for someone to mention the infeasibility of some of the actions taken by particular players. Obviously no one is willing to make mention of unrealistic decisions that are to their own benefit, and so it is left to the people who are harmed by such decisions to call them out.
