Also, I imagine my ship will probably want to hang out with the Icarus. And I mean that literally, Valerie for all intents and purposes is the ship, and she'll like having another AI (or two) to talk to.

Pre-Departure Scene

The mood on the bridge of the Valorous Intent was a sombre one.

Captain Rhea Shohashi stood at the helm station awaiting the order to slipstream. She had decided to fly the ship herself for what felt like the journey to its final battle. The Intent’s destination was, ultimately, Fountainhead - the homeworld of the Nietzschean people. The High Guard would regroup and prepare for the attack at the Witchhead Nebula first.

Rhea had thought for a long time about whether she would go through with this. It was one thing to stand with the Commonwealth over her Nietzschean brothers and sisters. It was entirely another to participate in the attack on the homeworld of her people, even if it would stop this senseless war. But to stand down and not fight would, in the long run, be her death. As a Nietzscean, it was her duty, her very purpose, to survive, to cheat death by any means. That was why she stood here today, a loyal member of the High Guard, protecting what remained of the Systems Commonwealth. All in the name of survival.

She was broken from her reverie by the voice of the ships AI, affectionately called Valerie by the crew, and the pale face the AI had chosen appearing on the rightmost of the three rectangular screen that dominated the front of the bridge. “The fleet will is in formation. Slipstream in five… four… three… two…”

“Streaming.” Rhea said as she activated the Valorous Intents Slipstream drive, tearing a hole in space in front of the ship before diving headlong into the twisting, unnatural realm. The screen in front of Rhea showed the slipstream rails in front of her, and in the distance, further along the same rail this ship was on, she could make out the reassuring silhouette of a Glorious Heritage class cruiser. All seemed to be going as it should, until moments before they were supposed to arrive. Valerie’s hologram appeared next to the helm station and started speaking immediately, with an unusual urgency in her voice “Captain I’m detecting an unknown -” She was cut off as everything flashed white and everyone on the ship was thrown forward in a sudden complete deceleration. “Radiation.” She finished, the hologram the only figure on the bridge not affected by force. Rhea picked herself up from the floor slowly, even her Nietzschean enhanced strength not being enough to save her from being thrown clear of the navigation station, and looked around her bridge. It was a mess, with High Guard officers sprawled unceremoniously across the floor. “That was not a normal Slipstream exit.” She said as other officers began picking themselves up. She spoke again, this time with some trepidation as to the answer.

“Where are we?”

Pre-Departure Scene:

For nearly a century, the human race has been at war with the Bydo, a species of organic entities who corrupt what they touch. The innovations of countless ships, laser weaponry and Wave-Motion technology by the Earth Allied Forces' Space Corps has brought humankind far, but it was the Force that turned the battle around. The use of a highly concentrated Bydo mass able to be manipulated by any fighter served as an invaluable tool against the Bydo, and even sparked the idea of several Bydo-infused Space Corps craft.

But now the Bydo have remained at bay and gone for well over 9 years. Against some people's wishes, the EAF continues to bear Bydo technology among their ranks, despite impassioned calls to scrap it all given how the Bydo no longer appears to be a threat. Fed up with the EAF's defiance to such wishes, a Mars-based faction calling themselves the Granzera Revolutionary Army has declared war on Earth.

After several months of skirmishes and operations around the solar system, both sides eventually move into the outer reaches of the Kuiper Belt. During an assault to prevent the Granzera's siege of the orbital arms colony Glipnir, it is discovered the occupying forces belong to the Solar Liberation League, an extremist wing of Granzera.

In order to reclaim control of the Tesseract, a subspace warp platform, the EAF and the GRA initiate a joint operation upon the SLL. The SLL counterattacked with the use of harnessed Bydo units, in a sort of evolved form of the Force manipulation system. Within the climax of the battle, the super-dreadnought Jotunheim was brought forth to annihilate the brunt of the enemy forces when suddenly, the Tesseract activated unexpectedly. Unable to fall back properly, a chunk of both the EAF and the SLL's Bydo platoons were consumed by the explosive white anomaly.

As Shepard was looking out through the hull breach, Joker hobbled up next to her,

"Commander?" and the woman who killed Sovereign and just destroyed the Collectors turned to face him, "Joker. What's the Sitrep?"

Joker sat on the nearby crate, "You know the Illusive Man's going to betray us sooner or later."

"No. Really?" responded Mandy sarcastically, and turned back to the hull breach, "Jeff, I loathe Cerberus. Their methods, their operations, and their political ambitions." she turned to him, "Unfortunately they are the only ones who are willing to believe the Reapers exist."

Jeff furrowed his brow, "The Council could just be keeping you out of the loop, thinking you are..." Jeff rubbed the back of his neck trying to find the right words, "compromised?"

Mandy let out a snort of derision. "A Prothean beacon got beamed into my head, not a Reaper beacon."

"and you did die." said Joker, "Do you honestly know how Cerberus rebuilt you"

Mandy paused, and looked at Miranda at the far end of the launch bay sitting at a console, no doubt listening to her and Jeff's conversation. Thankfully, she was certain that Miranda was more loyal to her than the Illusive Man but one could never be certain. Despite being "perfect" the best thing Miranda thought she could do with her talents was Cerberus, only so much of that could be Orianna. Mandy let out a sigh, "Jeff, I don't know. Those are answers I want but the Reapers take priority. I'm just glad that I got you, Tali, and Garrus back." she noticed out of the corner of her eye that Miranda did have a start at that, and was walking away. That'll teach her to eavesdrop.

Jeff looked over his shoulder as Miranda entered the elevator, "Ah." and turned back to his boss, "So where to now?"

Shepard sighed, "Mnemosyne and Klendagon. If something out there at one point destroyed a Reaper, I want to know what it was?"

Jeff stood to attention, "Aye Aye. I'll make the jump coordinates. Estimated Time of Departure?"

Mandy began walking with him to the elevator, "Once repairs are complete. I'll be in my loft."

The ride in the elevator was short, "Commander, We'll win this."

Mandy looked at Jeff, and smiled "Come on Joker, it's not in doubt. We whipped Sovereign and the Collectors, by the end of this Harbinger may have to use capital weapons to take me down." and then the doors closed.

Mandy let out a sigh as the door closed, proceeding up to her loft. Getting out of the elevator she noticed her fish were dead... again. Maybe she could get Kelly to feed them, but that sort of defeated the purpose of them. Mandy had purchased the fish to get into a regular routine again. Being declared dead left her with a lot of uncertainty but with the Collectors, she had to push it away. Eventually when the Normandy was on Omega she was perusing a shop. While getting supplies for the SR-2 she looked through what else was available, passing up the Fornax and on an impulse she bought the fish and a model ship. She finished the Turian Cruiser before they reached Purgatory, it was fun. Enough so that she decided to get the rest of the set... which is when she discovered that the model ship kits discontinued and rare. It was a fluke she found the Turian Cruiser, it was going for 2000 credits on extranet auction sites. Being dead meant her extranet accounts were blocked (being dead triggers a lot of blocks on your accounts) so whenever she stopped at a store she checked their physical inventory for models. After months, she had found all but 7.

But that was a distraction from her real issue. She had been dead, not heartbeat dead, dead as in her surviving biomass could fit in a few plastic bags. Mandy closed her eyes, trying to focus on anything else, when the ship shook. Mandy reached up to her earpiece, "EDI what's going on"

"...Uncertain Commander. Joker's about to initiate battle stations." and in half a second the klaxons started going off. Mandy muttered a curse, grabbed her sidearm and headed to command. While the doors opened to the Command deck, a bright flash hit the Normandy.

Well I am going to give it a day for Noble but eventually I will need to move on with the Imperials. I am just trying to keep everyone at the same pace and if anything happens to one of the boarding parties (Where you don't insta stun them) there will be hell to pay. To be fair it is a ticking timebomb anyway. Eventually they'll wonder why their party on my ship isn't responding.

Okay I am just doing my post now in word before copy-pasting it on here. Having thought about it a bit, nuTrek is obviously a bit more militant than it's prime counterpart, and they would likely want to retrieve as much data from it as possible - computer cores that kind of thing. This would be irrespective of helping the other Feddies. Now at this point in the game it is too early for anyone to start getting access to anyone else's tech - in my view anyway. So this is your call, maybe have the Impy's open fire on me and total the Magicienne now any living crew had been saved ? Thus there is nothing that anyone can use? Does that sound the best way to handle it to you?

That all depends on Click This and whether she wants anything else from it, or to salvage the wreckage. But for someone to suddenly get replicators, shield technology, warp drive in addition to what they already have could easily imbalance the game this early on. Later, I see no reason why not - with your permission.

Up to you really, you need to say yay or nay at this point.

As a fellow player, I would point to the actions of the A.I. of the UNSC Icarus, and how it was perfectly keen to get comprehensive data about everyone else in the blink of an eye. With that in mind, I don't think that having everyone else know about some aspects of each other's tech is nearly as potentially disastrous as being able to use it for oneself.. Even if someone else gets their hands on that sorta stuff, we could hand-wave it to say 'we can't make it work' or 'we don't know how to make it work'.

In theory, in this case, it would be the equivalent of getting your hands on a cool gadget that you KNOW does cool stuff, but you can't MAKE it do that cool stuff, because you either can't fix it, or you don't know how to operate it, etc.

Also don't worry I whole heartadly expect my guys to not trusted as much as everyone else, I mean it is the only fully non human crew and they are a bit spooky.
