Thanks to his lack of sleep the night before, today had been especially hard for Sam. He had slept through all of his classes and lunch the entire day. Even now when everyone else was starting to leave and go home he remained faced down on his desk, fast asleep. Pretty much everybody had given up on waking him in favor of getting on with their day. He was practically dead to the world as he was lost in a strange dream.
Everything around him was darkness. He couldn't see anything, couldn't hear anything, couldn't feel anything. He was in total sensory deprivation. Shock was the first reaction. He couldn't remember the last time he had had this dream. Suddenly he heard a small whisper, something he couldn't understand. Shortly after it repeated this time clearer.
"Soul...
He fell to his knees and held his head in his hands as a violent pain went through him and the same voice repeated again this time much louder. The source of the voice was now staring down at him a giant floating arcane symbol.
"SOUL!!
"Leave me alone!!" And just like that he was back, with his hand on the throat of his history teacher, Mr. Haplan. "Oh god! I'm so sorry!" He released the man's throat and cursed his Slayer reflexes as his teacher started trying to regain his breath. As soon as he stopped coughing Mr. Haplan started to lecture him about sleeping during class and he vaguely caught something about problems at home, but he was distracted by the dream to much to pay attention. It had felt almost foreboding. All of a sudden warnings went off in his head and on his first instinct he tackled the still lecturing Mr. Haplan. "Get down!" A giant serpent head smashed through the window and snapped at the two of them, one of its fangs cutting Sam's arm as they hit the ground. Another serpent head indentical to the last emerged from another end of the wall. He was dealing with a Hydra. Right in the middle of both of the Hydra's foreheads was the same exact symbol from his dream. Sam quickly brought himself back to his feet and picked up Mr. Haplan and shoved him out the classroom door. "Get everyone out of the building now!" The two hydra heads stared at him neither trying to make a move for Mr. Haplan which was good.
"She will have the souls that were denied to her..." One of the heads hissed. Normally he would been thrown off by the fact the Hydra was talking but instead he could only focus on what it had said and for the first time in a long time Sam was actually scared. It couldn't possibly be her, he saw Mathias decapitate the bitch himself, there was no possible way she was alive. Before he could even finish the right head lunged at him and he barely dodged as it tore through the wall behind Sam opening up a path into the hallway. Taking the time given to him Sam clambered out if the hole and ran down the hallway while the head was dazed. The other head immediately came after him. He yanked his phone from his pocket and dialed a random number from his contacts, hoping he'd get either Mathias or one of his siblings.
