He looks up to see you exiting your pod, and slides you a tablet. On it, the date states that it is the year 2305. Nearly a century since you first went to sleep. Below that, a video message. you look upon it and press the icon, letting the video play.

Scarab-A beetle-like humanoid race. Their appearance would be likened to a human with a hard exoskeleton and multiple eyes. They are very primitive and warlike, but can learn technology quite fast. Scientists alien and human alike say that it is very possible that both humans and scarabs descended from the same ancestor due to the very similar structure of organs, But their location shaped their evolution.
The Voided-The voided are a mass of black energy shaped like a human. It is thought and theorized that they are shaped like humans because of the intensive study of said humans, but it is not confirmed. Very little is known about The Voided. What is known about them is that they emerged from black holes. They seem to have a childish fascination with humans studying them and their evolution. They are ageless, with their life expectancy being unknown. It is also unknown how they reproduce, or if they even do. Their technology, what little has been seen of it, is eons forwards of anyone else’s. They seem to have no Emotions.

Having always been a planet known for its technological superiority, Marius VI was once a global metropolis comprised of impressive architecture and beautiful landscaping. At one time, it was also one of the richest human colonies in the cosmos. However, following the 'Trias Event', two thirds of the planet's surface was destroyed. The remainder having been spared only due to the erection of a globally commissioned barrier. The likes of which was designed solely for the purpose of reflecting solar flares. Yet, despite this great feat, billions of lives had been lost. Along with most of the planet's wealth.Since then the rest of the planet had become a wasteland. There the wreckage of the old cities remained, half swallowed up by the planet and buried by sand. Over time, these 'dead lands' became the place of exile for the undesirables of 'New Marius'. Banishment equalled death. The planet's core, which now possessed the only available drinking water, had since been hollowed out in the area beneath New Marius City.
