Precisely. You should have (still can) gone neutral and tried to arbitrate.

Any victory Austria has while you help it will be much more crushing (read: empowering) than one where you don't help. Neutral, you can threaten either side with intervention if the peace is too lopsided.

Staying neutral would have meant that you would have sat out the war, watching both threats destroy each other. And in the end, both of your potential threats would have been (regardless of who won) severely weakened, putting you in a good position against them.

War ain't always the best choice. I know it's probably fun, but you gotta weigh things out before committing to a war.

If France were to express in an IC way a change in opinion, Prussia could tell Spain to leave Andorra so you could peace without issue.

I really wanted peace and to stay neutral.
Certain factors came in though.
Belgium was counting on me for help, and I felt that the attack was sudden and a little warning would have been nice..
I have allies who kept prodding me to help.
and Prussia has been really hostile. IC.

I do agree the actions of other people put France in a tricky position. I mean, how do you sit through Belgium being taken over? It only makes sense that France would step in somehow.

But to be fair, I'm not that well informed on IC matters. I know a few things, but I came in kinda late into this so I don't know enough to form a proper opinion on the matter.

As far as hostility, it was more fear than hostility. Germany was more afraid of France than France was of Germany. Napoleonic memories are still fresh in this time period.

Don't worry about it I understand why they where, but it would have been nice if some recognition of me being a little nicer was taken.

It's not weird for Germans to be wary of France. It's to be expected, honestly.

Plus, if Prussia is trying to unite Germans, it makes sense for it to give Germans a common enemy. If saying 'Fuck you France' enough gets the German people riled up and together, why not?

We still had to be worried. Austria was looking like you guys were buddies all of a sudden and that makes us more scared.

In Re Belgium, Belgium wasn't going to go peacefully. I would have done it peacefully if I could.
