I see a lot of RPs that revolve around magical/super powered students in a secret/controversial academy/school/prison.

My question to you guys, what are your favorite scenarios in these types of RPs you've seen or would like to see? Please provide details.

For me, my first RP involved a steampunk magical school where students learned magics based on the culture they were from. (African, Aztec, holy roman, Egyptian ect.)

The RP stopped after the school got attacked by radicals that tried to kill some of he more dangerous students in the school(demon students). The school survived, but the RP died shortly after :(.

Anyways, what are some of your favorite story arcs that occurred during super school RPs?

I don't mind High School/Magic Academy RP's and stories, I am a fan of Persona after all. As for which scenarios are my favorite; I prefer stories about a small group of 'Super' Students who keep their powers hidden instead of say, Hogwartz. I don't know; a hidden magic/super academy just doesn't sound terribly believable to me. Plus; if I myself had magic when I was a kid, I'd rather be apprenticed to a more experienced Mage, or improve my ability on my own. Maybe I'm just drawing from my own experiences, but yeah, not a big fan of a school where the bully can melt your face.

As for which scenarios I'd like to see...

I would be interested in a SMT/Persona-styled rp where you play as High School students out in the Japanese countryside... After the nukes hit. Facing off against Demons running amock, refugee swarms, rabid techno barbarians, food shortages, water contamination, and the omnipresent threat of radiation. And yes, I fully understand that this would essentially be running on ultra-hard mode the entire time, to say nothing of being VERY depressing. >:D

I would also not mind seeing a RP where you play as teenagers in a lower tech Shadowrun. I mean; Steampunk Shadowrun. That's awesome! Of course, such a scenario would probably work better with adults but I certainly wouldn't mind parodying Greyfriars, or Tom Brown's Schooldays.

I was involved once in a high school set on a converted military starship... a high school where the students could be human, but were most commonly alien (we only had one human character in our group... and one half-human). Players played either a student or a teacher. Or both, if they wished. With the school set on a starship, part of our "lessons" were to involve field-trips on various worlds. Though I'm still unable to RP, I'd like to see this particular high school scenario played. Since the one I was involved in before died before even the first "official" day of classes... liked the concept, would really like to play it all the way through.

The kind where all the teenagers suddenly realize they have hormonal issues and then overreact to the smallest things, but because they're super powered, they decide that instead of just punching their BFF for flirting with a chick they're into, they'll instead burn their BFF's balls off with laser eyes.

"High school" and "super powers" don't really seem to go together well. The only time I liked the formula was with X-Men, and even then, most of their powers were pretty limited by their own lack of ability to summon them, and further still, loads of people got fucked up and killed anyway despite this.
